Once the job begins there is no rush to get the job done. Instead your emphasis is to get the job done safely and prevent any property damage or personnel injury.     Hi ron . Tim . Here I use to work for a company that had a 1013 Merc roll back plus a rotatior . . I loved this job ... I left to join the retained fire service in n.ireland. . . . Have watched all u vids .. also was a heavy driver ... . Jess I wish I could go back to the job. . . Stay safe . ... remember a winch should never be like a a birds nest .

    Your two independent primary winches are really handy, Ron. We run into a bunch of lifts where your 1150R would be better suited than our 100 ton rough terrain cranes.

    There must be a reason why the drivers didn't drop and hook ... added later - oic: left rear trailer inboard and outboard tires and rims are missing from the loaded trailer. Tag lines would help control the fine movements for centering, paralleling, and help maintain control of the load, especially if windy. Another help is, load a flatbed from center line of trailer, then outward, alternating sides left then right (or vice versa), if possible. Enjoy watching your work. Thanks for the videos.     HI , LOVE ALL YOUR VID'S , THEY ARE VERY GOOD TRAINING FOR OTHER TOW TRUCK DRIVER'S TO LEARN FROM , TOO TEACH THEM SAFETY AND ALL.! Is great and thank you for what you do , there need's to be more people who teach how to do thing's , the BASIC'S . I HAVE WATCH HIGH WAY TO HELL VID'S TOO . YOU BOTH DO GREAT JOB'S AND THANK YOU . MMM QUESTION ON 2 THING'S ? Why not use TAG LINE'S ON ANY , or all LOAD'S , AS I WAS TAUGHT ? AS IN SWINGING load around to guide it ? even a simple load to set down?
    Second is a suggestion for your low TOW BAR OPPSTION'S , AND ADD ON WITH SOME RUBBER TIREPART'S FOR A BUFFER ATTACHMENT , I think you see that maybe how with trailer's or truck's would help ? like the rubber pad's you use?
    AND LOVE HOW YOU ARE SO SAFETY MINDED WITH PEOPLE AROUND YOU AT THE WORK SITE, AND HOW YOU DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING FIRST , AND LIFT SLOWLY , IN STEP'S . MY DAD TAUGHT ME HOW TO RIG THING'S , AND LIFT THING'S , BOAT'S , AND HOW TO LOAD TRUCK'S , old school . LOAD MASTER ? RING A BELL ?

    Ron can you do a video of the controls and switches in the cab of truck and then your controls to operate the winches r etc!

    Centered is ok but i would load them a bit to the high side 3 inch should do it to compensate for the crown of the roads

      MIKE BASFORD I was thinking that I would have had the operable truck line up at the back of the loaded truck, L shaped, then the boom wouldn’t have to go clear around to load up. Not sure at all what makes me watch these videos, not like I’m in the business, I’m a retired 77 yo great grandma, and although I still drive, I don’t love it like I used too, there are way too many nut jobs on the roads now days! 🤗

    At the 18 minute mark, when you were trying to snug them together, you could have used a Ratchet Strap to tighten them up. The same with the 3rd bundle.

    Those spacer blocks are very important for load securement so the load won't shift and stay's snug against each other which at the facility allow's for better lifting with the fork lift because each bundle will be lifted by a single fork lift and if they are to close to each other it's been a real mess. And with 3 belly straps you compress them together so the load won't shift into any direction but They should build a nose stopper for emergency infornt our of 3-4 wood blocks and chain it down for safety reasons. On them 2*4 I would put them upside down so the T section on the deck so they just stand upright in between the bundles :-)

      I could have set it in the center on the second trailer, but didn't really think about it. I probably should have, or measured the spacing first, then I wouldn't have had to move the first set a second time. Thanks for watching and God bless.

    very interesting. what on earth caused him to loose tires and brake drum as well.
    could u have had the trls side by side with the rotator on one side of a trl and reach over the first trl to the second one

      With the hub still being in place you would have to assume the lug nuts came off. Brake drum just slips on and is held in place by the wheels.

      Actually the wheel bearings burnt out on this particular trailer. That is why the hub is still on. The inner bearing is seized to the axle and wouldn't allow the hub to come off....not without some "heated" assistance...lol

    Goes a bit off-side, but there was a somewhat familiar noise or cutting of the audio with Gopro - we have encountered that same kind of action a few times, it starts and finally shuts down the cam. Battery and memory card ok, something is bothering the camera action. Any knowledge about it? Anyone?

      Ron isn`t the only person to have suffered with this problem. Another channel that I follow went away from GoPro and went with Mobius cameras, I do believe that the guy had a small fleet of 6 or 7 little Mobius cams, I think they were only about 70-odd bucks apiece. He got magnets and made mounts for what he does. I`ve never heard him complain since making the switch away from GoPro, and his video quality and audio quality is pretty darn good.
      I don`t make vids and I have no connection to Mobius, I`m just relaying my experience as a viewer and follower.

      Lots of flatbed have that setup. Some put their belly boxes between the split. Some have a single sliding axle. Some have a lift axle for going around corners in tight spaces. It`s all how much you want to spend on them, what you`ll be doing with them, where you`ll be going with them. Sadly, depending on who will be using the equipment can sometimes detract from the versatility. Some jurisdictions allow more weight on an axle group if the split is wider like that. Years ago, a trailer bogie with a `Michigan spread` would let you carry more weight (legally speaking) on it than you would be allowed with a standard tight tandem. Personally, I prefer the tight grouping and a more conservative weight allowance. I feel that if you want to haul heavier loads, more axles under the wagon is the solution.

      The load had to be delivered and an axle wasn't available for about a week, if I remember correctly. They had us transfer the load (shown in the video) then finish securing the axle and they drove it to their yard. Thanks for watching and God bless.

      leaking wheel hub and piss poor pre-trip, no oil in the hub so it gets hot and melts off

      Chris??? I do not believe for 1 second that is what happened. Look at Ron's video. The hub is intact with no sign of heat or fire. If anything back there would of gotten hot enough to melt the rim & tire, that thin rubber mud flap, that is hanging there, would have been gone. It would have been toasted. Look at the hub, it is complete with brakes & everything. Clear case of loose lug nuts, nothing else makes sense.

      either way driver error. he shouldve seen either unsafe condition. and he literally is seen undoing a shotgun/short strap on camera, (hope his safety manager isn't watching).I bet this driver was in a bit of a hurry, didn't pre-trip and ended up without a wheel. lucky the load stayed put.

      Maverick teaches that strap, in addition to chains. Pulls the bundle tighter. Maverick also runs oiling systems on their trailers after a fire and lawsuit off a dry hub several years ago. And most likely, this load came out of the fort smith maverick yard, where during my time with them, a safety guy or two was always checking trucks, and it was a teaching yard, so every load was secured according to the books, because students did most of the securing in front of instructors.

      Chris W: at 10:18 you can get a reasonably close look at the axle and it looks like either the lug nuts were loose and came off or the threaded studs themselves broke, either way, there is no way this was a dry hub failure - there is no evidence of burned or melted material in whats left.
