I busted out laughing when I seen this lol
I always love how the scammers start with “thanks for calling technical support”. They can’t say what company they work for because they don’t know what you’re calling about until you tell them.
Happens when you run several scams at the same time using the same phone number, I reckon.
@@Khenfu_Cake hello welcome to the benchode department 😂
Yes I always notice it too! It's a good way to know it's fake and it proves they run multiple scams at once.
“Hello this is support how may we help you?”
“Mentally”
“Oh.”
The way he fumbles with the phone at the start makes me think he just got woke up at 3am
He probably did, these scammers work 24/7 with a phone next to the bed in case they get a call.
Mc Rambro 😂
Holy crap, someone called?
Time zones, so yes, they work during the nights.
If ya wouldn have woken me up I wouldn have fumbled with the phone, na would I.
8:21 Dude, can we all just take a second to appreciate that "porn encryption" is one of the things on this scammer's list of package features?
Right? I wonder how that goes for the scammers when they bring it up.
Hi Jim, the search result you clicked is actually an ORGANIC one; not an ad... Which is even spookier because this means that the website is actually ranked very well on an ongoing basis without any ad spend to keep it there. Being in the SEO industry, I can tell you that the search result itself shows quite a bit of intelligence on the scammer's part because of the way their site is listed with an image, phone number, and box around it.
@James R One can get any site to be prominent -- no company needed!
I did see some guy do a ted talk about doing something similar.
I'm at a point now that I just white noise anything that looks like an advert or paid for, on searches, or when scrolling through webpages. I subconsciously distrust advertisements to the point where I automatically scroll past the first two or three Google results... But it makes me so fucking sad and frustrated that clearly these advertisements pay off enough to warrant their cost at least. It's sick.
And yet, and yet, the text on the website says "Full proof plan"…
@@Qw3rtypop he would also be able to just buy another similar domain and hotlink to his original domain?

Everytime Jim says "I'm not really good with computers", a scammer dies.
Rule of thumb, if the website has a stock photo it’s a scam.
Like Getty or AP. Definite scams the both of them.
Yeah, the people who fall for those sites don’t even understand what a stock photo is. That’s the problem.
thats stupid since all stock photos exist to be used by web developers on all websites that exist in this world. But ya.. sure.
If guy with Indian accent is talking to you then it's a scam.
If it has a photo that clearly looks like a stock photo, Stock photos are legitimately made to put on websites where you don’t have your own photos but just need a generic one, but additionally most stock photos that are legitimately used don’t really look like stock photos
In the beginning of the call he clearly claims that he's "Norton technical support" and presents himself as being from Norton, but halfway through the call, he's suddenly not "Norton Tech Support", but is, suddenly, "UK Instant Support Limited" instead. The company had a miraculous name change during your call.

I love fucking about with scammers i enjoy it
Yes good info.
Who tf uses Bing. Yahoo or Ask
I know Ask is bad AF when it comes to spam ads (I last went on Ask back in like 2013 and I remember it being littered with ads at least 3-4 times as much as google back then but now I use ad/popup blockers to stop spams and ads appearing though this is not 100% perfect as many ads now disguise themselves as part of the website to not get blocked and manually blocking the ads do not work either) but 95% of victims for these scams are either the elderly or the less tech savvy people such as middle aged people or those people who were brought up in a really poor place and moved out to a western country as many of them too will not know much about this and so on etc...
AND most users of "alternate" search engines are not the average non tech person especially those who fit in to the category of being easily fooled by online scams as google has the monopoly on the search engine market and started in that sector they are so big that "to google" or "googling" were made official words in the English language as almost everyone uses google for any online searching

I noticed how the scammers most often say "thank you for calling Technical Support" and they never mention the company. Which should already be a red flag. Same with robocalls. No legit company or person ever would say "thanks for calling support" or "this is the refund department" as a start to a conversation
"Bank stuff" *scammers perks up*
BACWRDS lol
Is it just me, or was the guy genuinely actually trying to help Jim through the first half of it until he launched Event Viewer? Like the guy even tried to help Jim locate his existing Norton license so he wouldn't have to buy a new one.
I noticed a couple of times that he actually gave legitimate advice. Telling him to log in at the start, and then going to the real Norton site to log in once he had remote access... What was the plan if logging in had worked, I wonder?
It struck me as them trying to seem more trustworthy by offering real advice so that the victim is more likely to follow the rest of the scam.
"I'll explain you"
Why do they always say it like this?!
@@ho-ohshiny2242 Heh
It's something to do with the grammatical structure of their native language (that is to say, Indian).
You notice it in a lot of those awful low-effort CZcams Kids channels that spew out broken content, too.
"Let's together bath", for example.
Because in the scamming school in the english lesson they were taught this xD
Most of them never had taken proper education in English so rely on scamming using their shitty English they just have developed from listening to others.
Sad to see how these guys always end up from my country
That's how you would say it in Hindi, I would guess. When you are only semi-fluent in a language the rules from your native language will bleed across.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for always breaking down these computer scams! I have always been the type of person who never jumps the gun to start clicking on unknown websites, but I have an elderly father who uses the computer a lot without thoroughly checking what he's clicking.
Netheless to say, I got a scared call today from him that someone hacked onto his computer while he tried going on Facebook and that there was a phone number he should call to regain control to his computer. Loud sirens started playing from his computer, and there was a voice coming from it saying do not turn off your computer or your documents will be deleted. There was no exit botton at the top. I noticed the website had just gone on full-screen mode for some reason. So I remembered your videos, exited full screen, and closed the website. I ran my antivirus just in case, but everything looked good. He had googled the term "face" and clicked on the first link that popped up on his Google search. I am sending him this video to teach him to be more vigilant about his Google searches, and to never call the service number on the screen without consulting with me first.
