Agreed, the solo likely was inspired by their work with Tom Morello - and it's amazing! The guitar feels like it's wailing, almost taking over when the grief in the song becomes too deep for words. I love how they play with the guitar sound in different songs. In "The Loneliest" the guitar mimicks crying, in "Mark Chapman", the guitar mimicks police sirens (as it tells a story about a stalker) and in Gasoline (a song about the war in Ukraine), it almost mimicks air raid sirens. I find it fascinating!

It's very interesting to follow you. I signed up. I really have to thank you because you pointed out things that were new to me. Thomas did this solo before the collaboration with Morello. Some reproach him for not being a virtuoso note shooter, but this boy (he will be 23 in January) already created some epic solos years ago, always perfect for the song. The solo of "Vent'anni" which is the anxious panting of a race towards the future, that of "Coraline" in which the guitar cries and screams a desperate speech or that of "For your love" full of the passion of a love at first sight that perhaps tomorrow will no longer be there.
