This is like a tank I would have drawn as a kid in elementary school.
Yeah, and double-barrelled guns per turret.
In Soviet Russia, tanks drive you, comrade.
Wait, the Russians still have a driveing T-35? That is absolutely amazing!
Russians are known to really love their tanks
poor tank was on the losing side twice in one war!
Sjovets are the victors of WW2 and the Nazi proxy served his goal for the same gang wich enslaves you to this day...
The only losers are all victims...
Been studying WWII for 35 years now, read numerous books, visited countless museums, battlefields, seen every documentary on the planet and so on, but this channel surprises me everytime again with new information. And i'm loving it!
So many guns, so little armour. Many thanks for the vid Mark.
You can have lots of guns or lots of armour but not both. And we are having a special on guns. Guns it is then.😄
@@bigblue6917 Needs more powerful Engine to be able to go at average Tank speed. Especially if you're going to choose both Firepower and Armour. Not to mention you're gonna need LOTS of money for that.
Adds a whole new mean to, "The Soviet Navy has landed."
The fact that he said "World of Tanks" and "Realistic" in the same sentence is amazing.
Like real tanks need premium gold ammo to make more than a dent....
WOT shoul be called world of premium ammo and stop advertising as being a 'free' game...
Or just sad
He should really make friends with the HMS TOG 2.
hahaha indeed
They should have removed the five small turrets and added one huge turret with the largest possible large-calibre/low velocity derp-gun. Why? Just because it would've been frikken awesome!
I can see you played WoT Tog boat event as well XD
Miguel Montenegro well.... I’ve encountered both of these guys separately in war thunder and Wotblitz.
I am here
"Nothing more enjoyable than a spot of armored mayhem." Rhetorical brilliance.
Armoured Mayhem-didn't they support Spinal Tap on their last tour?
Very tongue in cheek
It's nice to see the Russian folks at Kubinka got their T-35 running again - quite an impressive looking tank!
T-35 asked for and delivered. Thanks for that.
T-35. A great tank to go to war in. On account you know i was never going to get there.
Awesome video my friend!
OKMO Designer: "So how many turrets do you want on this tank?"
Stalin: "Yes."
America was the same with machine guns on tanks. For them any space needed a machine gun. And if you can fit one you can fit three. At one point even the driver had two.
Shouldn't be sponsored by wg if multiturrets aren't even functional
@@bigblue6917 sir, I forgot my personal quad machine gun!
@@bigblue6917 Cause Merica!
@@bigblue6917 - America was really like that with AA guns on ships during WWII
You lost me at 'realism' when talking about WoT mate. Haha.
Jokes aside great video, love your content!
Finally!!!! I've been waiting to hear about the landships, Thanks Mark!!!!
Just imagine a battle between all those behemoths.
What a beast. These multi turreted behemoths were popular between the wars on all sides. Land battleships indeed.
Brilliant to have learned of the Italian heavy tank the P-40, would enjoy to learn more about the P-40.
Benny Benitez - Same here.
ah yes my favorite amphibious tank
Best train
Her kitty kitty
Hands down the best source of warfare history on the net. Your work is much appreciated Mark.
I'm so surprised this land ship hasn't made an appearance in video games or movies I've seen cause this is easily the most handsome and intimidating actual super tank/ land ship out there!
Posted 4 seconds ago and already has 4 views. Nice.
Mark uploads a video. Class is now in session.
I feal you
It’s depressing
The Ferdinand: *Finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary.*
Finally! Landships, waiting for this video for so many days . Nice video by the way Mark
This IS my favourite CZcams channel
Mine IS-2... :)
our
Driver: where do we park
Commander: where ever we want
After 26 years studying ww2. The best thing is that I constantly realise how much more I have the joy to learn. I had no idea this tank was used in 45. Excellent!
I’m delighted that you are carrying a sponsor, and I will totally watch their ads, simply because you content is so good, so well researched and so well presented. Good for you.
Great video Mark! LOVE the longer format!
Never heard of this tank before, but now I'll never forget it, many thanks Mark for a vary insightful video.
A lot of work goes into these super frequent, high quality videos. One of my top 3 channels. Thank you!
Also: this thing vs a TOG II...yeaah
The day after Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for the work you and your team does Mark.
Anyone else have the feeling of wanting to get prepared for battle when you here mark's intro/outro music
HISTORICALLY: It was usless aganst other armor
ME IN WAR THUNDER: And this was the game where i ambushed the enemy team in a T-35 and knocked out the 5 guys on point and made a last stand against three more killing 2 before dying.
Much more appropriate sponsor - relevant to the topic and known to respect historical research. Much better fit for the channel.
Historical research? Ayfkm!?
Great video! Wow i didn’t know there’s still a t 35 left today.
The term "abomination" came to mind as I watched.
I wish I could have been to the kummersdorf tank museum before they took everything at Wars end.
It looked like an amazing collection
The United States supplied 4,102 M4 Sherman medium tanks to the Soviet Red Army through Lend-Lease during World War II. Mark, could you do a video on these Shermans?
When you build a special combination of unreliable, slow, thinly armored, and shot traps everywhere. Couple all that with the NKVD behind you ready to shoot you down, and it's just so many ways to die for the Rodina.
So pleased to see you sponsored!! Thoroughly deserved
Thank you Mark for yet another great video.
I would love to see a video about the Gestapo history and how it transformed into Stasi after the war.
Really love your channel!!! Always fascinating content and your so a great job in feeling like in there in the thick of it. And also Great choice on your sponsor choice! Much better than the raid game haha.
I enjoy your content. Great narration, editing etc. Before youtube.com, it was only on a rare occasion that I could enjoy military video's of specific types of WW2 vehicle's that fascinate me. You fulfill that void in my viewing experiences with impressive content. I am grateful for that Great video. Hats off to you. God bless.
Nice little production this one mark
Stellar work as usual Mark
Two prototypes of the spg version were built on the T-35 chassis , the SU-14 (scrapped in 1960 open version ) & SU-14-2 who's displayed at Kubinka together with the only remaining complete T-35 today . I wonder how the smaller Medium but also multi-turreted T-28 fared against German armor , i guess equally as bad ...
Probably the most dangerous tier 1 tank in War Thunder
This is the best History channel in the world!
Probably my favourite channel atm.
They could have made five effective and efficient tanks for the same amount of resources they wasted on this wonder blunder.
Glad you got a proper sponsor now. :D
Fast forward to the 2:20 mark to skip the freaking ad that ruins an otherwise great video.
Mark Felton you obviously do a incredible amount of research ,and must have sources that are not available to the history buffs like me
I have done a lot of reading abouts the 1st and 2nd world war and am always amazed at how you find hidden gems. Please keep it up.
Great, as always.
Thank you, super informative
I love the colour film footage, gives me a feeling of almost being there.
I thought the colour footage was wartime but take a look at 3:27 there's a section of modern crowd control barrier. Maybe a museum reenactment somewhere ?
That was the ad idiot
It's seem often the case in military design that the mantra "make it bigger" clearly indicates the lack of innovation.
A mobile fortress.A WHOLE VILLAGE ON THE MOVE. You can't hide, but it can't either
The thing looked like it could have really done something, what with five turrets and all. Turned out to be a joke in actual combat. Would make a fun scale model to build though.
There is a 1/35 scale kit. It's a nice build, needs a little extra work though.
It probably would have been ideal in a WW1 type of battlefield where it would have to deal with pillboxes and soldiers in trenches. Unfortunately by the late 1930's such a battlefield wasn't going to happen anymore and tanks had to be primarily designed to deal with other tanks first and foremost.
Gawd this thing is awesome. Never seen this before
I do like your sponser, fits with the content. Keep up the good work!
Love that code word - "Tanktastic"
Mark you aren’t the only one to post about the T-35 today. But I rather see your video.
Tog ll: finally, a worthy opponent, our battle will be great!
That would be a naval battle for the ages
The main gripe with these - like most heavy tanks until late war - was not the thin armor, weak armament, awkward general arrangement and amazingly low cost efficiency, but their general inability to get from A to B with any reliability even under peaceful conditions, let alone on the battlefield.
In the case of the T-35 though, those two 45mm tank guns and the 76.2mm howitzer can really hurt the germans, given chance. Therefore, as a Soviet commander I wouldn't even have tried to fight them as tanks; I would have had 48 T-35-sized holes dug at crossroads and other strategic points, broadside-on to the expected enemy advance. If each one could have delayed the german spearheads for even a couple of hours on the average, that would have been a full 4 days lost to the Wehrmacht, which in June/July 1941 would have been a massive advantage. Leave the actual tank-fighting to the T-26s and BT-7s, in support of the static T-35s.
Then again, as a Soviet commander I would have been shot for such a defeatist move, LOL
The crew went all the way to 11...nice!
This must have been the only piece of WWII military equipment larger than the Yamato.
There was some amazing color footage, too good to have been real WWII footage. I'd love to know where that originated.
Thanks for another excellent piece!
Hat tip to you sir for finding these obscure videos and historica. I have never seen that video of the T-35 advancing over the snow. Also the images and background the tank collection at Kummersdorf.
In just 20 mins 2300 views. Good going Mark
Geez! The cinema is still empty... time to get popcorn
Congratulations with the sponsor Mark I love world of tanks on PC.
What a coincidence! I was researching inter-war Soviet tanks for a game I'm making and I just did so much research into this thing!
Good stuff, Thank You. Its kind of funny that everybody was going for "Bigger is Better" but it was the massive numbers of American medium tanks that overwhelmed the advisories. Not saying the Sherman was a superior tank; just simple, easy to build, fast to get off the production line and that meant vast numbers could be built then shipped to Europe and the Pacific. Wouldn't have wanted to serve in a "Ronson" but God bless all that did. True heroes.
This is such an addictive channel
I’ve always been interested by this tank, thank you
This is an excellent video, thank you very much. I do have a suggestion for another video or series of videos. After Italy capitulated to the Allies in World War II many italian Airmen continued to usetheir airplanes on the axis side. It would be interesting to learn of their fate their successes and also what aircraft they used and the Livery of their aircraft, as well as which Italian aircraft we're pressed into luftwaffe service.
Yessssss the land battleship appears.
Wait here Is still t-35 existing and functioning
what a great channel... Thank you
Im glad you got a sponsor
The maus was and is by far the heaviest tank ever built bit the char 2c was still dimensionally largers even if not by weight
WoT 2019 ...
Lmao, haven't played really since 2016
It's still going strong
Heard they fixed OP arties.
wt is better... :/
Right? xD
Well this explain why WoT have still new players despite the bleeding population of the game . I love your channel it's one of my favorite of all times but please if you can get WarThunder for sponsor will be so much better. Great video as usual and to be honest i really forgot the fact that there is still a T-35 in existence .
Man that tank's designers must've really hated having to steer.
World of Tanks rocks! Been a member and player since May 2016.
This is a good break from studying.
WOW. Did not think this was going to be a ‘real’ tank based on the thumbnail!
World of tanks sponsor! Your in the big show now!! Great: good. I am only happy!!!
My 2003 Ford F250 has a very similar turn radius.
Fuck yea dude the intro music gets me hyped every time😂💪
Thanks
Incredible video
Very interesting video. Also how about something on the Dieppe raid?
Amazing. Never heard of it, I'm ashamed to say.
I'd like to know more about the captured tank germany used end the battles they fougth
Hey Mark. Good as always, Seems artillery shells that deploy skeets will be the end of all tank warfare.
It's a fun tank to play in War Thunder RB. Very unpractical, and it often gets ammo racked or bombed, but when it works out it's cool being this huge, lumbering battleship of death. Same with the German Neubaufahrzeug. Also, had no idea that the Germans actually used one as a command vehicle.
l was in Armor once....Also was the Commander of a M-109 self propelled 105 Howitzer in Nam back in 1966...O,yes...tank's Doc. very very good as always...!
Those T35s are blooming fast on tarmac.
Very interesting kind sir...
