So I´ve done something crazy and bought a Kenwood Titanium Chef Patissier XL Stand Mixer! This was a graduation present and something I have wanted to buy for a very long time. Thought I’d unbox it with you to show you what’s inside and some of the Mixer’s features! I will be using it a lot from now so will see if it is a worthwhile investment! If you have any questions about the mixer or its attachments, please let me know in the comments below and I will try and answer them!

Wow!! in English!! I have been looking a video English from last night but couldn't find one and today luckily I just found you!! thank you so much for everything and congratulation on new machine as well as on your graduation. I am so happy and excited for you. My Kenwood machine smoked a little last night and so I thought I will have to buy new one! but guess what! I noticed a little safety switch, I pressed that and tried it this morning and it works!! well I saved little one thousand pounds for now but of course I will see all your future video and will make a decision for when I am ready for new one! Thank you once again.

Haha amazing lucky you! You can hang on a little longer before having to invest in something new! I like the Kenwood I have, especially the food processor and blender attachments. The actual stand mixer is sometimes annoying, I actually thing sometimes it is too big... If I am trying to make small amounts of sth (e.g. whisking just 1-2 egg whites for meringues or beating the butter for a buttercream) the whisk doesn't reach down far enough - so I need to use my hand mix instead. Plus, I also don't think the warming function for proofing bread dough works particularly well, although I haven't tried it that often yet so maybe that will still get better when I figure that out more. So definitely pros and cons to the machine.

@@theunicook2604 How are you feeling about the Stand Mixer now?
If you had the chance to return it and get your money back would you?
Not sure if you have found out yet, but your mixer came with a spanner that is used to adjust the height of your whisk, so you can drop it down to just barely touching the bowl.
Just curious as I am seriously thinking of buying one tomorrow, but not really sure that I would get the use out of it.

@@handoromper7987 Hi Hando! Sorry for the late reply! I hope it's not too late! Wow - I never knew! I'll have to check out the spanner to see if I can drop the height a little, as I'd say that's my one main issue with it. If you are making small quantities, i.e. just whisking one egg or making small amounts of buttercream, I find the whisk doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl so I either have to hold it or give up and use the hand whisk instead. So I'll definitely have to give it a go! I'm also not entirely convinced that the proofing function works very well, I usually just revert to old habits of proving in the oven (off) with steam... I do really like the in-built scales though and love my blender and food processor attachments. They are super handy!
I'd say it really depends what you want to use the whisk for. If it's mainly for home baking in small quantities I'd probably opt for a Kitchen Aid instead. They are cheaper and also really good (I have one at my family home that I have used for years).

@@theunicook2604 Thanks for the reply 👍I did get it and love it. I found the heating very slow if you melt chocolate, and the mix even on the lowest setting is very fast. The spanner was not included in my one so I don't think it comes with one anymore. I bought the mincer attachment and the blender glass bowl, I get a free Food processor attachment that you send away to get. Very happy with it. Agree with you on small mixing, it's like driving a Semi trailer to the local shop for a paper 🤣 Glad you're happy with it, and congratulations on your graduation.

Might I ask if you are still using the Kenwood as much as you thought you would? Is there anything you don’t use? I.e. the blender or processor? Do you regret buying the Kenwood and wish you had bought a different Kenwood or Kitchen Sid, or whatever? What do you find yourself using the Kenwood for the most? How often do you use it?
Can you tell I want one? I inherited my mums 1962 A701, which I had refurbished. Unfortunately it needs repairs again. The cost of repairs will be about as much as buying the basic Titanium Patissier. So, I can not decide what to go for. For me it’s mainly the dough hook that is important. Mind you, the pasta tools look tempting.

Hi there and sorry for the late reply! Haha yes - who wouldn't want one though? I have had mine for a year and a half now and I use it quite a lot, especially for making cakes and bread. I would say, however, that the machine is not great for making small quantities (e.g. whisking 1 egg white) as the whisk doesn't reach far enough down to actually whisk it properly. I've had the same problem with small amounts of cake batter, but found that I can get around it by not locking the bowl in place and holding it up slightly (which does mean you have to stand there and watch it which may defeat the purpose haha!). I love the in-built weighing scale function and use it all the time, the heating/bread proving function is not good at all in my opinion and I never use it. I love the attachments (liquidiser and food processor) and use them a lot especially for making pastry or for cooking. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!

@@theunicook2604 Hiya, and thank you for responding. I have my mothers A701 from 1962. I had it refurbished a number of years ago. It needs refurbishing again (gear box and electronics). I have loads of accessories for it. It looks like the costs for repairs would be about the same as a new machine. I just can not decide what to do. For me, I would use the machine mainly for dough. (bread, buns, rolls, pizzas). I actually like the heating setting, which would be great for proofing dough (I hope). The scales, funnily enough, do not interest me as much. Since I have so many attachments for the A701, I think I may just spend the money fixing it. Problem is, it is really difficult to get the mechanism to rotate slowly.
      It is also incredibly noisy.

@@theunicook2604 thanks a lot for the quick response! Glad you like it. Would you say going for the chef baker xl, which has the built in scale function without the proofing function a better deal overall since it's a lot more affordable? @@he15rgp81 I can't remember exactly but as a rough guide you should wait until the dough has doubled in size. That usually takes 1-2 hours at room temperature but if you use the proofing function and it works it may be faster. Just keep an eye on it😀
