- Former midfielder Robert Pires discusses his relationship with the boss before, during and after his time at the club.
A modern great, Robert was an instrumental part of the Club’s success during the 2000s and one of the major creative forces behind the ‘Invincibles’ campaign of 2003/4.
During his six years with the Club, Robert won three FA Cups and two Premier League titles, scoring 84 goals in 284 appearances. To further endear himself to the Gunners faithful, he scored eight times in 12 games against Tottenham and was never on the losing side in a local derby.

never saw Pires play in his prime due to my age but got to see him in legends game vs Milan despite his age he was still class, was an absolute honour to watch. He's one of our only legends to not say a bad word about the club, manager and still remain so close to the club. Love Pires
Antony Kariuki Wenger didn’t buy Bergkamp though, I guess Bergkamp has a different mindset because he was part of a team that was struggling and since he is now the sporting director at ajax he has a new appreciation for Wenger kinda like Vieira after he took on management he realized he was a bit of a diva at Arsenal always saying he would leave

I always said if I was a pro football player I'd play for Arsene till end of my career. Even if he was not the best tactically and we would finish 4th every season I'd still stay and play for him. This guy was just an amazing person and always gave players a chance to prove themselves.

I’ll never forget the sight of Robert Pires walking off in the CL final after only 10minutes in the pitch.
Back when players still had normal bodies. Trained, muscular but still normal. Nowadays they all need to look like body builders so they can show off at the end of the match. Pires was such a class act.

Diyar Kamal we’re linked to max meyer from leverkusen and he has played cdm and cm all season for the them, his stats in dm are especially good and he can dribble as well as has decent pace but if i had to choose on a cdm i would choose ndombele he’s kinda similar to santi but has height and strength
we dont need that kinda player we need someone like ndidi he is strong and pacey similar to bakayoko but much better
Diyar Kamal meyer has good height and strenght as well as pace since he was a winger before being converted but if i had to choose a midfielder to come in the summer it would be ndombele he reminds me a lot of vieira with a dash of santi cazorla
