The trail shoulder movement after the lateral shift is such a huge part of the golf swing I wish they would teach this stuff right out of the gate. Great video!

Exactly what Steve and I worked on in person and I'm continuing to strive towards in my monthly reviews at Cogorno Golf. Ball striking has never been better and never been more confident. Thanks guys

Such a helpful video. 2 rounds using the shoulder and right foot tip and the over-draw / hook is basically gone and am now hitting the ball better than ever. Thanks so much, guys.

This definitely helped! Lately I've been toeing my new irons. Was beginning to think they need to be adjusted flat a degree. But nah, I was just dipping my right shoulder lol. Great content, Thank you!

I'm from the low and slow era back swing. But since I've been back in golf I've been struggling with strike consistency. The last video of a steeper back swing has helped so much. Before I had to really force side bend at impact. When I got used to feeling a steep back swing everything through impact happened naturally. Funny how one thing fixes a slew of there things. 🤔 I wonder who always says that(Eric)

Amazing co-incidence. Midweek Stableford comp today. Out in 14. Very "iffy". I walk to 10th tee and decide I'm stalling thru impact. All I thought about then was getting the trail shoulder down, under and *thru and up*. Back in 21. Solid contact, divots, different game. Great video guys...

👍👍this video solidified exactly what I've been focusing on past 3 days at range sessions. From the over exaggeration of keeping head behind ball and feeling the knee bend push towards target (as opposed to towards ball as old habit) at impact and resulting in pull hooks, to feeling the trail shoulder coming through and "feeling" wrist keeping face "square" through back and follow through. Right knee naturally engages towards target without feeling an exaggerated conscious move. Great to see confirmation that its not a bad habit correction😉. Yeah... i say it and its confusing, but pretty much what you focused on for lesson. (Clearly) couldn't say it better!

Great video! Exactly what I’m working on. I’m curious what backswing changes you implemented with him to further reduce the excessive right tilt in the downswing? You briefly mentioned that would be a next step after drilling the right shoulder through.

He needs more turn in backswing---thats the main thing.

just in the last month i have discovered the right foot out thing. i have always had it str8 on and left turned out. (i don't have much of a backswing anyway and need more rotation left). i almost had to think of an over the top move to start downswing with right shoulder to overcome that "stuck" feeling that forces the clubhead to go down the right field line. what i take from this is the grip as far away from body after impact. still working on that

This is the video I have looking/waiting for. I haven’t seen my swing on video in forever, but I’m guessing I look a lot like the before swing, and I hit big pull hooks. They actually feel kinda great, really solid contact, but they are hooking into trouble. I will be working on the punch drill.

It seems as though there's more emphasis on what his golf swing looks like, than the effect on the ball. Was his contact and ball flight better after the swing lesson?

  • @courtneyjasiak7788

I stop rotating and my head goes back and downs and look just like that when I’m playing bad. My correction is a David Duval
type release getting my head up and rotating my body through a ridiculous amount. Head has to go forward in my mind too. So much better. Body released with straight arms and ball going 30 yards farther.

This is a common pattern for me. Stalling my chest rotation and hooking the ball too much...right hand takes over. What is the main culprit of the stall for most people? In the past, I assumed it was that the face was too open, so it was out of necessity, but I really don't think that's the case with me. If I get the face more closed, I often still stall and just hit it further left. Thanks!

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  Před rokem +1

Hey Matt could be several things....
Face too open like you mentioned, path too far in to out, path too far out to in, too much tilt, etc...

@@CogornoGolf I was thinking you can't have the right shoulder down left of the ball with the driver. I guess it dips down earlier but still needs a good turn.
