That is ONE solid and phenomenal school--changing the world one student and teacher at a time. In addition, it has to be the prettiest campus in the US.

Wisconsin is consistantly the best in the nation at every sport and THE hardest school academically in the big ten. Yes, it has a tougher academic standard then even Northwestern one of the reasons Gary Anderson and Belima left. So to say its only for jocks is a truly ignorant statement. On Wisconsin!

Not entirely true - Wisconsin is definitely one of the BTs upper tier schools, my son goes there, but few metrics support it being consistently ranked ahead of Michigan, Northwestern, Rutgers or Illinois. All four of those schools have higher admission bars/average test scores amongst their student bodies, Illinois and Rutgers by a slight margin, Michigan and NW by a significant margin, and all those schools aside from Rutgers also boast clear ultra-elite top 5/10 in the nation departments - Business and in several of the arts for NW and MIchigan, Engineering and Accounting for Illinois, where Wisky doesn't really hit those elite levels nationwide in any department as far as I am aware (at least nothing that's a juggernaut the way say Illinois Engineering is, where it consistently ranks top 5-10 in the nation in virtually every field of study within that department). Nor does Wisky rank highest with employers in the BT - Wall Street Journal did a poll of employers favorite campuses to recruit from a few years back and Penn State, Illinois, Purdue and Michigan were the clear concensus winners when it comes to fortune 500 recruiting. All this said, Wisky is still a fantastic school, and what it does offer that many of their more career-prep focused BT counterparts do not is a broader, far less major-only eduction for all its students, and that is to be celebrated, especially at a large state school. And among BT schools it's campus is second to none save for possibly Indiana.

I would say Northwestern and Michigan are the best academically but Wisconsin is a great school

@@dmcqsf not sure where ur getting the info that Illinois & Rutgers are better academically and harder, but according to the Common Data Set reports from all three of these schools Wisconsin overall boasts a higher SAT/ACT average, higher average High school GPA, also boasts elite Business, Engineering, Biology/Pre-Med, and CS programs. Across practically all reputable ranking sources is ranked higher than Illinois and Rutgers, and on USNews (the most well known ranking system), has always ranked higher as an overall university. Its also been harder to get into than Illinois and Rutgers, overall, for certain departments there may be a difference but thats for all schools, with the exception of 2022 where Illinois accpt % fell to 44% where Wisconsins stayed at 49%. But for 2023 Wisconsin has an acceptance rate that also plummeted to 38%. Wisconsin is also a better research institution by far, compared to Illinois and Rutgers, and even Michigan and NW.

@@dmcqsf Summary: Wisco is a higher ranked school than Rutgers/Illinois, for the majority of the years from the past decade has had a lower accpt % & higher most recent ACT/SAT avg than Illinois & Rutgers. Honestly Rutgers is much lesser known compared to both Wisco & Illinois not sure y u decided to include it in ur comparison.

Top 10 public institution and top 5 research institution. Get real. They are one of the few schools in the country that holds the same admission standards for student athletes as they do for all other applicants. A lot of commits get denied admissions.
