- Here’s the upfitter switch release mod. The kit was purchased from a member on the fordraptorforum.com The kit is well designed & comes with step by step color illustrations. But like most people I am a visual learner so I decided to show you guys how I installed mine. Thanks for the video!! I purchased the exact kit and had no prior experience. Took me a little over an hour. Video really helped finding the uplifter wires inside the hood and better understanding of what i was doing A++

I think you were suppose to solder those wires before you heat shrink them, they can get hot and loose good contact.

Do you have a link for this kit?
I see 4 connections in the cab, but only 3 are shown being connected. The ground, the wire to the pass threw wire, and the wire to the number 1 slot in the middle connector. Where does the last wire go? Is it a power?
Daniel Paterson there’s actually 2 ground wires that are spliced together & then grounded by the stud with the 13mm nut.
Trailblazer Films so he added another relay to a system that has a relay? Looks like you just apply 12v to that connector #1 pin and that tells the ford to open the list gate?

The relay is there to ground that pin. The 12v signal sent from the upfitter triggers the relay and grounds the pin. Sending a 12vdc current to that pin would be a big “no no”
