I hope you enjoyed the video! Let me know in the comment section what you would like to see in my next video, I'm always open to suggestions! 😁
My all time favorite, anything music theory related to psytrance. Also, arrangement, meta behind the 'gadgetry', mindset, workflow even philosophy.... but i suppose these are kinda off topic for the profile of the channel, I'd love to get a glimpse nontheless :D
Thank you for your sharing🙏 it really helps me a lot
you made everything each make sense, all parts are understable, an awesome tutorial!
@@luciocantoredrums6849 Thanks!
@@cruz_musi6 Thank you!
hey, I almost literally stopped producing cause I was so trouble with the bass. This tutorial is so useful, smooth and practical. I want to cheers and thank you not only for know who to do the psy bass but for sharing it with us! It helped me a lot :) 💖
Glad you like it!
Amazingly helpful, cant' believe it took me so long to find your channel!
Awesome Middle-D! Thanks for the fantastic tutorial. Love your work
Absolutely incredible. The best tutorial out there for psytrance kick n bass. Once you applied that limiter - I was dancing :)
Great tutorial Bro ! Thanks ! Greetings from Switzerland !
Thank you, for always having these videos! They have been really useful!
Thank you man! I'm glad I can help 🙌🏻
Hey, just want to let you know, that I needed a plucky, dry, hefty bass for a non-psytrance project. I had difficulties to get it right. Stumbled upon your video, and it helped me tons! Thanks!
YO, Really great tutorial man. congrats this blow up my mind about some fundaments of these kind of bass, thank you and god blessing you! :)
it´s so great that people keep talking about the thousands of irrelevant things so real producers can keep on doing what they do. there is a secret for the perfect psytrance low-end. keep on doing this.
What do you think are the key elements for a good psytrance bass?
i liked this video. thanks for putting it together.
wow thats masterclass niveau. great tutorial mate!
This video is awesome! Helped me a lot to get a mice baseline in my first release "You got me Rythm". Thx a lot for the great tutorials @Midlle-D
This tutorial is great. Thanks a lot!
This was fantastic tutorial! I’ll admit. I was a bit skeptical at first just because of how the long the video was. But once I started watching I realized that there was no waisted time. Everything that was in here needed to be, and everything was very well explained.
Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, It's not taken for granted!
Thank you for watching! I’m glad my video was helpful for you 🙌🏻
I love you! Thanks, in your video i learn some details that i Chase from many years ... Thank you! Thank you!
EPIC MY GUY
excellent simple effective tutorial thanx 🥰
Excellent tutorial D 👍
Very good tutorials, amazing music, humble and pro approach ! I want more ! :)
Might be of interest, Saturn in the first place with the 3 crossovers already introduces kinda heavy phase alteration. I used to use sometimes even 10 different plugins with different D/W kinda New York compression style, just to achieve a certain shape... Still vividly remember for the the time when I learned about it back then.... sorta like when u 1st learn about side chain... paradigm shift xd
Thanks for this! I've been struggling a bit with psytrance basses for a while until your video
I knew I could hear the psytrance resemblance in Spell Diver
you're awesome bro thanks for this
great video 🙏
Good video 👍
thank you man💪
Amazing Tutorial
Best video in my till now short producin career but im sure it will be one of the best ones i will ever see
Very usefull for me, thanks a lot

Thanks it works!!!
No secrets in this channel fellows! ♥ Thanx for sharing knowledge bro!
You’re welcome! 💪🏻
bro forget the bass that kick is nuts good!
Hey dude.. I have been searching www for while now.. how to edit ENV and LFO settings (instead of turning knob) .. @2:55 you showed. Thanks. Subscribed! Keep on broadcasting these tips and shortcut keys.
Thank yoou!
Have found your remix of bad guy by accident..

You help me a lot, thank you so much!!
Glad to hear that! 🙌🏻
Thaaaank yoooou!!☀️
Mais um tutorial brabo 🔥
Obrigado! 🙏🏻
i love how you move that loudness levers xD that's a professional hearing
nice traktor in the background!
thank you that was really awesome!
i did not check it back now but did you adjust midi velocity for sidechaining?
Very surprised by the work of Waves plug-ins without any gain changing. That’s really cool.
Amazing, right?
I would never think of using a multiband compressor like that!
thanks maestro! helps me alot🙂
Happy to help!
im amazed by how much depth there is to making music, its almost like a language which i dont quiete understand yet, but this tutorial definitely makes some of the things make sense. great vid and sub from here
Clean af 🤘🤘😁🔥🔥
Thanks brother!
Thanks for this. I kind of discovered FF Saturn because of this vid. Are you still actively making tutorials?
You got it all right. Only with the attack volume envelope i am not sure. I always add a little bit of attack
This sounds soooo gooood, I wish I knew how to do it xD
very less subscriber than the talent I just saw, too good thank you so much!!! :D
TOP DEMAIS!
2 minutes in and it's already an amazing tutorial, thank you so much for your knowledge 👌❤️
You are welcome! 🙌🏻
nice video man. only thing I miss in this video is how to mix the kick in context to the bass. (compression eq etc.)
muuuitoo toooop irmãooooo!!!
Obrigado! 🙏🏻
Great video!!!
Thank you Vitor! 🙏🏻
realy interesting the mutliband tips
very good video but i still have one question you have to sample your serum bassline what exactly is the difference if i sample the bassline or not ?
If you Sample the bass you make sure the bass is 100% consistent through your track. Idk if serum is able to be 100% consistent on every note so i think thats the reason
Jorge got it spot on! That's the reason why 💪🏻
Thats insane with the multiband compressor crossover points... I didnt know! Im gonna use this all over the place!
Get spector to see your phase mistakes first. Could be better for u 🎉
This is one of the most informative production videos that goes in depth as well, well done. Subbed!
Thank you Mark! 🙏🏻
Excelente bebé 💕🔥
learning alot of serum shortcuts, i didnt know i could type in 1/8 and it would convert to ms
Great tutorial once again, maybe i missed something but what’s the reason for sampling a long bassnote instead of a short 1/16? Please tell me im really curious 😊
Excellent! clear and concise explanation, you open ways to do things right as ever, even when I don't have Serum I can apply your directions in any capable synth. Thank you. Which would be a replacement for Waves Vitamin? I actually use some great and inexpensive tools from W.A. Productions, but I would like to learn about some alternatives out there.
Hey Carlos, thanks you! You can try out any multiband saturator that you can get your hands on really, unfortunately there aren't many out there. For multiband compressor it should be easier to find tons of them and, honestly, there is no right answer, you really need to dig in and take your time testing them out until you find one that satisfies your taste the most!
Can someone help me understand what the benefit is of sampling the bass from Serum rather than just processing it directly? The only thing I can think of is that using the sampler might add a punchier sound because it's being cut off during the sample rather than a tone. But this for type of basic rolling bassline, couldn't you achieve the same result with an arp set to 1/16th and side chain on the first beat? Or is it just a matter of preference? Thanks for the clairfication!
Don't exactly know how I missed this one, especially since I search for this specific topic often. But this was a super informative video. Your technique of using phase on the multi band is refreshing. Thanks for fixing my bass.
I’m glad to know I’ve helped you get a better bass sound! Cheers 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Sounds like a sledge hammer 💪👊
Pls make something like how we can glue bass and kick together to make profi solid sound ) Thanks
Good tutorial :) But i don't understand the sampling part. What for isit good?
Is there any specific reason to sample the sound, except processing time? I ask that because I think without that you have more control over the sound, for example if you want tou create notes where you bring up the filter.
when creating progressive tracks which need 3 or 4 different bs notes (like your "stardust" track with phazed ) different notes produce low sub and low energy or high sub which causes drops downs in feeling and vibe of low end when changing note , what do you suggest for this ? there is not any tutorial on net covering this subject , would you please create a short tutorial in continuation of this tutorial ?
Very cool video! 🔥🔥I also make music production videos 🎵,
Keep up the good work G 😎
enjoyed this maan, will you make bass like mandragora in sem chao or codeine? 😁
That’s a good suggestion! Thanks! 🙏🏻
Incredible this class! Let me ask you a question, the volume values of the bass and kick, do you still make more volume adjustments during the mix? People always tell me that the kick has to have a ceiling of -11. I know there is no volume rule.... but i think the question is worth it! Very good class bro, continue with the videos! :D
Thank you Rodolfo! Yes, I tend to adjust the levels a little bit as I build up the mix, but the ceiling (-11dB vs -9dB vs -6dB) does not matter as much as the balance of volume between all of your elements, obviously you need to keep a certain ceiling so that your mix has headroom in the master channel when you all of your elements being played together. Make sure that your kick and bass are the loudest elements in your mixes, no matter what your ceiling level is. Also, kick and bass need to have roughly the same loudness between them.
Heyy I have a problem with my bass. It has a lot (like, a ton) of low end and even if i try to cut it AND it has a lot of highs, it sounds more like bwwwwwwwwwwww together with the kick. Kick and Bass are alligned though. Thing is that I do not use Serum but Sytrus for the synthesis.
Although this demonstrates an interesting / creative use of multi band splitters as eq shapers (because they change the phase relationships), how can you talk about phase without looking at the resulting phase changes to the BASS and the relationship that this has with the KICK via an oscilloscope?
I would imagine that first 1/16th note would have changed in its phase relationship to the kick...? 🤔
Great Video! It helped me a lot to understand, what I'm doing wrong in my bass progression. I always had Problems with the Loudness of the Bass and matching it with the kick. Now I know a way to avoid this Probelm, with setting a Limiter on the bass. That's what I needed, otherwise my way of creating a bass was near to your kind of production, but yours is a bit better. So I will try it in this way, I think it will sounds a way better as it does actually. So a big thanks for this Video, there a so many kinds of tutorials how to produce a Bassline, but many of them are lacking informations of what is needed and the explanation why I should do that. And it is all well explained here. I love it! That's what new producers need, a good tutor like you!
great *.*
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great! How about those really crunchy/gritty psy trance basses that hits on the off-beat and takes up half a bar instead the rolling ones? (kinda like melbourne bounce)
When I try to extend the decay/sustain on the shorter notes I don't like the sound of it. Also that gritty texture that cuts through is missing. Any tips on that?
Thank you for the suggestion Bob! And yes, I will make a video about layering your bass to cut better through the mix
You were EQ the 1st and 2nd harmonics, but you were increasing at 100hz which is the 2nd harmonic, but reduced at 75hz instead of 50hz where there was a dip in the analyzer, I believe the 1st harmonic was at 50hz where there is a peak. What am I missing?
cant i make this just in serum without exporting the sound into audio?
where does envelope 1 go? what is it routed to?
How do i do the sampler part in fl studio?
the plugins from waves look really easy, do you know any of these you use as free (not waves but from another and look kind of the same) Transient shaper,Saturator etc.
There are many free saturators and transient shapers out there, unfortunately free multiband transient shapers and saturators are really hard to come by. But when it comes to multiband compression you can use the native that is included in your DAW (Ableton, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio etc) and it will do the job!
Wich program is this?
Which software is this
how do i do the sampler part in fl studio? :(
Love from 🇮🇳
🙌🏻
I wish the processing part was easily transferrable to flstudio.. the first part was great really explained serum side of things.. thanks also the P is silent in Psytrance.;)
wdym? pretty much every daw has those
How dod you change the ENV decay from ms/s to the 1/16 note, and also type in the sustain value as opposed to dragging it in the ENV window?
Love this tutorial by the way, thank you!
Go to global tab in serum and check the box that says "Double-click for typable values on controls"
@@dandliontv6892 thank you and apologies for the silly question, I did find it when you showed it in the video moments after I posted the comment.
I've pm'd u in Facebook regarding one of your posts there. Fantastic music by the way, love it!
@@phonzmusik1580 Thats not a silly question at all haha. Glad i could help. Thank you i appreciate the compliment!
Thanks for the video! At 10:30 you say that there's always a little bit of low mids that you want to clean up, but didn't give any reasons for that. If you have time, could you explain a bit more? Because before cleaning up the low mids, the bass sound didn't sound bad to my ears, so I am kinda confused about why we do it.
Yes! It's important to clean out "boxy" and "muddy" frequencies in the low mids because 1: they don't sound very good on a bass sound and 2: when you start arranging your track, a lot of your leads and other instruments will have their fundamental (1st) harmonics around this area as well, and all of these things added up together will make your mix sound muddy and not very clear! So it's a good idea to already take care of it early on 😁
@@MiddleD Makes a lot of sense! Thanks for that clarification and that super quick answer :) ! Now instead of copying, I'll know why I do it, haha!
@@MrXav360 Of course! Anytime 😉
Great video!
Which monitors do you have by the way?
Thank you! I have a pair of Adam F7
@@MiddleD Alright thanks
I'm considering to buy the t7v
@@synus2834 Look into the Neumann KH120a's if you're willing to shell out a bit more. I have them and they're _very_ accurate compared to other monitors I've tried in their price range.
As soon as minute 1 I noticed my serum default setting doesn t sound the same at all than your...
dude, i tried to follow you on FL studio, but im stuck at 5:00... its the real art to find my way :D do you have also FL Studio?
in mixer channel can select your bass line where is routed and then in left corner of mixer click for option/disk recording/render select tracks to wave file
Is fl studio just as good ?
can you pass the download the preset? i use fl studio, and i can't keep up with you and make the same choices through FL studio.
You said nothing about Linear Eq latency maybe created. It is important to align Kick and Bass, right?
It can be, but it depends. I have a video about aligning kick and bass as well in the channel: czcams.com/video/Ka3t58i93a8/video.html
