      Also the tires, people think AT tires are great, but in reality their snow braking length is much longer than winter or even all seasons.

    inexperienced drivers... i mean,17" wheels in off road and locking the wheels while going down? nope... that is a big no.... the difference in the weight it is not that big, 74kg less for the tce.... the torque it is not that different either, 250(yes,250Nm not less) for the tce and 260 for the dci BUT, 250Nm from 1700rpm and 260Nm from 1750rpm.....anyway, this is the first 1.3 tce in off-road that i see and it did better than expected....

    From the first ascent my feeling was that 1.5 dci had weaker grip. You used the tires offfroad this winter a lot. The 1.3 had new tires for sure.

    You should test with identical tires. Cooper tends to be more adequate for mud then snow, is not really a snow tire. Also same driver on both will give us a better understanding.

    Excellent video, i was always suspecting that TCE will perform better and now we have evidence.. TCE has longer 1st gear with more HP up near the rev limit, which helps momentum in steep uphill climbs like the first one we saw. TCE clear winner. Apart from this even the winter tyres seem to grip better than cooper which is strange given the fact that the soil is not frozen and beneath there is mud...

      Both cars have identical gear boxes with same ratio. The main difference is the RPM higher in TCE (more than 5000) comparing to Diesel and this allows to maintain de box on the same gear longer.
      Don't forget the weight of the Diesel one which is higher than of the TCE (lighter aluminium engine).
      Plus the tyres quality and the experience of the driver on these conditions; the diesel driver should have used the 2nd/3re gear when feeling that the car is losing momentum, but instead keeps forcing the climbing in gear 1 or 2 (noted by the sound of the engine).
      TCE 130 has 240 Nm of torgue comparing 260 on Diesel and sometimes when climbing more aggresive is good to lose some torgue by shifting upwards on higher gear so that the contact ground/wheel is maintained better.

      @@TheSpeedlow I think it was about the tires. Honestly, I am sorry i didn't use the winter tires on my duster. Next time, when I get my hands on a 150 HP 4WD 1.3 TCe Duster:D

    hello - Debica tires surprised me - I was born in this city :) but ... I have a Coopey discoverer At3 - I have access to the house 4m up a steep mountain in the summer on stones and in winter you know snow and ice.
    Cooper was cool for 2-3 years later, as if they were worn out more slippery - especially on wet asphalt - I was wondering about the new version of the Cooper AT2 4s - do you have a comparison of AT3 with AT3 4s or maybe geolander g015 is a better universal all-season tire - I will appreciate your feedback

    Testul corect ar fi fost dacă ambele mașini ar fi avut exact același tip de cauciucuri, dar, dincolo de acest aspect, cred că Duster-ul pe benzină e mai ușor...

    215 tires, both? I think it's a mix of torque (in this case less is better) and weight.
    ...by the way: a FIAT Panda with Steyr-Puch 4x4 (the old 4WD system) and 155 offroad tires goes literally everywhere - 740 Kg mass ;-)

    I will buy a used 1.5 dCi 4x4 from 2015, what tires are the best? these cooper at3 4s are the best in normal class but any simexx could be better foe offroad? the computer won't disable 4x4 with non standard tire characteristic?

      The computer will disable 4x4 in some cases, I read something about the 4WD system disabling when the oil from the differentials is warming up. The tires alone can't get the the 4x4 system to disable.

      The computer disables it when it heats up. Tires will help a bit because it needs to lock less often but the best thing you could do is use it on Auto and only temporarily on Lock when it doesn't work with auto.

      @@pycanthusderossi4665 I also noticed that the 4WD Lock Mode is disabled after reaching a certain speed. On some forums it says that it is disabled after 40 km/h. Sometimes, when the car is stuck and you push the acceleration and the wheels are turning without moving the car, the speed will rise and then the 4WD will disable. The computer doesn't know how to make a difference between going on the road with a higher speed or when the car it's stuck and from acceleration you reach the speed, without any movement. 😁

      @@DusterCoolTravels I also noticed that there is too big rpm on the tires when stuck, I don't know why no very low speed mode when stuck so computer won't disable 4wd mode also slower rotation could get you out from mud

    Amândouă mașini se descurca destul de bine in test,totuși dacă erau echipate cu anvelope de off-road se descurcau mult mai bine. Să aveți parte de ele cat mai mult și fără evenimente

    You guys certainly like your Dusters! I am thinking of buying one. I sat in one yesterday in the showroom. Big, aren't they? Thing is the Dacia dealer is next to the Renault dealer. I sat in a Clio. Lovely. The Duster? Oh my God, a big difference...but still something something attracts me to the Duster. The looks are nice. And the price is amazing for the size of the vehicle. Are they reliable? Does anything break or fall off inside? Please let me know. I am interested in a 1.3 petrol 4WD. Not the top spec.

      Well, the 1.3 TCe engine is relatively new and I don't know about any problems of it. Mine is 1.5 Blue dCi and in 36000 km (my current mileage) I had a small problem with the ad-blue system, that was solved easy on warranty.

    Eu cred că la panta aceea ..daca era nevoie de viteza....și mă refer la 1.5 dci. Putea să ruleze in treapta 2(care este destul de scurta și are destul de multa putere) și astfel nu mai rupea aderenta atât de rău. Mașinile sunt aproape identice..... Doar stilul de condus diferă.

    Frumusel video dar comparatia dintre benzinar si diesel irelevanta in acest caz.Anvelopele,soferii,greutatea masinii(diesel e mai greu cu aproape 200kg) fac diferenta.Nu stiu de ce dar parca diesel-ul 'sa lasat' batut....orisicum succes in continuare,frumos ce faci,poate ne intalnim cand vin pe acasa la Sv.Îl probam si pe al meu Dusterica🧐😉

      Ms, am 35.000 de km. Doar o problema la sistemul ad-blue, care s-a rezolvat prin soft. O folosesc zi de zi, sunt foarte multumit de ea:D

      @@alatroyt652 le-am condus pe amândouă, la benzinar trebuie avut în vedere consumul mai mare ca la diesel și faptul că motorul este relativ nou și încă nu se cunosc eventualele probleme. Eu cred că tot pe diesel aș merge, chiar mi-a plăcut foarte mult cum s-a comportat dusterul pe benzină la test drive. 😁

      @@alatroyt652 nu este nicio diferență între cutiile de viteze de la cele două modele, la versiunile cu 4x4. Poate la modelul pe benzină sunt un pic mai lungi, de la a 4-a în sus. În schimb, la modelul 4x2 pe benzină, vitezele sunt mult mai lungi. Asta mi-a plăcut foarte mult. Dacă vrei cu 4x4 chiar nu este diferență vizibilă.

    Ce noroc ai avut ca nu ai busit bara la arbustul ala! Masinile s-au comportat foarte bine avand in vedere anvelopele lor si faptului ca Duster-ul ofera un rulaj bun si on-road si off-road! Ce consumuri au la urcarile astea?

      Cam cu 1-2 l mai mult dar având în vedere că de obicei facem doar 10-20 de km astfel, nu se observă diferența la un plin sau după câteva sute de km.

    driving through the mountains, the diesel engine is always better than the gasoline engine, due to its better torque, in addition to its much lower consumption ... but, for the comparison to be fair, both cars should use the same type of tires which is a very, very important factor driving in cross country ...

    You have to decide what you compare.Cars or tyres.You cant compare cars when each have different tyres.My advice is use secind gear.First is too slow and you only torture your engine.In snow you need quick wheelspin not crankshaft spin

    Contează mult de tot si şoferul. Se vede destul de clar, cel care conduce Duster-ul negru e mai putin experimentat. Nu abordeaza panta in cel mai potrivit mod. :)

    I think controlling throttle pedal of diesel Duster is harder than gasoline. Especially when ESP is off. Beacuse diesel engine has too much torque in less rpm range. On the other hand, gasoline engine have less torque but it have more rpm range, which gives driver has chance to drive without shifting gears. In my opinion, diesel Duster maybe could climb 1st hill at 1st attemp with 4th or 3th gear. It seems driver tried it with 2nd or 1st gear.

      Too expensive for one test. Buying two set of bfg AT, especially when just one car is mine. The other was on a weekend test drive from the dealership where I got my Duster😁

    testul trebuia facut cu acelasi tip de anvelope. Este cam irelevant acest test. Dizelul are un mic + de cuplu dar este si mai greu deci sunt cam pe egale amandoua, este subiectiva alegerea, daca faci multi km pe an iei dci iar daca nu faci km sau esti fan benzina iei 1.3 tce. Eu unul as merge pe benzinar. Cred ca trage mai bine la mers de zi cu zi avand mai multi cai si fiind mai usor si totodata silentios, singurul semn de intrebare ramane fiabilitatea motorului,care inca nu se stie

    You comparing two different engines, when drivers drives them like they both been petrol engines. In diesel you have really short first gear, and what I hear you didn't change it. Put second gear, on even third one, hold your rpm's 3000-4000 and diesel will have enough Nm to pull duster up this hill without any problems.

    In off-road nu conteaza cuplul si reductia atat de mult. Conteaza puterea si turatia. Motorul pe benzinase tureaza mai mult

    Diesel-urile astea noi am inteles ca sunt mai mofturoase si mai fac fite pe la unii posesori. Si eu sunt in dilema sa cumpar insa nu stiu ce sa aleg intre benzina si diesel. Parca as merge totusi pe benzina, 13tce, 130 cp, suficienti pt. mine, nu ma prea intereseaza cp cat ma intereseaza fiabilitatea.

      Am Duster 1,5 dCi 2018, 110CP fara adblue. Mi se pare OK. De ce sunt mofturoase sau fac fite ??

      @@stefanpopescu6479 am citit pe forumurile aferente modelului, mai multi posesori reclamau fel si fel in privinta motorului, dci-urile fara adblue au fost printre cele mai reusite motoare vreodata. De cand le-au introdus rahatul ala de adblue, inteleg ca sunt multe care fac nazuri. Da un search pe mr. google sa te convingi.

      Depinde de cine se află la butoane,,,, Oricum Diesel ul e diesel nu acolo trebuie făcută comparația pe Transfăgărășan sau pe Transalpina pe asfalt încărcate la greutate maxima sau la sprint pe distanța scurtă 👍

      Duster 1,5 dCi - masa proprie 1405 kg, Duster 1,3 TCe 130CP - masa proprie 1331 Kg adica este mai greu cu doar 74 kg.

    Yo hace dos meses me he comprado el Dacia Duster del 2023 y estoy contentísimo va de lujo y me encanta su línea robusta osea estoy enamorado de mi Dacia Duster que si Dios quiere será para años además yo cuido mucho los coches os recomiendo el Dacia Duster si puede ser la versión del 2023 tiene mejor motor

    The tce has winter tires. So its unfair for the diesel one, which is known that is better in off road conditions

      agree with you, I didn't know the difference would be so big. if I will get my hands on a 1.3 TCe 150 HP 4WD Duster, then I will use winter tires on my 1.5 Duster:D

    Comparatiile astea sunt greu de facut. Terenul e foarte diferit la fiecare urcare, soferul accelereaza diferit, alege traiectorii diferite fata de celalalt... Mna, e greu sa faci. Eu zic ca 1.5 ul e in avantaj cu cuplul lui de jos.

    Cauciucuri diferite, soferi diferiti, rezultate diferite. Sistemul de tractiune e acelasi, iar diesel-ul are cuplu mai potent, deci ar fi trebuit sa se descurce mai bine in offroad. Daca nu asta a fost rezultatul, eu unul cred ca de vina au fost cauciucurile (cele dedicate de zapada au rezultate mai bune pe terenul pt care au fost concepute decat niste cauciucuri gandite sa dea rezultate acceptabile pe toate felurile de teren). Pentru o comparatie realista, as zice ca soferul si cauciucurile sa fie comune pentru cele doua masini.

      nu m-am asteptat sa fie asa mare diferenta. si nu am mai avut timp sa pun anvelope de iarna pe dusterul meu si sa mai mergem o data pe aceleasi trasee. astept una de 150 CP cu motor 1.3 si atunci o sa pun anvelope de iarna si pe a mea.:D si acelasi sofer pe ambele cand le incercam:D

      Vrei sa zici ca masinile dedicate pentru offroad se rastoarna mai greu sa ce? Dimpotriva, au garda mai inalta si centrul de greutate mai sus majoritatea.

    Eu nu înțeleg un lucru de comentează străinii cum cacat n au experiența șoferii țin mașina pe drum merg cat de cat bn vb străinii care englezii sunt vai de capu lor sau nemții care sunt tarii doar in linie dreapta când vine o curba pe un drum național se face coada n spatele lor fiind șofer de tir știu ceea ce vorbesc.

    M-i se pare o porcarie,1.3 pe ditamai masina,chiar daca dezvolta .....cai multi,este prea mic pentru un SUV,sincer sa fiu si 1.5 e mic pentru un Duster...dar se pare ca producatorul Daciei nu pune pret prea mare pe lucrurile astea...nu mai vorbim de design interior ca exteriorul este unul ok.....totusi sunt 20.000 de mi si ceva de €€€€€

      Duster nu e "ditamai" masina, nu e un SUV ca celelalte, avand in vedere ca varianta diesel cu tractiune integrala (adica cea mai grea) are 1,4 tone. Este suficient 1.5 diesel de 110 cp sau 1.3 turbo benzinarul de 130 cp. Eu am SUV coreean benzinar aspirat cu tractiune integrala si are 1,6 tone. Cam asa trebuie sa aiba SUV-urile la clasa asta. Parerea mea. Numai sistemul de tractiune integrala creste masa cu 90-100 kg.
