He's nuts about the true tone, touché, the feeling of the solo, the mods/scales and so on, and that's what you cannot duplicate. If you think you can play an Adrian solo your are wrong. You may be playing the same notes but it just won't be Adrian's solo. And do I have any proof/reference to this. Yes. A lot of legendary bands/musicians have tributed Maiden (including Metallica, Dream Theatre, Michael Schenker, Lemmy, Dee Snider, Children of Bodom and many other big guys -and yes, that's how big Maiden is) and NONE of them can play an Adrian solo the way it is. Including the legend guitarists of Dream Theatre, Metallica and Michael Shenker himself. Please link me an example if I'm wrong. Plus, I own a studio, I have some idea about real guitars and tube amps. A solo is like a story you write. Using advanced vocabulary and advanced grammar doesn't make it a good story. Best stories (the ones that take you to a place) are written in very simple ways. You are hitting the correct notes and strings according to this game. You are not playing an Adrian Smith solo. Sorry. Listen to Maiden tributes. The guys I mentioned above couldn't. Cheers.

At the start those high notes almost never register for some reason(The 20th fret). After that for some reason the other section Xs me after I complete the slow part with the power chord strumming even though I hit those there...

it is just playing style you get. i personaly also play power chords with 1,2 and 3 because i find it chiller to play.
I just play them with 1 and 3.
Those of us with smaller hands can't really do that without making a decent stretching effort
