Playing for a long time doesn't make you a better player, it just makes your career more successful. If you want to be the best, you have to reach the highest level and the best way to compare players is comparing their best seasons, bcs then you can see how high the level was that a player has reached.
Until now, Messi in his 5th best season (10/11, 11/12, 12/13, 14/15, 18/19) was a better player than CR7, Mbappe and Haaland in their best season if you look at the average performance level p90.
Until no one reaches this level, no one will be able to call themselves a better player, regardless of how long a player plays.

Short answer: it's much too late for them to do that
Longer answer: surpassing Messi/Ronaldo has something more to do than just stats and trophies.
They would have to display performances comparable to their best seasons (like they did in 2018 for Mbappé, 2023 for Haaland) for 10+ years straight, while setting an inhuman gap between them and the rest of the still-active best players of their era.
(Oh and Mbappé still plays in a weaker Ligue 1 so there's that)

No player falls into more than 2 different main attributes of a well rounded player as the greatest or one of top 3 but Messi. Passing, assisting, playmaking, goalscoring, dribbling etc... Messi easily falls into at least top 3 of all those attributes in the history of football. Yes, it's possible to see another player with one or two of those attributes better than Messi. But no player with all those packages combined with a high and pecfect efficiency better than Messi will come along. As well as being much similar to Maradona when it comes to magic, Messi has more than the double of goals and assists recorded by Maradona. And to cap it all, Messi's longevity and consistency speak for themselves. Anyone who says's Mbappe or Haaland can match Cristiano Ronaldo please compare the goals scored and the assists made by each player. Ronaldo has MANY goals with both his strong and non dominant foot from 25+ meters out. Cristiano's range of pass and vision (once again with both feet) also FAR exceeds the levels of Mbappe and Haaland. The final point is that Ronaldo actually tracked back and pressed heavily for the majority of his career which is something NONE of the other players in this video ever did or do now. It was only in the second half of the 15/16 season when Zidane replaced Rafa Benitez that Ronaldo was no longer required to drop back to defend (except on corners which Ronaldo tracks back for even in the twilight of his career). It's not even an argument. I don't think Mbappe and definitely not Haaland will ever come close to Ronaldo and Messi. It's not a diss to them, but the bar is just so high. Messi played for 1 team with the same players . Players like Ronaldinho .none of these players will ever play under these conditions.

Using national competition should not be the case since you literally can't do anything if your country doesn't have good enough players, where as others do. It's the club accomplishments and specifically the UCL that should be the most considered thing here. The UCL is THE TOP NOCH to show how good you are. Playing in a league like BPL and the Primera Division is also something that elevates the legitnes of a player considered to be 1 of the greatest

Haaland isn't a footballer just someone who got taught how to score. Put him anywhere else on the pitch and he can't play.

One thing about Cristiano is that his club football record is unmatchable. He is the only player in history to win Golden Boots in the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga. Mbappe not even leaving the French league until 25 is going to hurt him in the future. Haaland technically is no match for what Messi and Ronaldo used to do when they were his age. If Mbappe manages to go to a better club he has a chance to be up there with Ronaldo and Messi. But Haaland, not so much, given his playstyle and the fact that he doesn't play for a better national team.
