  • The journey through the beautiful region of Boyacá keeps going. In this episode, I'm going to take you to some of the out-of-the-beaten-path places in the heart of this department! We'll visit Monguí, with its rural vibes and one of the oldest bridges in the Country (it took over 100 years to build it!). After we'll get to Duitama, we'll stop in the cute and charming Pueblito Boyacense (a replica of all the best towns spread around Boyacá), and a bit of history with the epic battleground of "Pantano de Vargas"! Watch this video before going and add these places to your list! :)

      Paipa is a great destination for outdoors sports and wellness. And there are other historical spots such as la Hacienda El Salitre, build in the 17th century and very well preserved. It is currently a hotel and it's way more interesting than Pueblito Boyacense, because of it's architecture but also because it served as headquarters to Bolivar and his army.

      Mate Paipa is probably THE SPOT for hot springs. It is a nice town but the only reason I ever go there is because of the hot springs. I highly recommend La Playa.

    ...'El Puente de Calicanto', was built by 'indigenous people' (Native Colombians sounds nicer) WITH THE "SUPERVISION" OF THE SPANIARDS ... that's a very subtle way to say it. LOL.

    • @GianmarcoFochetti
      @GianmarcoFochetti  Před 5 měsíci

      There is nothing wrong saying “indigenous people”. It’s also technically correct saying “with the supervision of the Spaniards”, everyone knows that they were forced to do so, I just didn’t want to start a “history class” about how Spanish treated native people …
