    From an Avs fan, they really picked themselves up out of that slump and made a good run. Ended up in the Western Conference Finals. This is all part of the journey, Edmonton will be back for sure. We went out three times in a row in the second round so Colorado was ready this year. Watching Draisaitl and Connor is special. Hopefully the Avs can lift the cup but I expect to see the Oilers back in the playoffs next year for another deep run. Respect.

    My Dad has lived through the glory years and horrible years, so he felt this game was over. Me however, I'm 22, I was young and naive. I told him the game was not over. But holy mackeral was that something. My Dad I both looked at each other and screamed after that goal, got off of our lazy butts and jumped. It was only November, but I could feel that building's energy for the next week, and that game I think really begun our ascension to the top of the league (before teams figured us out and we had to fire Tippett, but that's another story). Thank you for this video, really helped me relive that absolutely magical moment. I have to say one thing you missed (you show it a little bit): in the press conference room if you listen to the post game you could hear the fans shouting MVP.
    I'm a religious person, but it's because of Connor that I believe in magic, afterall, that's why we call him McJesus. It's because of that magic I know we can contend soon, not now of course, the next few years will be disappointing, but we'll be there someday; and if somebody looks back on this comment after McDavid leaves and we don't win won, let this comment be a testament of the magic he inspires. Thank you Connor McDavid.

      Hardest working out there and the results show that! He fits in so well with Connor and Leon. That 1st line is deadly and the top 6 is the best in the league hands down. Hyman has more goals than anyone on the Leafs. Leafs should mever have signed Tavares and kept both Kadri and Hyman

    • @joeidaho5938
      @joeidaho5938 Před 2 lety

      @@dwaynethewokjohnson7773 Ok...let's be clear. Hyman is a good hard-working player, but you're forgetting the fact that he's on a line with Draisaitl and McDavid. Of course he has lots of scoring opportunities. And no...he does not compare with the skills of Tavares, Matthews or Marner. He's a hard-working forward that would not do great things on his own.....but is a huge asset to a high scoring line as he does well at the front of the net and digging pucks out of the corner. Don't delude yourself over him. Honestly, you have little perspective about how to build a team properly, with the statements you made. In all his years in Toronto, he averaged from 30 to 40 points per year. Ya....you pair him up with McDavid and Draisaitl who are accumulating amazing stats..and of course he looks better..lol. Stats are not the biggest measure of secondary players. You have to look at it in context. Ya...if the Leafs dumped Tavares, they would be up shit's creek. He's a real leader....Hyman is not. The guy has amazing skills in front of the net....deflecting shots. Hyman is far below him in that regard. They are just not comparable. You really need to study hockey a bit more. And Kadri was both an asset...and a hindrance. When you get suspended in playoff series two years in a row, it's a real problem, especially when a team is really counting on you to play your part. It's not like that pattern has stopped either, with Colorado. How many times now has Colorado choked in the playoffs?? Same can be said of Edmonton also. When Edmonton starts advancing in playoff series, we can then maybe talk...especially if Hyman is actually doing his part and more.

And you're still talking about Hyman having more points or more goals...without noticing that he's on a line with 2 of the highest point getters and goal scorers in the league. Ya...the people that played alongside Gretzky also got a lot of goals and assists. At least do a proper fucking analysis...lol. Yes, Hyman has helped the cause.....but don't tell me he's a major factor in McDavid or Draisaitl pumping in a lot of goals and assists. You're letting your head swell...rather than actually doing proper analysis.

Sure they didn't cut in the middle but from the wing and just crashed the net protecting the puck. Who was it that perfected the technique of going in hard while holding out their hand to protect the puck from poke checks? Glenn Anderson did a number of those during his career.

Georgiev was also in net, 0.892 sv % and 3.11 gaa, pretty shoddy goalie. Put Shesterkin in the net instead and Adam Fox on defence there and the odds become a lot less likely if him scoring like that. He very well still could, he beats the best goalies and defensemen often, just saying it’s not as impressive considering who he was going up against here.

I hate to say it, but hardly no team deserves him outside of maybe an olympic-level Team Canada itself (an All-star team). Many of these teammates will be raised into the rafters in 30 years, just like Coffey and Lowe.. 100% undeserved, solely there because of where they were at a specific time/who they played with. Edmonton is the worst 'private boys club' of the entire NHL; a franchise surviving on 1-man dynasties. A recycled staff team of it's own ancient rosters - This, coming from a diehard Oilers fan.

Why you might ask....well he would have been flattened by one or more of those 4 defenders at the blue line! Todays hockey is soft and without the 2 line pass rule its a cherry pickers game. OV takes full advantage of that on his way to breaking scoring records. Connor is a great player but that goal was just a straight burst of speed through 4 players of which 3 did nothing but skate along! NO stick check or body checks whatsoever for fear of a penalty!?
