This isn't a movie, it's their video for this song. And their videos are always very original, always different, just like their music. They became famous in Italy when they were 16 to 18 years old (now they are 21/23) and became famous almost all over the world last year, after winning Eurovision and after their cover of Begin, recorded in their first ep, mysteriously became a hit everywhere. Maneskin are certainly a phenomenon and, I believe, far from passing. Just look at what they can do on stage, everywhere. They have talent, the right looks, incredible energy and tons of charisma. And they write their songs.

The fact that he says this is his first time listening to Måneskin is not really something that goes in his favor.
But anyway..... how do they say it? There's always a first time !
However he will also have a chance in the future to hear more and more, even in America, about this great Italian band !

Måneskin (Danish pronunciation [ˈmɔːnəˌske̝n]) are an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016 and composed of Damiano David (vocals), Victoria De Angelis (bass), Thomas Raggi (guitar) and Ethan Torchio (drums). the Danish name Maneskin which means moonlight was chosen because Victoria's mother is Danish and was an unknown word in Italy. they are between 21 and 23 years old, they are all very young. They achieved notoriety in Italy at a very young age in 2017 following participation in the eleventh edition of X Factor, thanks to which, despite being ranked second, they released the album Chosen in the same year. The following year the debut album Il ballo della vita was released, containing the single Torna a casa, which consecrated the group nationally, allowing them to undertake an extensive sold-out tour in Italy. In 2021 the second album Teatro d'ira - Vol. I was released, containing the song Zitti e buona, which allowed the formation to triumph at the 71st edition of the Sanremo Festival and the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The success at Eurovision has allowed the Måneskin to establish themselves on the world stage, entering various rankings around the world. in the last they have won platinum records all over the world with various songs, they have opened the concert of the Rolling Stones in California, they have been guests of honor of XFactor Italy, of the voice United States and of the Eurovision Song contest 2022. they did a version of their song I wanna be your slave with lggy pop, they were guests on the Jimmy Fallon show a couple of times and also on the Ellen degenerist show. they have participated in the coachella rock festival and dozens of other major rock festivals around the world. they sang the song Of l can a Dreams from the soundtrack of the Hollywood movie about the life of Elvis Presley. if you want to hear other songs they are all beautiful and I recommend them, if you listen to the songs in Italian but look at them with subtitles because the lyrics are very beautiful and to be understood. thanks and greetings from Italy 😁👍🏻 Alessandro

This style is called "Power Ballad" and is part of the Maneskin's dna and of every major italian artist. Actually this particular genre was created in italy in 1964 with the worldwide hit song "Io che non vivo senza te" that went to nr1 in the states with Dusty Springfield (You don't have to say you love me). That year hoards of american/british producers and singers travelled to italy to learn about this new genre that was about melody, grief, rage and passion. Up to that moment ballads were only sweet and tender like Cilla Black's "You're my world" (that was also an italian song). Another great italian power ballad is "Our Song" that was recorded by a then unknown Robert Plant in 1964. The original was by Ornella Vanoni "La musica è finita". Italian music is full of these structured ballads and they have never gone out of fashion, from "Sei nell'anima"of Gianna Nannini (2007), to Dionne Warwick - La voce del silenzio (1968), to Vasco Rossi "Gli angeli" (1997), to Diodato "Fai rumore) (2020). The only difference between italian power ballads and american ones is that we prefer them to be less rock. and more melodic. In this Case maneskin prefered to give to this power ballad the american touch since they are working there a lot lately. But they have other beautiful italian power ballads in their repertory, like "Torna a Casa".

Thanks for the extra insights. If you listen to more of their stuff, you will hear multiple Rock genres, a little pop, and some beautiful Italian ballads. This is one of their simpler songs, but good.
They are very young, talented, beautiful, edgy, but also a little bit of a throwback. They are hard to pigeon hole, but glam rock is their look. They actually have a contract with Gucci, so usually high fashion, being Italien that sort of goes with the territory.
Damiano is an excellent frontman, and the band is great live, and mostly records live.

Thanks for your professional reaction to one of the most promising young rockbands. All are around 21-23 years old. The are from Italy and grew internationally after they won the Eurovision song contest in 2021. Thier past records were produced by italian Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, who is now thier manager. Thier last songs, "Supermodel" and "The Loneliest" were produced, as i heard, by Max Martin. The Bass you noticed is a Danelectro Longhorn.
One suggestion for a reaction: "The Warning" from Mexico. The last album was produced by David Bendeth.

I love Blake, he did a reaction for their whole latest album Teatro D'ira some months ago!
This song is soo good, but they are really versatile and have different kinds of songs in that album, from ballad to punk to hard rock etc...
This single in particular is more polished than other songs they have (still great tho) and being a single is a bit more commercial.
If you want to dig them more i suggest to pick any song from the latest album, it's a no skip one and was recorded live with minimal production.
Btw maybe you have already heard them, they were everywhere with Beggin last year haha

However, checking out the YT of their live set at Lollapalooza (CHI), I can definitely see why this band has blown up. Also love that they're still singing some stuff in Italian 😊 Different languages can definitely add a new feel.

    Hello Barret,
thank you for your reaction! 👋👋👋 If you want to get a taste more of Maneskin's production here's a link to a home session they did before L.A took charge of them. Italian is where their true strength lies, IMO. The first song is in English, the second one in Italian. They are very good songwriters. Damiano David is the singer and lyricist. The tunes are written by Victoria the bass player, Thomas the lead guitarist and Ethan the drummer. Damiano is the oldest one of them (23), Thomas the youngest (21). Enjoy! czcams.com/video/ssDtj1uL1Go/video.html

Живой, тёплый, чуть хриплый голос Дамиано можно услышать на предыдущих альбомах, а полностью вся энергия и рок - драйв группы видны на выступлениях! I like Maneskin, specially their italian songs Zitti e buoni and Torna a casa. This song is quite cool too but nothing so new, in the 80s 90s there were quite a lot of power ballads like this. The video kind of reminds me of November Rain by Guns n' Roses, although, that just can't be topped :-) In any case, Maneskin is rising very fast, hope they keep writing cool songs.
