  • Ensuring that a driver is properly fit to a race car is crucial for comfort, control and most importantly, safety. There are many different factors to address during a fitting most of which revolve around driver controls (Pedals, Steering, Shifter, Parachute, etc.)
Just like control locations, it is very important to consider aspects such as seat belt mounting locations and head support profiles. A one size fits all approach may not allow safety equipment to perform as designed if it does not fit the driver properly.
Part 5 of our Door Slammer Build Series takes you through the entire process of a custom fitting. This video is extremely detailed and features some humor as well.

One of the most critical but disregarded aspects of a build.

You should sell chassis for Ferrari 240 SWB, the originals sell for millions.

Awesome video. I am curious why they don't have the Driver with their Helmet, in a Driving Suit and the shoes he will wear. Those look like Hiking Boots and I would think it would skew things a bit

What is the normal height of the steering column off the floor? The video shows you measuring and saying that's good, :)

Driver mockup shouldn't have been done without him suited up. You look to have a good deal of adjustment for certain things, but when you have your visor down, HANS on and gloves on, things fit different and the driver may be in for a big surprise how much less visibility or room to reach belted up with all his gear on.
