    • @reelcatfishing4479
      @reelcatfishing4479  Před 5 lety +1

      U can't use a sinker with it because it's already weighted. It will submerge with an extra sinker on it. And not sure about using it with a Carolina rig. Do u mean like making it into a Santee rig pretty much?

    • @JustinsFishinFetish
      @JustinsFishinFetish Před 5 lety +1

      @@reelcatfishing4479 you can use a sinker on it. I have been using this rig for almost 30 years. I put a 3\4 oz sinker on under my weighted corks. And a 1oz under the unweighted. I done a vid on the cork set up. When I first started CZcams. Never finished it cause I have never seen anyone but muddy river use a bobber for cats. It's super popular here in Ohio especially when fishing live bait for flatheads.

      @@reelcatfishing4479 what keeps ur bait from floating up if no weight ? If in current using a float an no weight your bait isn't going to sink Only thing that makes a Carolina rig a Carolina rig is just a swivel with a leader line

    • @reelcatfishing4479
      @reelcatfishing4479  Před 5 lety +1

      I guess it may reflect on the weight of ur bait and hook. I added a sinker once on a windy day to see if I can slow it down a little more but it sunk. I was using an 8/0 hook with about a 3 inch peice of cut shad.

    • @reelcatfishing4479
      @reelcatfishing4479  Před 5 lety +1

      I guess I should refraze that...it would depend on the weight of the hook u use and size of the bait. I use 8/0 hooks with cut shad and 3 to 4 inch live blue gill and when I added a sinker it was too much weight. How ever if u are using smaller hooks and bait then a small weight shouldn't sink it. As far as adding a Carolina rig to it i would say it's possible but would be hard to get the exact depth measure out for the sinker to be on the bottom and then the float still able to stay afloat and I say this because I don't throw less then a 3 ounce weight on my Carolina rigs because of casting distance with big line. I do think it would be cool for u to try it though and do a video on it! If u can get it to work then u could be onto something pal!!!
