I also think the pairing of Yoongi and Namjoon for this song is interesting because, as you guys mentioned Namjoon is the leader of the group and this song sounds like something he could've done on his own especially with the thought he put into just the meaning of the word. And being the leader comes with certain expectations of respect. But we should remember that Namjoon and Suga were the first two members of the group and Suga is older. He's the hyung. That in itself means that Namjoon owes him certain levels of respect according to Korean age hierarchy. Before Jin joined there were some disagreements and fights between these two guys (Suga the eldest and RM the leader) as they both were underground rappers before and were both in some aspects 'leaders' of the group as far as music making and writing were concered. Like Suga who was producing songs far a long time with a bit more experience in song writing plus with being older than Namjoon expected to have his own lead followed. And Namjoon being named the leader with his genius IQ was essentially in charge of the group. It's just interesting that they ended up doing such a song together when they had some issues in the beginning with well . . . sometimes respecting each other. Also the opening line 'Ayo Suga' by RM calls back to their song 'Move' where Namjoon opens with those same words and then recounts how they fought a lot in the beginning of the band before all the members were even finalized. It's like almost in the opening of Respect he does a nod to their troubles ten years ago with respecting each other. I just think it's interesting.

Not comparing but I see the Lennon and Macca magic air in them in here. Both had to learn and about each other. Of course they love each other but respect had to come first for both geniuses and to make things work, respect was the base it is so endearing. I love this par so much, how many conversations they had to do

Namjoon is from Ilsan which is close to Seoul, so he doesn't have a dialect. That is why there is Nam-toori because he just absorbed all the dialects from the others.

Love this duo, duet… a One time live stage, just like their other duet, Strange, which they finally did for Suga’s D Day in Seoul. This pair has such history, the years in training, the struggles, the creative partnership, the unique mutual appreciation and loyalty… theirs is truly a story of RESPECT.

This stage was designed especially for this online concert since they couldn't do a concert with audience's
The stage tour of Map of Soul 7 was completely different as it wasn't an online concert.

They often build elaborate sets for performances for talk shows and award shows. During the pandemic, they built sets, filmed videos and sent them to shows. I think it was both a way to keep people employed during the pandemic and a gift to ARMY because they would often have completely different setups for the same song. For example, no matter how many performances of Dynamite you watch, you get a different experience. The comments by NPR under RM's Tiny Desk concert (which was filmed in Korea) mention that it is the best recreation of the Tiny Desk atmosphere they had ever seen.

This song is part of a workshop. They break up into groups to work on songs. From it came Jamais vu (Jin, JK and JHope), Friends (V and Jimin) and Respect (RM and Suga).

They have my total respect, I am gonna look at them again and again 😅 there is no need to be perfect to gain respect. Honesty, mindfulness and dedication to detail with a genuine heart will do the trick for me 💜 Whether it is music or shows or traveling, I respect them and not just a song.

what was respect from. I couldn't read the CC because of the blur, and also the way you had it on the screen. Also, Map of the soul 7 concert was to start in April, so yes, the stages were designed for on tour concerts, as they were good to go, by like two weeks before Lock down.

The sets were all built for the online concert. One goal of BigHit was to keep as many people employed during COVID restrictions as possible. They followed strict protocols to keep everyone working.
