Fresh air from Dinara mountains, around Velebit mountain and toward Adriatic sea. For people that are born in that area, we say that they have "dinaric" genes and are held in high regard; still mostly rural folks that love being outdoors.
The rest of us, that are not from that area, visit it at least once a year (in summertime during work vacation, then head down to the coast) + any other opportunity, like "long weekends" and similar. It does wonders for your overall health, both mental and physical.
That's a big part of it, of the culture, as well as healthy mediterranean diet combined with hardy/savory food from the rest of the land, or neighbouring lands (hungarian goulash first comes to mind - if you've never tried it, I highly recommend it!).
Other than that, giving it your all like there's no tomorrow and belief that we can parry anyone, that we have a chance against anyone, is a part of the culture too :)

It’s hard to evaluate UConn. I understand NET, but sometimes eye test prevails over stats and the way they’ve beaten a few solid teams but mostly lost to every good team they’ve played isn’t a great look. Paige is a great player but she keeps getting outplayed by opposing guards, Rivers, Harmon, Hidalgo, PaoPao. And they depend heavily on freshmen who seem to be kinda hitting the freshman wall lately

UConn is #2 in the NET rankings which is one the main factors the NCAA Committee looks at. While UConn may not have as many impressive wins as some other teams, they also don't have any bad losses. Notre Dame is now projected to be a 4 seed in the tournament and possibly even a 3 seed depending how they perform in the ACC Tournament. Therefore, all 5 of UConn's losses are to teams that are set to be hosting aka top 4 seeds. A lot of these other teams, while they may have better signature wins than UConn, they also have much worse losses than UConn. Add UConn's impressive NET ranking into the mix and the tips the scale in UConn's favor over some of these other teams.
Also, it's hard to bet against a team that is led by the all-time winningest coach in NCAA Tournament history and has two All-Americans in Paige and Aaliyah. Do I personally think UConn is a Final Four team this season? No. They have too many injuries and that's going to hinder them. But I think there's nothing wrong with having them as a 3 seed. They still have quality wins over Louisville, and North Carolina (both of whom beat Notre Dame by the way), as well wins over Creighton, Marquette, and Kansas all of whom are projected to be in the tournament.

    • @mplou699

USC has a great resume but they routinely underwhelm in the eye test. That is what burns them when it comes to rankings. Juju plays streetball and McKenzie Forbes plays a ****ier (crapier) version of Juju's style. Kayla Padilla is passive and Rayah Marshall's offense ranges from passable to incompetent. The coach is a cheerleader and they have no bench. They get by on sheer athleticism and timely baskets. Sometimes being able to jump higher and run faster than your opponent can save you in high leverage moments.

Everyone knows the big east is bad, I don’t think it’s overrated, but people are overreacting. UConn’s 5 loses all come from current ranked teams, and all teams that are in the NET 50. Notre dame lost to an unranked UNC at home, and then Syracuse twice, totaling their unranked loses to 2, and 2 at home. But they definitely should be in the top 16 for the teams they have beaten including UConn on the road. UConn beat teams ND lost to. And the NET does help their seeding, in which they rank 2nd, so this is something we cannot question, the NET rankings aren’t there for nothing, the same way Stanford’s seeding could have helped them because of a certain player not being on the court, does that mean it’s the same for UConn? I don’t know. but that’s the explication I could give. I don’t think any team would have the top SOS and lose 5 players and remain with a 26-5 record.

@@matthewreese3907 Utah was underrated, they almost eliminated Lsu had they not missed key free throws. And considering the fact that their offence was awful in the elite 8, it’s the defence that carried them. I watched Iowa vs Colorado and Colorado did lunch them, same way Louisville did, but they got out with the W.
The regions do need to be revised, region 2 is way too powerful compared to region 4

Colorado played 4 ranked teams in a row. They play in the toughest conference. They also play great defense and they have good balance--a good inside game and a good outside game. They compete. They could go deep into the tournament.

So why are they coming up with the brackets before the conference tournament is finished? Name the natty champions again before they play the NCAA TOURNAMENT or fix the game in certain teams favor like last year. Can we let the teams play without any fix this year and stop promoting Caitlyn Clark because he is so over rated, they gave him records he didn’t earn like the scoring record, there are ladies who scored more points than him like Pearl Moore, only record he got is most 3 point basket missed in a career and most basket misses in a career, why we not talking about that? He should have allowed other team members to shoot once in a while, at least Angel Reeves did that for her team.

    • @ronhorn6166
      @ronhorn6166 Před 3 měsíci

You’re an asshat! You’re talking about a young lady, not some dude. Caitlyn Clark is being recognized as the D1 all-time leading scorer, not all divisions. Have you heard of assists? She leads the country in that category. You can have an opinion without being pathetically nasty about it!

    • @ronhorn6166

You can have a different opinion without being pathetically nasty while delivering it. Caitlyn Clark is definitely a young lady, not a dude. She is the all-time D1 scoring leader, not for all divisions. No one has claimed otherwise. Also, have you heard of assists and do you know what they are? She leads the country in that category. Iowa doesn’t typically get blue chip recruits. Without Caitlyn’s efforts, they wouldn’t have played in the final four last year.

I had to laugh the purpose of seating is to maximize dollars and to make sure the top money teams make the final four. They had to spread the teams out so that they don't get certain teams in the final four. The reason the Regional 2 field is strong is so they can get LSU eliminated quickly. They put two teams in that bracket that they previously lost to Ohio State and Colorado and a strong possible team that can beat them USC. They don't want an Angel Reese team near the final four and the thought of two predominantly black teams in the tournament finals is frightening because the committee figures that is just bad for business especially the TV rating so I do understand. Plus their supporters aren't going to have that kinda cash to travel and buy high priced tickets, over priced meals and expensive accomodations. I do know this they had better get Iowa out of SC way if they want Catlin to go out with a splash. You need a West Coast team in the final four thats a huge TV market. Last thing they have to set up an ACC team for the East Coast in case UConn can't survive but I got them in my final four, they gonna need Paige to follow Clarks rise for next years marketing campaign. I think Virginia Tech might be positioned to cover the east Coast if Uconn can't get there. The tournament is always a set up because the NCAA is a cartel that always manipulates the market for profit. They also control the officials and they will postion them in matchups to eliminate teams they want gone. Hopefully this time things will go according to plan. LSU slipped up on people last year they do not want a repeat of last year's drama although they might not be able to eliminate SC, they can tolerate a champion not as loud. LSU winning the title dam near started a civil war. 😮 Shocked is how I think we will all be looking when its all said and done😊 been a fun season.

Most of us see that HUGE win over UConn on their OWN court, a GREAT win for Notre Dame. It made a HUGE statement of how really bad UConn is, not to mention the HUGE win for South Carolina. We don't care that ND lost to two teams that have been in and out of the polls since preseason.
