Stop-Motion Transformation of Hasbro RID 2001 Omega Prime. Pretty cool for an old feller. Yes, I have NO idea where the gun rack for Ultra Magnus went. RID Optimus Prime is one of my all-time favorite Primes. I have an even more super mode where I put most of Prime’s extra parts on Omega Prime, but I didn’t want to confuse things. RID 2001 was my re-entry into collecting Transformers (since G1 in my childhood). I have the Takara version of Optimus which has a Japanese voice chip and one of the voice lines sounds like “I’m a goldfish!” and that’s been a running joke between me and my wife for over 20 years now.

If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.

I don't care who says what, the engineering on these two is just mind-blowing. Making a decent super-combiner out of Optimus' kibble is always enough of a challenge on its own, but combining with Ultra Magnus in a way that isn't just the cab wearing the trailer like the G1 toys... Just masterful.
I also love how part of that transformation is Optimus and Magnus literally having to shake hands. It's impossible for them to do this without cooperation and team work. lol
The "hand-shake" moment do appear in the RID anime anyway, where Prime tricked Magnus to perform their first combination
@@bsybilly pretty sure it was Magnus who tricked optimus in their first combination sequence.
Even though these bad boys are now over 20 years old, still some very cool designs and transformation techniques!
Even after two decades and nearly a hundred 3rd-party figures, these are still my favorites. They're just awesome, chunky toys that work together perfectly and look fantastic. I would kill for an MP of these guys, and Team Bullet Train too. So glad to see some appreciation for the RID lineup.

I wish I still had these guys. That combine form was awesome. Even their separate forms were cool. The fact that Magnus could carry the brothers was a nice plus as well.
RID Prime was and still is awesome.
You even got the handshake in there! I love this pair! The idea of Ultra Magnus and Optimus Prime combining to “share” the Matrix was fantastic. I still have these two, and I’ll never let them go. 😁
2001 RID doesnt get enough love. This was my G1. Two TRUE leader classes that could combine.. bliss.
2001 RID is when I got back into Transformers as an adult. I was never much interested in Beast Wars, but the reappearance of vehicles got my attention.

Inherited mine from a friend's brother, still in very good condition after so long. Looks awesome in my office.
I wished that the Power Link combination method used in Transformers Energon was like this. It was way better than transforming into the top or bottom part of the combined form.

It's almost funny the complexity they expected children to wrap their heads around. Considering the most recent transformers of the last 4 ish years of recent memory.
One of my first prime sets. These two where among my intros to the transformers toys and my god was it a vibe. Appreciate what you do peol!

I did the car brothers as well so far. I intend to eventually do Build King. Maybe I'll do something with that Megatron that turns into a dozen different things. I never got those beast guys left over from Beast Wars.

Y cuando la parte trasera del camión de bomberos no está unida a Optimus se puede transformar en una base de operaciones móvil. También hay un modo robot en el que le pones los zapatos del grande sobre los hombros a Optimus a modo de lanza misiles y la mano izquierda grande, pero creo que ese es un modo de relleno y hace que te sobren piezas porque no puedes montar la base sin ellas, así que...
También tenía Ultra Magnus un arma que hacía un sonido u otro dependiendo de dónde la colocaras. Optimus tiene una serie de sonidos que se reproducen en bucle al apretar un botón pero Ultra Magnus hace unos sonidos u otros dependiendo de si tiene ese arma puesta, cómo la tiene acoplada o si está unido Optimus e incluso así el arma hace unos u otros sonidos. Antes se justificaban los altos precios con estas chorradas

Hay un pequeño detalle que no has transformado. Es ínfimo y pasa desapercibido, casi ni es necesario. En las piernas de Ultra Magnus hay un panel que en el modo robot hay que sacarlo hacia afuera. En la serie de dibujos salía ese panel y si está también en la figura por algo será
Hay un panel en su pierna que funciona mejor en la posición A para el modo camión, la posición A para el modo robot y la posición A para el modo combinado. La posición B nunca parece ser apropiada en ningún modo.
@@peolesdru no sé si estamos hablando del mismo panel, yo digo el que tapa en el modo camión el pie del modo zapato de Omega Prime. En el modo robot normal está a la altura del gemelo por el lado exterior. No es importante pero es un detalle que si no recuerdo mal en la serie sale hacia afuera, posición en la que también se puede poner en la figura.
