The problem with ALL sound comparison videos is that they don't adjust the output levels to match the real world experience...
So if you record something at 84db, and then something at 88db... your recording device tends to automatically adjust the levels to bring the overly loud noise down a bit...
So unless you record with more advanced equipment/software... Or correct the audio before putting it on CZcams, there's usually no point.
True words. The recording device indeed balanced the input source. The video shows no significant changes when you watch it on a mobile device with poor speakers. If you use headphones you realize that the lower frequencies of the engine noise are filtered out. This is what makes the silencing effect here and is noticeable even when the input level was balanced before :-)
It sounds good with and without it. The sound is louder and deeper with no silencer. But with it I do like it because it removes the deep resonant tone and the engine sings pretty good. For the street id use it and for show or track you can remove it. Im sure the power loss is barely noticed. I had the skunk 2 silencer to quiet my tacomas custom exhaust, and no lie the first day coming home I lost it on the express way. The bolt I put came loose. So my advice is use lock washer and you may want to drill a second or third hole to retain the silencer. The vibration and exhaust pressure will send it flying. Trust my word from experience. Im going to get another one I quess.

So it's basically like running a low-pass frequency filter at a fixed frequency. Cutting out some low and mid tones. The sound is still pretty much entirely there. Played from a Predator Helios 300 laptop

I bought an skunk2 Megapower rr it only sounds different when you turn on your car with or without a silencer you can tell the difference but either with if you drive around with a silencer it still loud well for me

Thats what i want it for also the cold start on mine is really loud so like in the early mornings and such also if i just dont feel like taking a risk with a bored policeman that wants to pull me over for loud exhaust that day

I'm a very quiet type of guy with a Greddy 3" catback exhaust which is EXTREMELY loud on cold start and at high RPMs. I just had my silencer delivered today and I'm excited to put it in. Thank you for this video. It looks like you have a Greddy as well.

No hp is lost maybe 1 hp an exhaust really doesn't do much change unless you change the motor valve exit Wich leads to the exhaust or fix the engine to convert more energy thus letting out more and making car go fast
It will creat abit of back pressure but nothing significant, back pressure could be good actually for NA cars

Subjectively, I would say that it acts as a bottle-neck in the higher rpm's. It makes sense since you're trying to squeeze the exhaust gases through an opening that's 50% smaller than the rest of the pipe. There are also some dyno tests that proof a little decline in peak hp. For daily cruising, I'd say it doesn't make much of a difference.
Is das erlaubt? Habe aktuell ein Problem mit einer eingetragenen aber nach Messung zu lauten AGA. Die andere Frage wäre: Schadet das dem Motor?
Wichtig ist immer die gemessene Lautstärke/mit oder ohne Schalldaempfer. Wenn die dann zu hoch ausfaellt ist die Anlage nicht zugelassen. Schaden tut es dem Motor nicht, ich denke die Leistung wird minimal sinken, da der Durchmesser ja signifikant verkleinert wird

Whats the point of a silencer if your current exhaust is loud as shit? Maybe adding a resonator after the cat and one of those large quiet mufflers would give you better results with the silencer.

people don't mind when the noise is out on the freeway or on a race track, in residential areas it's not necessary and most people mind because we don't want the fart can sounds entering our homes, especially while we are sleeping. Using a silencer before 8am is a sure way to keep your neighbors friendly.
How much the noise is reduce inside the car?
Reduced the low frequencies a bit, but overhaul the effect is not that much

Why spend money on a loud after market exhaust to turn around and buy another aftermarket product to reduce the sound?? Lol.
The comments can say what they want.. the added back pressure and restriction is gonna have a negative impact on performance. Id be will to bet the sock set up has better performance than an after market cat back with a banana in the tail pipe.
Its a little quieter than without
The video doesn't do it justice, it gets rid of the high pitched sound most 4" tips make, which is what is the main issue. You will still get the lows, but it's better then making everyone deaf.
