@@TheCrusaderKingHad to look it up as I wasn’t sure of its meaning. -
Scholars suggest this verse belongs at the end of Isaiah chapter 3, since it completes Isaiah's description of what will happen to the proud and wealthy women of Jerusalem and Judah. Isaiah has written that all the ornaments of their beauty will be taken away by the Lord. The foreign invaders who kill and carry off their husbands will leave them behind bald and wearing sackcloth and the brand of the enemy. A "brand," in this context, means a mark on the skin much like the symbols burned into the hide of cattle.
Some men, however, will survive the battles and be left behind when the best and brightest of Judah are carried off into captivity. Many more women will be left behind, though their husbands have been killed, along with perhaps their children.
Because of the nature of this era, those women will be left destitute and humiliated. They no longer have a husband and cannot return to the homes of their fathers. Single women had no standing in society at this time, especially if they had children. Some of them may even have had children as the result of sexual assault by the enemy invaders, making their rejection by the community even more intense.
These women are now so desperate to be made legitimate in their society, through having a husband, that they will compete for whatever men are left available. Isaiah depicts seven grabbing at one man and offering to marry him without expecting him to provide anything for them at all. They will pledge to provide their own support-the exact opposite of a typical ancient marriage arrangement-if only he will give them a valid place in the community. These formerly arrogant women who flaunted their wealth, position, and status will be brought so low as to be begging men to give them the merest form of respectability by marrying them.
These women represent a sinful human instinct in all of us. That is to be independent of the Lord and to glorify ourselves in the eyes of those around us. The Lord wants His people to understand they are fully dependent on Him. His people are to trust Him to provide them all the significance and provision they need. Drawing security from another source only leads to disappoint. He is willing to bring hard circumstances into the lives of His children to draw them close again.

@@amysnews6808 The word woman in the Bible can be defined as a church in Jer 6:2. The bread is the word of G*d that we are to eat daily. The apparel we are to wear is the robes of Christ thus we are to emulate Christ character in us. This verse is saying that churches will eat or follow their own truth not the truth of the words of G*d in the Bible. They just want to be called Christians or pastors just to take away their חרפתנו chrephanu their shame/reproach. This pastors is basically what we could call a plastic Christian or Christian in name only but not a Christian in truth. So we know that per the Bible in the OT/Tanakh that murder is wrong & G*d knows the person before they were even born from their mothers womb and even before they were formed they were per G*d people.
Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
So for a Christian pastor to say that a woman has a choice to murder her unborn child is the same a saying a man has the choice to murder and sexually assault a child outside the womb as its the mans choice and we are not to take away someone's liberty. This pastor is in fact a wolf in sheep's skin he is nothing but a servant of Satan if he thinks G*d says its okay for us to choose to murder or not. G*d says we have not right to murder but He says if you do murder you will face the judgment. This is why we must repent of our sins to Christ and stop sinning. This pastor seems to not know Christ for would Christ say that its okay to kill an unborn child in the womb? No per the OT/Tanakh killing a child in the womb by accident in a fight by pushing her over the guilty party had to pay for the unborn child. This was because of an accident now if a child was killed because someone hurt the woman on purpose it was life for life.
Exo 21:22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

So, does that “woman” have the ability to make the ethical decision he avoids? Do they not see the chaos and avoidance of Truth built into their thinking pattern???
