Ever wonder what Max and the other Avatar Drivers were up to while Jake and the Na'vi were fighting Quaritch's army? Well it turns out they were doing the one thing that was sorely missing from the movie: making Selfridge scream like a scoun (moron) and throwing him on his ass.
In all seriousness, as a 16 year old who watched the movie in theaters 4 times and reading up on the original script and the potential deleted scenes, I was hoping so hard that this scene would be one of the new scenes added to the Special Edition re-released in theaters before the DVD and Blu-Ray release. Of course it didn't happen and I had to wait for the Collector's Edition to finally see all the unfinished scenes and I was building myself up to finally see this scene and boy it did not disappoint at all.
This scene along with "You're a long way from Earth" gave Selfridge the closure that was sorely needed for this movie. He was the more hated villain, not Quaritch.
BTW, SEQUEL HYPE!
Avatar belongs to 20th Century Fox and Lightning Storm Entertainment. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Really... such of pity they had to leave this unfinished and delete it. This just could have explained why Na'vi allowed Max and the Avatar Program team to stay at Pandora.
Especially as it would have explained what happened to the other avatars- after the first scene the only other ones we see are Jake, Grace and Norm.
@@Sovereign01 well, tbh at the end, we see many more Avatar drivers holding firearms on the humans who are leaving. Guess that explains enough.
Also the humans evacuating from the battlefield would have been a nice touch.
Film was getting too long already..

when jake says he needs someone he can trust on the inside, it never really made sense because nothing is shown happening in the inside anyway. with this scene it makes much more sense to have left max behind
After him and Trudy broke them out of jail, Max told Jake that the colonel was coming to destroy home tree.
I don't know why he wasn't put back in jail.
Yeah but it also is kinda odd. I mean it's super violent
@@user-uy1rg8td1v Max wasn't in jail to begin with, and nobody saw him help with the prison break, so he was able to stay behind as the eyes inside and warn Jake about the general's plan to bomb the tree of souls
He informed Jake about the plan to strike preemptively using the shuttle as a bomber.
They should have included these scenes. If only to show that the Na'vi weren't alone in their fight for their world. That some of the humans were on their side and wanted to protect it too.
I’m pretty sure they would’ve been allowed to stay. This scene would’ve proved it

um it wasn't a war for the planet. If you had paid attention the goal was too get them to move and rebuild a new home so the largest deposit of the ore could be harvested. Now why did humans need it? Simple to restore earths gravitational pull cause the planet is dying. Humans wouldn't need to fight a war if they wanted to take the planet. Could had gas it, even launch nuke strikes from orbit or even terraform the planet to match the plant life earth has.

This scene should've definitely been in the film
Because near the end of the finished cut of the film when the humans were forced to leave pandora, you can clearly see some of the navi wielding guns and dressed in the jungle adventure gear that jake wore when he was still serving the RDA.
I figured that those were soldiers that went rogue and joined the navis cause, and piloted the avatars.
But this deleted scene sheds more light about those avatars that appeared near the end of the closing scene of the film. I wished it stayed in the final cut so that it can at least explain that.
We also see all the scientists and the other avatars at the start of the film and it always puzzled me what happened to them at the end. I think this would of been a great scene to have kept in the film and added to the extended cut
@@kindnessark8064 agreed. I love this movie so damn much! I can't wait for The Way of Water this December. I've been waiting since highschool to watch it.
yeah, it adds more context, but the scene you mentioned already shows avatars, at least part of them went to join navis side and considering they were all scientists, it doesnt suprise me. Honestly, while yeah, I 100% agree, that this scene adds meaningful context and could amp up the movie a bit, I think it would be 1. too much, more like a fairytale where all the avatars join the alien side and fight against bad human side + 2. movie already was long enough and seeing other avatars in the shot you mentioned already leaves viewers to fill that scene that we see here in their own imaginations and I dont know if it isnt for the better. Not all of it you must show in the movie. If something is not shown, but you see the clear outcome, viewer can fill that gap in his head, so you dont have to show it. Thats a good call on directors part. You see they shot it, so they planned for it, but making call to cut it wasnt a bad call. We still know what happened in the end, even in theatrical version. We just dont know the details and thats fine. This scene here only provides details.
@@kptmaci4979 I would respectfully disagree but at the same time totally understand where you're coming from. It really is a long movie, but idk, I felt adding an extra 2 minutes wouldn't hurt all that much but that's just me. Thanks for the reply!
Literally so we could know about the rogue one drivers
I don’t know why, but seeing the look of terror in Selfridge’s eyes when the avatars take over is extremely satisfying.
Yeah very true most of the soldiers were not there at the base and there was a handful at the base and they didn't respect the scientist team at all so it was a good revenge for them
Because, he's a fucking coward.
To be fair selfridge wasnt a bad guy in nature, just didnt care about what he couldnt see and once he could it was too late to stop it
@@filipbitala2624 Indifference can make someone the bad guy
@@breezy3392 yes, indicerence can make someone a bad guy, but pretty sure Quaritch was the bad guy
This is pure gold as is. The rudimentary cgi graphics, the big missing text, soldiers reacting to attacks from animals not there. All the green cusions and stuff scattered around. Amazing.
From all the deleted scenes people are writting had to be in final cut, I only think this one had. Especially the part showing that some of the "soldiers" and "helicopters" survived the attack, which also shows them in more human (as good thing) way: both scared and trying to save their mates.
That’s one reason. But the other big reasons are showing why Max and the Avatar program were allowed to stay and to have Selfridge be humiliated.
That and also seeing more people become alien doggy kibble
This was actually a great scene. Explains why some other humans and Avatars stayed back on Pandora after the RDA was kicked out, and also shows that Jake had people helping him back at the RDA base. Definitely added another dimension to the battle!
My opinion of the deleted scenes that should have been in the movie, ALL OF THEM!!!
Your every where
Not all of them but most of them
You said almost every deleted scene
@@kenpoarniceguy1 With the exception of Jake eating that worm thing and halucinates I would have kept all.
I agree
This defo should have made the final cut. Or at least in the extended edition. This would have shown the loyalty the Avatar Team had to Grace, Jake and the Na’vi, and certainly explained why they were present during the exile of humanity from Pandora.
Wait, this scene was not in extended version?
@@BreadCroissant nope. None of it
@@thatguyonline5208 No idea. This scene should have stayed in.
Always wanted to see the responses from the corporate leaders like Parker when he learned that the mercenary army and air fleet were getting destroyed by the newly arriving Pandoran wildlife.
They should finish rendering these scenes and release a Director’s Cut version containing the full, intact movie.
Added production cost is 1 million dollars per minute.
...yup.
However, that was back in 2010. Might be way cheaper today.
I mean look how popular the Lord of the Rings extended editions are. The only way to watch them in my opinion...
I STILL haven't seen the extended 'ROTK' movie. I need to.
@@warbirdlover2766 Exactly.
@@warbirdlover2766 well but people love to bitch about Avatar. LOTR is untouchable for some reason
This scene should be finished
I agree. That way, we would know why Max and the scientists were chosen to stay.
Sometimes I wish they could just forget timing in movies and just freely put all the scenes they want
I love how the climax completely justifies the suspicion and dislike the military guys had for the scientists.
Spoilers……
It raises questions about why those scientists wouldn’t be branded as traitors and hunted down when the humans returned in force in the sequel.
@@TheLAGopher Yeah, really good point, I wondered that too.
@@TheLAGopher well, Since jake like, completely transferred himself to his na'vi body with a ritual, why wouldnt the other scientist do the same?
@@chiquikris171 that's a good question, maybe eywa won't do that for just anyone and Only did it because Jake was the Toruk Makto and they needed a chief. Balance is her whole thing and If the scientists don't have to be transferred for the purpose of keeping a clan together or something else as large, i don't think it would work
@@TheLAGopher they were though?
in avatar 2 they're hidden in the jungle with the navi fighting, they'd almost certainly tried or killed if captured
So FINALLY I'm finding out what happened to all those Avatars that we saw when Jake takes his first run. I wish they hadn't cut this off.
I loved Max flipping off Selfridge.
"I Quit."
1:44 I lost my shit😂😂
This should have been in the movie as its Revenge of the Nerds moment!
this shoulda stayed in IMO- not only would it have given explanation as to why Max and others were allowed to stay on Pandora by the Na'vi, but a 2-pronged attack on your enemy is ALWAYS cool to watch IMO
This literally shows how the Na’vi were able to take over the base and capture Selfridge! It also shows the last of the Human infantry retreating!
Shows a the strong split between the RDA Science community with them rising up against the ethics actions of militant and corporate leaders , "But" such a scene may have taken away from other story points in the flow of the film, it pulls the focus away from Jake Sully and Colonel Miles Quaritch
Absolutely true, that's why is better to have it as a deleted scene.
Well if they decide to re-release Avatar before Avatar 2 hits theaters, they would have perfect opportunity add these scenes in the "Final Cut" of the film.
@@Balnazzardi and re-gaining the #1 Spot again, i would love that and i would pay to watch Avatar
@@odst1778 Ye me too! Since EndGame is gonna end up less than 10 million ahead of Avatar's world wide numbers, it should be indeed easy Job for Avatar to regain Its number 1 spot....and in adjusted for inflation numbers Avatar still is clearly ahead of End Game anyway although still not number 1 (Gone with the Wind is number 1)
@@Balnazzardi with almost 45 mins of deleted scenes, Avatar has more than enough to re-release and gain +10 M dollars and that also could help to gain hype for Avatar 2.
It's nice to know there were other humans that wanted to help from the base as well, not just Max.
They have good hearts.
Look up the avatar game it came out before the movie to get hype up it shows that the avatar program had several moles working for the navii before jake from other regions
Notice that no one is really paying much attention to Parker. Talk about having your power stripped away.
The Avatar scene was great, but that hasty retreat would've been absolutely haunting if it were completed. Really sorry we couldn't see it finished
Yeah, that was a great action sequence. Too bad it wasn't finished though.
Of all the deleted scenes this is definitely my favourite
“Give me a reason, prick.”
This should have stayed in the movie because it would have explained why some of them were allowed to stay! Cause it didn’t make sense at first, that might have just been me tho idk.
Only in the extended edition
2:42 “Give me a reason, prick!”
THAT should've been in the movie, all the other avatar drivers taking the fight to the command center.....
This is one my favorite scenes so far that they’ve left out, the only Avatar aside from Norm and I think Grace that went to battle was Jake and he was a main character so duh, but this shows that there were so many that were a part of the Avatar program that sided against the RDA. So badass. Also, Max flipping them off was pretty funny, he really did get cheated for screen time, I liked his character and seeing how much more involved he is in the movie in these deleted scenes kind of annoys me.
I love the part when Max flips off Parker🖕
These really should've been kept in because it shows so much about the war and it drives deeper into how not only the Na'vi fought
i recently rewatched the movie, and started to feel the other avatars were under utilized, interesting to see that there was a moment planned for them
1:43
James Lincoln okay that could literally be a meme
未公開シーン入れるべきだったほんとに…
全部見たけど必要よ…投稿してくれてありがとう
This is 1 of my most favorite deleted scenes. As a group of science's & driver's manage to help jake on their end, getting to the system & link back to their Avatar's.
As parker realize that RDA mercenaries Army were being forced to pull back, reports of an massive of wildlife animals fighting along side with the Na'Vi.
Not knowing there was a much bigger unexpected surprise for him & personal of RDA.
Even thou he may have a large security force that were left behind, but wasn't enough to fight off an entire tribe's that were on approach to the base. Which led to their surrendering, spare their lives & leave the planet. Carry an strong message with them back to earth.
Eventually, they will return to get their revenge after their humiliated defeat by the Na'vi.
Spoilers. We saw the humans returned with overwhelming force
with a General empowered to subdue the Navi by any means.
I was kind of surprised that the human forces wouldn’t have made it a priority to hunt down human turncoats. Instead it was all about Jake Sully.
Watching the actors just flailing on the floor is hilarious.
The placeholder shot for Max showing the middle finger was so funny like 😭
I wish this had been in the film. One of my biggest questions when rewatching the movie is: What happened to all the other Avatars?
We never see them interact with the Navi or hear any reason why they don't go with Nathan and Grace to help out. This is nice to see them doing something.
This should have been in the film, very epic.
Idk if anyone has pointed out this small detail before, but at 1:17 the pilot that says “We’re leaving” is a reference to Cameron’s Aliens when Hicks yells to drake “Drake, We are leaving”. It’s awesome to know that Cameron paid homage to his older works in Avatar.
Or the actor was a fan of Aliens and couldn’t resist slipping in his own homage 🤔😂
Damn this is a good scene. This is a good thing for avatar reaching 1 billion.
Parker’s scream is pretty great
It really sucks these didn’t make it, thank you very much for posting these so we can enjoy them. Avatar 2 will be mainly underwater so I’m intrigued to see the deleted scenes from it if you think that’d be something to post
Man Phoebe's Brother has come up so far in life, from melting random stuff to being the head of RDA mining for the rare and expensive metal on a moon so far away from earth damn!.
Before watching this, I thought there was only Max who support Jake and Navi people. But now I’m so touched when I find all of the scientists were kind and turned to help the weaker side. And they are so cute while they trying to attacks a bunch of soldiers by start Avatar😂. It’s a pity that these were not in the movie.
Omg this would have been a fantastic scene! Not sure why this was omitted and Navi sex scene was given importance!!
I think it’s because they decided the movie should focus on the struggles of Jake and Nateri. Same reason the one NaVi guys death was cut shorter.
I really need to watch this finished version
This scene is as badass as heak ,it should totally have totally been in the movie.
Such a bad ass scene sad we didn’t get a directors cut with all these cut scenes
I always thought it was strange the base just surrendered after the aerial battle was lost, I thought “well surely they still have a defence team plus the turret guns”. Should’ve had this scene but yeah I guess it would’ve taken away from Jakes hero moment.
Not at all, I hate how it's ALL about Jake. I really like seeing his boss and the colonel.
Damn, they really should have kept this. Never piss off the eggheads. This one scene would have made the 'only a few were chosen to stay' line a bit more weight. The whole Avatar team stayed, which I didn't notice before because they had basically no screen-time.
The JPG helicopter, the poorly made 3D model of a fat man giving you the middle finger, the Playstation 1 avatars arriving with voice acting made by random people in the street
This scene is perfect the way it is
Love how I can't see what's not there, but do to the acting and everyone else. They made me believe or easily imagine their attackers without having to see them. Lol just think that's really Kool and was extremely well done by everyone! 😅🙂
I can understand why this was deleted as it make the military more sympathetic and it shows the Avatars basically holding a bunch of underpaid interns at gun point. But at least it explains what the other Avatars were doing.
duuuuuuude are you kidding me! This is on par with "Eywa has heard you!" man! How ironic their own digging machine is to be used to break the command center!
I love how the placeholder CGI is so much like Gmod!
I always wondered what the other Avatars were doing throughout the rest of the film. I was glad to see a few of them walking around in the second one. Still think it would have been to their roles expanded
It's super cool to see the scenes that were unfinished. Gives a really cool insight as to how they did the CGI
Cool idea - but logically this scene is kind of ridiculous. Most of them are just regular people doing their job - and the guy comes smashing through the wall to rip them apart with a massive chainsaw, suffocate them to death, and mow them down with machine guns.. It's too much! lmao
😂
Screw humans we are annoying greaseballs
duuuude, field scientists?!?
learning to operate heavy machinery, guns (commonly for tranquilizers, though some expeditions do rely on some hunting for food), managing difficult terrain and situations, and more are commonly part of the package. There were two options for field work courses during my uni years; one was the fairly simple case that was a lot of work but most average individuals could manage the skills necessary, the other one required you to pass an intense physical and mental examination as well as completing several small courses to make sure you knew how to use the equipment (that was just to be eligible for the course).
if they were gonna keep this they wouldve needed to have more scenes to establish the rift between the pilot / science team and the army / mining crews.
See it would have been so good for Cameron to keep these scenes, because he’s talked about showing a better side of humanity in the next upcoming films, specifically towards Neytiri, so this would have helped that.
Love how max did the peace sighn and cut the window🤣🤣
Nunca debieron quitar estas escenas, hacen que la historia se entienda más, ya me imagino cuantas escenas eliminarán de la segunda parte :(

They totally should've finished rendering this scene and kept it in the movie, It would explain so many gaps and unanswered questions in the story!
The irony that avatar gets hated on for lacking enough detail or depth, but it was all there. Pleease I hope some of this was completed as flashbacks for the sequel
It’s cool to see how much of the stuff was actually real.
0:56 the helicopter.jpeg really got me lmao
Best CGI middle finger ever
This scene would have been awesome if it was finished honestly and it would explain how the other humans were seen as avatars in the ending of the movie
Wow! I really wish they kept this in. What an epic scene!
can't believe every scene is so good , even the deleted
I hope we learn the fate of the scientists that were allowed to stay, one unanswered question is were the other avatar drives allowed to be permanently transferred into their avatars like Jake was, but only after passing suitable trials. We don't get to see how many weeks of supplies the remaining scientists had (things like food, water and medicine)
Love how RDA soldiers were fighting against green screen
I went through all of the deleted scenes and while all were great and added to the story, THIS one should have been in the final movie. That was awesome!

Now this is a delated scene, not those 10 second dialogue head shots you see in Marvel movies.
I love how the font they used for the missing visual elements was PAPYRUUUUUUS!
