@@StonyDilithium And yet I guarantee if someone kept referring to Gary as "she/her" all the time in person he'd get pretty pissed off because those aren't his pronouns.
@@StonyDilithiumyou used three pronouns in your comment.
@@SPM0717 Problem is, Gary is an actual biological male. That is a fact. The people who complain about using pronouns as a personal identifier are trying to force the world into accepting fantasy. There is a difference.
Capaldi was wasted as the doctor so much talent so much lack of writer talent.
Yes, but even then some of his episodes were well written and are the best Doctor Who we've ever witnessed. There was just a lot of filler episodes they gave to token writers who regularly deliver stinkers.
I agree. The Capaldi era was, for me, when things started to go wrong (nothing to do with Capaldi). I didn't like the writing style at all. IMO, in three seasons there were only half a dozen decent episodes.
No. Capaldi was fantastic, best doctor and some of the greatest episodes ever. But Doctor Who ended with Capaldi - at least for me.
@@bjornreichert1401 I am saying he could have been shouild have been this generations doctor but they started the agenda.
I don't care what the consensus is, Peter Capaldi is my favorite New Who Doctor and I really liked most of his episodes in seasons 8 & 9 and some of the ones in 10. And I think Heaven Sent is the single best episode in the show's history. Of course, I also thought Moffat was a better showrunner (and a much better writer) than Russel T. Davies, which is of course not the consensus, but I imagine more people are coming over to my side at this point about Davies...
Capaldi spent most of his final episode saying he wasn't going to regenerate, and in retrospect I really, really wish his doctor didn't change his mind at the end. An adventure with the 1st Doctor would have been a fitting place to end the entire show for good.
I've come to realise that them re-writing old beloved franchises isn't about laziness or not having any original ideas it's about destroying everything that straight white men love , that's the goal!
I'm glad more people are finally starting to admit that.
“No one grows up wrong.”
The real Doctor went literally back in time and changed how a man grew up in A Christmas Carol.
*Davros has entered the chat* 😋
John Lumic also aka the Cybus Cyber Controller.
in utopia as well, the doctor literally tells jack that his existence is wrong
Gosh that episode made me cry
Why they never explored the Doctor's daughters is beyond me. They had ample opportunities to create a "diverse" spin-off without touching the doctor himself. But evil can not create, only destroy.
Because unless they're timelords with magical Tardises also, it would be too hard for Disney to write contrivances for.
They rely on "tardises" and "multiverses". Without them, they'd have to hire skilled writers instead of kids out of college that will push narrative for 1/10th the salary
@@bjornskivids Not sure I understand. You know about the episode "The doctor's daughter"? I'm not specifically talking about Disney. I meant instead of making the Doctor a person of female persuasion and destroying the show completely.
what do you mean evil cannot create?
Yes, it always seemed strange they simply left her behind. I seem to recall she did pop up in a single episode later, though... Unless, that's just something I remember thinking would happen... lol

The Doctor died with Capaldi and his final words ring true in every way, and there is no way this is all Disney's input as the interviews, the paid for reviews and the attacking of fans all comes from the BBC, RTD and the cru-babies. RIP Doctor Who!
Right down to the moment JW tries to fly the TARDIS, and the old girl says "the fuck you will" and hoofs Dr Karen outta there.
That's it. That's the end.
Capaldi was my favorite.
If Dr. Who is ever revived it should start with that regeneration.
I wish Capaldi's doctor was written a little better, but I still loved him!
@@Zanroff So true, as even any interview he does now he stated he hated what they were doing to his doctor and he said that his final speech was 100% his input as he put a final stamp on his doctor and stated he'd never return to the show after everything.
So RTD doesn't want to associate disability with villainy but he's fine with associating drag/trans with villainy?

No. Because in RTDs head, thats not a man in drag. That's supposedly, actually, a woman.

Funny enough a lot of people forget that one of the original people who worked on classic Doctor who way back in 1963 was gay though closed at the time and if you're wondering who I don't remember the name
In the words of Capaldi “Doctor…I let you go”
Jon Pertwee's son, Sean Pertwee, would have made an excellent Doctor Who. This new guy seems just too creepy.
Good shout, always loved Sean. I’ve always hoped Idris Elba would be Dr Who (I think he’s slightly too old to be James Bond now). The doctor was always a mysterious, charming and powerful entity, I’d even hazard saying he’s meant to be a bit unpredictable and manic, he’d be perfect.
@@aethersurfer6793 Well said. Paapa Essiedu would have been a good Doctor. Very good versatile actor but he’s straight so wouldn’t have been on RTDs radar. I think the show will cancelled by 2027. Which, while sad, is a good thing under the present BBC, who will never cast a white straight male in the role again. It will need the ending of the licence fee for BBC then needing to make a profit with getting bums on seats to change their current mind set of couldn’t give a Monkey’s attitude. Remember, Eastenders fell below a million viewers and they still wouldn’t stop the the constant plots about the LGBTQ community.
Well said sir he would be excellent just like Gotham and dog soldiers

Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to call it the Nepo Babies? Everyone involved is here because of what they are and who they know. Talent is not a factor.
The nuclear winter bit was straight out of Pyramid of Mars where Tom Baker showed Sarah the possible future where Sutekh destroyed everything.
Except Pyramids of Mars was actually decent.
@@GareWorks Decent? It's a fucking masterpiece.
@@MrPyroCrab
Agreed. Arguably the best story arc ever.
@@solaire-jd8jd Fun fact, Sutekh returned to voice Satan in The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit. Bring Gabriel Woolf back was a great throwback to the Classic era, especially since a lot of people probably don't even know who he is. It shows there were people who genuinely cared in Russel Trash Davies' first era. I expect Elizabeth Sladen asked him to come back considering they worked together on Pyramids of Mars.
On behalf of what little sanity remains in Britain, I apologise Gary, and to all the wonderful people in the great USA.
For every fan that leaves you're going to gain 3 to 5 more fans of the "modern audience." Hmmm, interesting theory. How has that worked for Star Wars and Marvel? The last time I checked, they drove off fans, and now they are dying.
Literally the whole plot of that farting alien woman RTD wrote in the first series of NuWho was all about her being turned back into an egg so she could be born again because she was raised wrong.
"no one grows up wrong"... So they're excusing Hitler, Stalin, Mao....?
I will maintain forever that, despite my general dislike of nu-Who, Peter Capaldi was PERFECT as Doctor Who and could have easily stood alongside the classic Doctors. He was entirely let down by atrocious writing and typically naff BBC production.
I always thought 3 and 4 were the best plus they had the best Companions, Leela and Sarah Jane Smith.
"Jinx Monstrosity" 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Doctor Who ended with Capaldi. And even then, New Who was never quite as good as Classic Who.
They call it a reboot, but they bring up the timeless child. And he also mentioned Susan and when he lived on Ters Lane.
it is not a Reboot regardless of what some say . The reason Susan was brought up including Who he is Who the Doctor is and such is because it is for new viewers so they don't have to feel overwhelmed because there is so many seasons before now and this is now considered Season 1 but does not start from scratch .
It's totally a reboot in name only. Susan, The Rani, The Timeless Child, the Toymaker, the end of Gallifrey... newbies will be lost. RTD has turned the show into ehat Star Wars became, not a new story, but a show that exists to reference itself while jangling keys and presenting incredibly well polished turds in place of good writing.
@@captbuckyohare5585Crap on a space cracker, they’ve even done my girl The Rani bad in this new iteration? I remember being so excited trying to figure out who Michelle Gomez’ character was going to be - was she Romana gone evil? Was she The Rani reborn? Sure, she ended up being The Master somehow (which is fine - which is great!) but I was always disappointed that The Rani was forgotten to the annals of time.
I hate everything about these new versions of Doctor Who. I’ll stand by my defense of the first two Jodi episodes, and there are bits I like from Jodi’s finale with Ace and the 7th Doctor, but that’s where I draw the line and no further will it go. They could shelve Doctor Who for another 20 years and I’d still have to think long and hard about giving it another shot.
Not only is it a reboot but because they are in a universe that has mavity as a universal constant it is an alternate reality, so this nonsense doesn't involve previous Dr. Who timelines.
RTD obviously doesn’t know anything about babies. There was an orphanage in Romania were young infants died not because lack of food but lack of physical contact. Hugging is extremely important for a baby. Neglected they die!
Nick Freitas just did an interview with an economics professor who adopted a toddler from Romania back when, she talks about that, having first hand experience, and the need for a mother’s presence. She says her son is doing well, having had the human contact and mothering after adoption, , but the emotional and mental stunting that neglect causes is scary !!!
My ideal ending for the Doctor is the ending scene in the 50th special, where Tom Baker as the Curator talks to Matt Smith's (11th) Doctor that Gallifrey is still out there. I like the idea of the ending being that the Doctor is forever travelling and searching for his home.
I am not venturing beyond that nor giving any of this "modern audience" my time. I rather dive into the classic Who and the novels.
They can shove the Nurse What aka Doctor Woke.
the Star wars fans, the Lord of the Rings fans, the marvel comics fans, are welcoming the Dr Who fans in the club of "trashed IP's i used to love" , we feel your pain !

I have seen every episode since Nov 23rd 1963, it was my 5th birthday and I fell in love with the show, but dear god that ' space babies' episode was abysmal, contrived, no element of danger for the dr or companion, a 'monster' made of snot, I thought Colin Baker's 1st story The twin dilemma was bad but compared to this bollocks it is a masterpiece
Well the stepping on a butterfly thing was stolen straight out of a Ray Bradbury short story….and now the doc has the power to bring stuff back to life?…..from a fan of yesteryear who grew up starting with the Tom Baker years it really looks like doctor who has turned to shit….it all ended when Peter capaldi said “ doctor.i let you go”
I've been watching Doctor Who since the Jon Pertwee era and stopped watching it (as many others seem to have done) at the third episode of Jodie Whittakers run
I found myself not interested enough to buy the second series of Capaldi's run. I gave him one series. So I never got polluted with Jodi. But it's sounding like they wanted us former fans to reconsider how awful Jodi was (after seeing how much worse it can get).
The tragedy is we were denied a season of Paul McGann in 1996 during its first American launch 😢 😕 😞

I’m torn, Moffat was always the best New Who writer, right up until he got burnt out & the BBC’s DEI department started micromanaging him.
On one hand, if his episode is trash, than all of our heroes truly are dead, however, if he writes a banger like “Blink” or “Girl in the Fireplace”, it might fool people into thinking Doctor Who is good again and they might watch more new episodes?
He WAS great but let's not pretend the DEI crap was pushed on him, he jumped into the deep end of the crap pool. He is the current reason "The message" is being pushed onto who rn
@@kraven94365 I have no way of proving this, but even in his most recent interviews, Moffat makes some “problematic” jokes.
He also seems to still understand what the Doctor needs to be, which enigmatic.
He’s a pacifist who has committed genocide.
Moffat’s description of the Doctor was about these contradictions, that the Doctor is “limp wristed” but he’s also really masculine.
He’s a genius, who can be dumb and ignorant about things.

Ncuti Gatwa is definitely the British Big Gay Al. I'm just waiting for the episode where he belts out: "I feel thuper! Thankth for athking!"
A 'whopping' 2.5M people tuned in, which is (just) the second lowest viewership for any episodes (guess whose was the lowest?) of the modern era. But unlike the FFDPBJW era, this will be the high point, because the episodes were deliberately scheduled prior to the Eurovision Song Contest final. I bet the next week's single episode will just top 2M, and the series finish between 1-1.5M live viewers.
Nurse What?
I'm sorry but I couldn't bare to watch more than 15 minutes of this. Hearing about the destruction of the doctor at the hands of a conspiracy of his own creators and the house of the mouse is just too painful.
But I'll say that the fact that they did a bi-generation almost makes me think someone at the BBC knows this is doomed to fail. When it does, they could bring David Tennant out of retirement and attempt to reverse all the damage. I just wonder if anyone will forgive David for his role in the specials. Who am I trying to kid? The show is dead. They murdered it. If not already dead, definitely on life support.
Tennant is on camera saying we're "on the wrong side of history" amongst other things. He can't save it. Nothing can. It's dead.
David Tennant can't save it, he's actually on board with all the woke nonsense.
It wasn't long ago that people were calling for Davies return to "save Doctor Who"...well, we got it. And look where we are now.
Your forgetting the little buried gem, that was Doctor Ruth, the first Black Doctor Who. So amazing acted the pants off Jodie, without even trying. Why oh why could they not have followed that idea.
Should have done. She was great. A brilliant actor lifts even the crappiest dialogue, so she could have carried these episodes.
Oh wow things must be bad, Gary's brought out his bowler hat! Love it.
They're building a show around their message. 'Rot at the core . . .', Frank Herbert
The UK overnight viewership for the last DW show was 4.73 million.
The viewership for Space Babies & Devil's Chord was 2.4 million. The WORST ratings in DW history by far.
That tells you all you need to know.
For me the Doctor Who Beatles episode is when the Third Doctor and Jo do “I am the Walrus.” 🤗🤗
I feel dumber for even watching the first two episodes. Disney kills everything pushing the message.
it’s clear Russel T Davies doesn’t care anymore, he just came back for the money …. Looks like he wrote those stories in a couple of hours
This extemporaneous review was far more entertaining, educational and wholesome than these two new episodes of "Doctor Who."
I have to give Disney and the BBC credit.
They both have perfected the business model of throwing money literally down the toilet 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I think what they meant to say was that for every Doctor Who fan that walk out, there will be 3 more walking out right beside them! 🤣
Seeing shows like Doctor Who ruined sucks, but fortunately there are over 10 seasons of Stargate SG1 and 4 more offshoot series seasons (plus movies) to offset the loss.
