I am really torn on this. Free flowing music that changes with regards to the events in the gameplay is super impressive, but compare the music to the soundtrack of AoE 2 HD. I just lacks musical highlights and emotions... That's my first impression anyways
@@SoundtrackRefinery i find aoe4s music to be like the aoe DE music. slow, and boring for an rts game. i spent 2 years making a music remaster mod for aoe DE and once mod support is out ill be attempting to make a better soundtrack. some slowness is fine but i want to be amped up.

15:54 - 16:00 absolute goosebumps on my arms as i am a medieval warfare enthusiast and study their culture a tad bit as a hobby, so this part exactly kind of made me feel like i am in that era exactly at a point when humanity as a whole was unstable in many ways but were ready to work together (from an English PoV mind you)
19:09 - 19:49 AND 20:46 - 21:20. so good. The feeling of watching your 60 farms with the enclosures upgrade in imperial age generating so much food an gold, and pumping out max level men at arms crossbows and knights like they're nothing, and then building towers and castles all over the map so you always get the defensive bonus from being in range of one. so good dude. This song and the English gameplay literally got me hooked.
Heyyy mate, good to see you. Troy will have to wait: I will release some AoE 4 stuff, next up is a massive AoE 2 HD remix (really good!), after that there will be a Medieval 2 Total War remix. Maybe then I will revisit Troy, but it's not priority as there are many other videos in the works. Thanks for always sticking around :)

The music files are there, but they are encrypted by a third party program (wwise) that sits behind a paywall or worse, a project based license as far as I could tell . Not worth the trouble

Yes. It works well with the battles but I don't rate it highly because ultimately each age soundtrack for each culture is based on one key only / sometimes just one chord The transitions from age to age are nice, as are the transitions from peace to battle and back
For $56 it is ok. For Age Of Empires it sucks. Couldn’t get less meaningful than this. Like use this and that instrument between this range Boom! Here is some tunes. Terrible!
@@lubkal9148 that's because most of the ages are set in the middle ages. The timespan they've based all the civilizations on is between 11th- 16th century.
Dynamic music for Strategy games is the best in my opinion.

Take a look at 2:56 as well. It is the melody of the Case in Point track of AoE II: The Conquerors. Another reprise to sooth our nostalgic ears!
didn't even play aoe3 but it's the best music in aoe4.
Goodness, this is just too good. From Castle Age onwards, the English music just gets me in the zone. Great stuff
