Sometimes I forget how good prime Murray was. Thanks for the reminder. No reminder necessary for Nadal.
Exactly , at his best he was the only one who could challenge the other 3 .
From 2009 to 2016 he consistently made upto the later stages of almost all big tournaments. Whenever big 3 missed, Andy grabbed the opportunity.
This is the reason they were called the big four. It never meant that Andy was equally good as the big 3.
First time I didn’t get fooled by a throwback upload 😂😂😂😂
Two of the old-school all-time greats are going at it. It's very nice to see and remember an era gone by.
Says a lot about both players - Murray’s almost unique ability to stay with the top 3 at his peak but also Nadal’s ability to always stay in the moment. He got hit off the court in that first set by a Murray who was redlining everything but he never panicked. Kept his head, played his game & reeled him back in. Tennis will miss them 🎾❤️
I remember that day, I was extremely scared of Murray. After the first set, I thought he was going to run over Nadal. But our clay court god didn't disappoint us. Murray was perfect that day, but Nadal just did Nadal things
Wow, thanks a lot for uploading these highlights! What a match... smack down in the meaty part of the Big Four era, where it's quite clear that Murray could hang with the Big Three and hold his own. Superb fightback from Rafa as usual, especially after losing the first set so decisively! 🙂
2 of my favorites in their prime!!! Can't get better than that :)
Murray's backhand was lethal
Watching this makes me sad because they are both so past their prime. It makes me emotional. Rafa truly is something special. ❤🥈
*This was the real final. Masterpiece match.*
How was this the real final. Nadal didn't even win. Have you seen the final that year it was actually superior to this.
@@colinbowerman3045
I saw the final and I prefer this match. Murray was fantastic here and Nadal won by a narrow margin.
For me this match was the real final of the tournament.
Greetings.
@@VashTheStampede4K I just don't get how you can claim that the two best players in the world playing in three sets isn't the final. What does that statement even mean. How is it the real final. The final is the final. It isn't the law that the final has to be your favorite match.
@@colinbowerman3045
What's your problem, dude? Do you know how to respect others and their ideas?
I repeat: I prefer this match and for me this was the real final of the tournament. Nole is my favorite tennis player, but I prefer this match compared to his final against Nadal here. Any problems with that? I don't care.
Greetings.
@@colinbowerman3045it's all about quality of play and what a thriller it is. For example rolan garros 2022 even though the final was technically nadal versus ruud, that was a washout and the real final everyone agrees on is nadal and djokovic in the semifinal
thwe level from murray in this match was just absurd
Wow what a match!
The 7:05 point was insane, as well as this game!
Great performance by Andy in first set. 👍
Andy was definitely an under rated clay court player. He juat played in an era of some of the best clay court players ever (Rafa, Nole, Roger, David, etc).
Roger wasn't one of the best players on the clay
He was better than Devid. Whenever Nadal missed out in 2009, he was the one who won it not David.
@@ediccartman7252 you must learn history...Federer is one of the greatest clay court player of all time! If it wasn't for Nadal, Fed would have been considered as the greatest or most successful clay court player ever along with Borg (vilas and perhaps Djokovic ..Fed and him are even on the surface by the way) ...just look at Fed's record on clay: 1 Rolland Garros (add 4 more finals), 6 masters 1000 (4 Hambourg and 2 madrid) and 4 finals in both Rome and Monte Carlo! So let me ask : do you know 10 players in the Open Era with those feats ??? 🙄😏!!!!
Please analyse atp forehands again
Murray was giving it all but still lose to the big 3 ...so good he won 3 GS's
a very similar scoreline to the 2011 Murray Djokovic semi final match. Only Murray lost the first set 6-1 but almost won the match

Andy Murray was the guy who pushed big 3 to achieve greater excellence.
Bring Nadal V Murray Monte carlo 2016 highlights..It hasnt been available since 8 years ever
When tennis used to be good
Epic
Just goes to show you. Whenever Murray could really get the ball hard and flat to Nadal's forehand.... He would get a big advantage. Was a prominent aspect every time he beat Nadal, even though he never here. Tokyo 2011 being an even better example
10:17 WTF
When life was alot better…
Me alegro mucho Rafael ,bue nas sensaciones
와..................
At crucial junctures ,the Big 3 could hold their nerves, more than Murray who used to do all the hardwork, though.
How to give the Claydal a breakstick on clay:
Professor Murray!😃
3:07 - A rare follow-through forehand stroke in a Nadal match ❤
8 Views in 1 minute, tennis tv has fallen off.
Taking a set against nadal on clay , giving him just one game, is quite something
Yeah. You know, Murray was fantastic in this match against the king of clay.
For me this match was the real final.
Murray was a BRILLIANT player at his best and was the only player that could really challenge the other 3 .
no, Del potro, nalbandian, wawrinka could challenge as good as Murray.
@@timytidy60actually I forgot about Wawrinka , he was great too. I’m not sure if the others won 3 GS and 2 Olympic Golds during the time when the other 3 ruled everything .
@@charliecharlie2288 del Potro has beaten Fed at us open final. Also he easily has beaten nadal at us open. He has beaten Novak in Olympics. Any match with healthy Del Potro is hard as playing against Murray. Nalbandian has beaten fed, rafa, nole at the same tournament. He was better player than rafa. Any match against him is very difficult. Honestly Wawrinka is weaker player than both Nalbandian, and del Potro but he got more success.
murygoat
Nadal looked so fresh and young, wow.
It was exactly 10 years ago so 😀
이렇게 멋진 나달이 은퇴한다니 슬프네여
Murray was bandaged due to hip surgery, it was a severe setback to him that season
Big 4*
10:24 WTF??
Фига тут олды костями гремят.!
Pre-metal Murray was good
❤🎉
Nadal legend
guess nadal was just better on clay lol
????????
The weekest version of nadal was in 2014 . He has a shitty forhand in this year
Nadal was elite until after the French open. Could’ve won the AO final too if he didn’t get injured. Excuses…
Nah he had a shitty forehand in 2015 this was just the first clay season he was actually vulnerable since he burst onto the scene. Trend corrected itself at RG tho where he was dominant as ever and the forehand went nuclear to carry him to that title while still having back trouble.
