- BORING!!! Oh so boring..... perhaps.... to some.... But, in this episode we transport, unload, repair, reload, and deliver a BORING machine, a machine used to bore (drill) holes in the ground (earth). We use truck #17, our Peterbilt 587 road tractor and our Trail-Eze TE801 trailer to transport the machine and our Peterbilt 389X with Miller Industries, Century 1150R rotator to unload and reload the machine INSIDE our shop. Oh, and did I mention that Talon makes an appearance in this video??? Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

Patient, courteous, training at every opportunity, safety comes first, why it’s done this way, compliments workers - wow ; what a person to work with. That’s Ron Pratt
Ron, I speak for myself and everyone who does any form of recovery. Exciting may pay the bills, but boring is definitely better.
I work in a steel shop. Excitment is dangerous.
Tator comes in handy when you got a monster with no wheels!! Good seeing Talon. Kinda miss his waddle cams HAHAHA. Ethan in college?! My goodness.
admit it .. this video is just to prove that Talon isn't chained to his desk , lol
Haha 😂
His wife keep him close to her so he doesn't get his hand dirty
I really like your videos. They are interesting. And I don't have to watch for bad language when the grandkids are watching with me. Thank you and God Bless.
Nice to see Talon again! Nice to see some in-house work!
Yes it is.
Ron's wife said "what do you want for your birthday honey?". Ron said " How about a garage that I can drive through from either direction, long enough to fit 2 rotators in one bay and a flatbed in the other, high ceilings, and still have room for the cars, motorcycles, lawn mowers and working space." . Looks like he got it!
Except missing the 2nd rotator
Tbh a vid of how to lube the boom and slide would be interesting in itself!
Any repair or maintenance videos would be interesting.
Any kind of maintenance video would be nice.
YES IT WOULD
I’d enjoy watching someone sweep the floors, appreciate your values and work ethic.
Yes, I'd be curious to see that too. Sounds like it's one of Ethan's jobs. Ron should put a helmet cam on Ethan to shoot the video :)
I’m glad you mentioned that was Ethon, didn’t recognize him at first. Wow he has matured!
Never boring with Ron. Good to see Talon again. Keep up the great work!
I agree, seeing Talon is nice.
Thank you for another video. It's nice to be able to see some of the happenings around the shop. It would be neat to have a tour of the entire shop sometime.
*When Ron grabbed those cones, who else beside me thought he'd put them up while working* like on a high.way?
Awesome video Ron…! Your videos however large or small are NEVER boring… Nice to see the inside of your shop and you all working in it… Nice to see David, Talon and wow Ethan and boy you’re right how he has grown…! What college is he going to and what will his field of study be…? We wish Him well and good luck in his studies…! If you can answer this, what was wrong and fix for that boring machine…? Thanks for this rare video of You and the guy working in the shop, nice to see this side of the business…! Have a good weekend… ps Love the "Boring" pun... LOL
This video is a bit different. And Wow - Talon, David and Ethan all in the same video. Haven't seen them in a while.
I think the thing I like most about this channel is that from the very tip top down EVERYONE is treated with respect ...
this is something missed by larger employers where you are simply a number!!
leading by example is the ONLY way to earn the respect of your workforce
well done
best wishes to all
Greetings from the UK. Something a little different! Good to see Talon again and keeping his 'hand in' with the 'tator. As usual, a team effort effortlessly executed. And no, I wasn't 'bored' by the subject matter, well, y'all know the drill!!! Still it musta been a 'hole' new experience to repair such a machine. Stay safe and God bless.
Always great to see Ron video. Nice seeing the shop and everyone working together.
Great to see team family all working together. Great video.
The start of training but eventual, mandatory and educational, brill! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 God bless you all 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Being from Minnesota and a firemen I've never worked alongside a rotator. I enjoy your movies thank you for all you do. Could you maybe do a video on what you guys do for servicing of the rotator and all your big rigs. Maybe touch on wear points, how often it gets mechanically checked. Hydrolicks ext
Thank you be safe out there, God bless
CONFIRM FREE SPOOL...*click* *THUD!!*
Yeah, that swivel's heavy.
You are such an awesome instructor, when you get tired of running the tow truck, you can be an instructor for mechanics, tractor trailers, and The Rotator....which is a combination of all of the above
At least you don't have to worry about the idiots that don't slow down and move over!
While we are playing on words judging by the pool of oil on the floor -- very slick operation
I will second that comment. Could not have said it better!
Question is - was the machine leaking, or did they drill a well to test it was working?
@@steve5772 He said possible fuel issue at the start of the video. So I would assume that could be fuel.
@@steve5772 im sure they did oil change while they were atbit.
Keep the load as low as possible at all times. That way, if anything does go wrong,
the load doesn't have far to fall, minimizing damage or danger to others.
Hi Talon! Holding it down at base camp these days. Good job, Bud!
Lol
Talon stealing the show haha jk. I missed Talon.
Nothing is boring on your videos Ron. Good luck in college Ethan. Nice to see Talon make a cameo
wonderful video Ron great to see you working in the shop with everyone else! Always teaching and ever so patient.
1:18 Wouldn't be a rotator video without an electrical cable in the way!
At least it wasn't over head.
Over head, under foot, whatever. They keep trying.
what can you say, beside that power lines are tater haters!
Can’t get away from the nemesis… lmao
The Arc Nemesis will always be waiting.
Talon still looks a bit sleep deprived. Welcome to fatherhood. May God continue to grant all of you His richest blessings.
Nothing is boring in you day Ron
That's why it was there, not boring, now it boring again. Wait, WTH..I'm lost.
Ray I'm not 100% sure but I think it is a boring machine like in drilling holes.
Talon, Ethan & David ; I also wondered what the problem was. Talon hasn't forgotten his Tator lessons. Thanks
Good way to do it, small steps!
Even your 'most boring' video is an pleasure to watch! Greatings from Delft, The Netherlands
Wow, gets to work with no sun or rain on the head, no mud on the ground, no ARC nemesis above, and no bugs crawling up the legs. You must really feel spoiled! LOL Also nice to see a different piece of equipment.
Ah, I see. The machine wasn't boring enough. Y'all fixed it so it is boring enough now.
Good job!
It's nice seeing Talon around. I always liked him.
Always great to see Talon
Wow man. Looks like the Exxon Valdez let go in there.
I was thinking Ron needs some neater mechanics. Not ones who just throw the old oil on the ground.
Or the bays of any quick lube
This was a rush job to get the machine back in the field ASAP. A little oil on the floor underneath a machine wasn't hurting anything. I had Ethan grab oil dry as soon as we lifted the machine from the shop floor. Not much you can do with it other than contain it when a 13,000 lb machine with a 1/2" T-1 plate steel cage around the lower section decides it want to dump the oil. Thanks for watching and God bless.
@@RonPratt For sure Ron. Keep up the great work. Appreciate your professionalism.
Another good morning, drinking my coffee with Ron and crew.Bless you all.Thank you mi.
Mr Ron there's nothing never boring with your videos not one thing they're all awesome and I love them all and I'm sure everybody else would agree with me.
Nice to see talon there! And Ethan sure grew since the last videos, college bound soon! Amazing how time flies.
I'd say that swivel is heavy. That's the first time I've seen hooks hit the ground when you put it in free spool
All that floor dry reminds me of my first ever tractor trailer service 😂😂
Good afternoon Ron hope you your family and the Midwest crew have a good and safe weekend
Ethan? College? Can't be ...
Different "boring machine" than I expected at first. Seeing the thumbnail I thought a machine shop had hired you to off load and place some newly acquired equipment, like a horizontal boring mill. Moving stuff like that can be pretty tricky.
That was what I expected too. Never even thought about one for ground work lol!
Thanks Ron for another great video. Thanks for a look at how you use a rotor inside the shop. There is a lot of height in your shop. God bless everyone.
The talent, skill, and tools here are unbelievable.
Careful - Precise - Perfection Doesn't get any better than that. Outstanding videos. Thanks.
I just paid big bucks to have a 500 foot hole bored for a waterline. Fascinating machines.
Good morning Ron and Happy Friday
Ron great job. The way Robert works reminds me of a old country boy you all stay safe
Thanks Ron, I have watched a lot of great recovery videos from you. This was something a little different.
Hello from Rockford, IL. Thank you for sharing an interesting and educating video.
Hi Ron nice to see you working with your boys again haven't seen them in a while. Keep safe and look forward to the next video.
Great to see Talon, David, and Ethan again. And a new tool to make your work easier, that swivel block from Miller.
I have watched a lot of other towing companies videos, but I don't believe any have the "rolling" rotator like yours. I am wondering if you or any of your viewers have seen another one?
There is another channel that has a rotator, but I can't think of the name off hand.
this was a nice video with the rotator and from the shop Ron, hope you make more of them. its nice to see what kind of work your are doing there .
Ron you actually said you actually made a mistake wow LOL you guys are great thanks for letting us join you from Kentucky
Just in time for lunch, cheers Ron!
a rare video from inside the shop. love all the punny tittles you are comming up with
The puddle of oil is proof that your fixed it... LOL. Nice to see a video of the shop, I know in past video’s you have said you can’t film much due to liability. If you can please do more shop video’s.
The company I work for allowed our shop to be filmed by a local news crew for a story about the company. They inadvertantly recorded and broadcast footage which included a minor osha infraction. THAT then triggered a full safety audit and some rather hefty fines and pricey risk abatement measures.
Nice having the right toys in the toolbox sometimes to do jobs in-house.
Dear Ron, I am following you from Saudi Arabia and I have benefited a lot from you. I wish you success always
Very good video! Nice to see Talon again! And I have a question why was there so much oil on the floor?
Good question on the oil. I would like to know as well. Drain pan over filled?
You never make boring videos. Good to see Talon again.
You are right.
Ron's videos are usually very uplifting. (Ducks for cover.)
Or sometimes they tend to drag. It's amazing what can be done with a Rotator.
Really cool. Very nice job Ron and the team. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Tow on. Keep recovering. God bless
Nice Eagle bus in the background.
18:02 "We're awesome!" Understatement. Awesome looks up to you guys.
Damn good answer! "Never know.". Always best to be prepared for anything and everything. And be prepared for those moments when things seem to be headed for the fan.
Little fun inside with the tator! Got a chuckle out of watchin that swivel hook plunk onto the ground after free spoolin.
That is a nice coach in the corner !
Ron your videos are not boring they are awesome. I am in awe of your rotator truck
You should do a video of the fleet of tow truck maintenance and what it is like to service all the parts on the rotator and the rest of the trucks
You talking to your son about the tag line sounds like me talking to my son about find finding something in my work van. It's almost the identical. conversation. 😄
I would suggest if you find yourself doing more of this kind of work you get you a overhead crane. It could work if the rotator was out on a job, and it would have been quicker. I go machinery auctions and I'm sure you could pick one up at a reasonable price.
Your operation is the safest I've seen on CZcams. Keep up the good work.
As always a good video showing all the cool stuff yall do everyday and the great team work and camaraderie yall have.
Not boring at all love watching you guys do what you love
I remember when watching when Ethan was like 16 now he’s a big ole Missouri corn fed boy lol
Missouri born and bred! That’s right! LOL
Isn't he like 17 or 18😂😂
Good to see Talon again...
Happy to see David back! It’s been since last October I believe!
First time I have seen this. But it does make sense. I have operated in house cranes so I like to watch this channel.
Mr. Pratt is very professional. And entertaining. Thank you.
Nice smooth driving Talon
I think SOMEONE misses working with Talon..
That truck has so many uses. Handy piece of equipment!
This is the first time I saw that piece of equipment get pullled out of the truck Ron 7 I have been watching your channel for a couple of years.
Yep definitely have to watch the over head in the shop. Great job Talon & Ron. God bless
I think since you love office work you and Talon should trade places every other month
Good to see other parts of your operation.
Wow! Talon!! I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning when Talon when was just learning the Tator. What is his role now?? His shirt is to clean! 🤣🤣
Dadgum , Ethan is growing like a weed ! I remember him being " knee high to a grasshopper " !
And does exactly what he is told.
Best line Talon says hay it’s your real a state.
Wish you’d show some more loads with that landoll- I just bought a Pitts hd35 hydraulic dovetail and love it- I enjoy seeing these trailers do their thing lol
Believe it's a Traileze. Just the same, it would be great to see more of it. Everybody be safe out there. God Bless.
The play on words is fun! Gave me a good morning laugh!
Ron: Nice, easy, calm.
Ethan: Comes in kicking shit!
Have you ever thought about mounting a camera to the underside on the light near the 2nd winches or some place near there where a suction cup bracket would hold? In a situation like this a loading and unloading with no or minimal time constrictions that might be a interesting view. as usual thank you for sharing with us Ron.
i like video lots of training in safe place keep up good work and thanks
Hey Ron Pratt thank you for the straps I got 2 of them and they are very nice I don't tow any more I am a auto tech and they are very nice for helping with work thank you God bless keep them videos coming stay safe
Nice video. Not boring.
Its probably only boring to the crew boring holes. Lol
You said the scales were a little off. I remember a video on Plaza Towing's channel where the Miller rep told them the weight can be inaccurate until you cycle the valves for the boom by raising or lowering it a hair. Something to do with it using the cylinder pressure to measure the weight, and the valves needed to cycle to let everything equalise, but the video didn't really explain beyond that. Their rotator is a slightly newer Vulcan 1150.
It seems like only days since you posted videos of working in snow and ice, and now you need large fans. It's never dull wherever you are.... LOL
Ron what was the issue with the machine
finally, wanted to see the shop for a long time :):)
