- How i recover my Lipo batteries , after i left them uncharged for a month. When i tried to use them was totally dead. No charge ,no signal on tester. I was ready to dispose them but i found a way very fast and no extra tools / special chargers. Just a good battery and a cable.
You will see the third battery recover. Before i recover two others. Check the video. - Hudba
I never comment on You Tube... but I have had 3 batteries that blink green.... I literally just did this method and my "dead" batteries are charging now... and I have the EXACT same charger! My hat is of to you man! THANK YOU x 1000000000!
I directly connected my dead ecig ego battery to a live ego battery and thanks to ur idea, I now have two ego battery's that work brilliantly. Thank You
This dude is a bloody hero! Just fixed mine as well! I have three dead lipos lying here at home.. been so frustrated that I would have to buy new ones! Thank you mate!
Thank you very much!
I did the same procedure and it worked GREAT. My LiPo battery didnt have the connections your had..just two VERY small connectors. I used a staple, yes a staple, bent flat and conected a charged battery for one minute, then....My charger took it and it WORKS...saved me $39
Thanks.
It's the same as using a smart balance charger and charge the Lipo as if it was a NIMH. As soon it gets up to 9.5v you can then charge it as a Lipo again. The problem is that most chargers won't recognize a Lipo cell if it goes below 3v. That why you charge it as a NIMH and punch it up to at least 3v per cell. But if you don't have a smart charger, this is a good solution.
I've seen someone asking what about different lipos?
You should be safe using this method as long you use SAME CELL COUNT lipos. This means you should only use a 3 cell Lipo to recover another 3 cell Lipo. DO NOT use this method to recover a 3 cell Lipo with a 4 or 5 cell Lipo. You cant input more than 12v in a 3 cell Lipo or 14v on a 4 cell and so on.
Other than that, nicely done.
It is never safe charging a dead lipo! Under any circumstances
thx man
Can't believe this actually works! Great tutorial, thank you.
I have an inexpensive bench power supply and am charging my completely dead LiPo (Did not read anything on my multimeter, except continuity). It is still charging, now using 5VDC to charge, and the pack is cold and holding 3.6v. Thanks for providing some insight that led to me reviving some otherwise-dead batteries, even if their lifespan will be short.
Ryan Berg and you say you know more about batteries than me and gained some knowledge from this noob thread???? And sure charging dead lico batteries with a 5v power supply is a great idea. And you now assume that just because the battery holds some capacity all is ok again. Dream on....
Had some medical and financial drawbacks recently and several lipos sat to long fully charged instead of discharged for storage and of course "went dead". I safely tried Your method in a steel charging box and saved four lipos. Great tip ! Saw a comment that stated "Purchase new lipos instead of putting Your self in danger". With lipos, just plugging them into a plane or heli or even recharging normally is a risk. I saved money I don't have and got 4 lipos back. Just use common sense and this works.
its great that sombody like you is showing a cheap method how to save a lipo battery on a not difficult way which is WORKING
another upvote. Tried this on my new jumpstarter which refused to charge. Worked a treat.bravo
I just did this and it worked just like you said. Thanks so much you saved me a new battery
Instead of the wires he used i soldered some plugs on either side for direct connection. Otherwise I did exactly as he said and it worked perfectly! TY!!! Battery is charging at this very moment!
Sir, you're a hero !
I recovered 3 dead batteries
Thank you !!
worked for me .my 2s lipo was reading 1.24 now its fully charged thanks for the video
Man, you are great! Just repaired two 2S lipos and a totally discharged 4S
Well I'll be damned, it does work. I just recovered a 4s and now it's charging.
Thanks for the video.
You, Sir, are a legend! Thanks v much.
(Don't skimp on the wire gauge - I used waay too small and after a minute they were hot enough to burn me to disconnect. I reckon another 10s and they'd have burnt out. Not sure what would happen if one of the two connections broke... Bet it wouldn't be good)
Holy, it works! I had two dead LiPo, 11.1V 2200 mA, because I accidentally left them connected & drained completely overnight. Thus, I didn't have any working battery but fortunately, had a wall charger, 9V 2.2A, and bullet connectors. Carefully, I connected the charger to a surge protector - I strongly recommend - and follow the procedure. Voila, it starts charging! Thank you naxiangirl, it's a brilliant solution.
it was very util for me, it worked in my two batteries. It was dead by two weeks. I watch this videos, So, I made the procedure and the batteries are working other time very well.
Thank you !!!
it worked perfectly no needed 1 entire minute you can monitor with the tester , the same risk as having a cell phone charging in our beds, thanks man!
Awesome, thank you so much...recovered 2 batteries with your help!
Thanks!
Putting them in parallel definitely works. Im just curious how many cycles we'll be able to get out of them. Perhaps more with a better charger vs the OEM
Thank you so much this saved me money worked on 3 of my dead lipo's!
Its working 100% ! GREAT ! Thank you Lefteris Sirigos !
left my fpv battery plugged in overnight and it was DEAD! used my truck battery to try your trick and 1:10 later my battery is charging. i love the internet!! thanks Lefteris
Shawn Fitzpatrick So this can also work with a car battery? Im in a bind and I need a quick fix. Thanks!
EKF Productions actually I meant the lipo from my rc truck
2022 and it's still working, I had 1 laying around fast draining and made it to 9.9volts using this method
wow!!!.. I was skeptical and did it as a last resort and it worked!!! on my 14.8v 4s 5000mah thank .you
recovered one 3s lipo, thank you!
dang im surprised it actually did work, thanks guy
You SAVED MY BATTERY thanks man .
Holy crap it worked, thanks dude!
This does work for most batteries, but caution should be used when doing so. Especially with lithium batteries which are prone to spectacular failures. This reminded me that one of my race spec chargers works is good at regenerating over-discharged cells, so, I think I'll use that with a lipo safe, much safer :)
This does work, followed instructions and hey presto working LiPo, thanks.
Πραγματικά δουλευει!!!!!! Ευχαριστώ Λευτέρη!
Your video saved my life, ThankYou
Με έσοσες .... Ένα μεγάλο ευχαριστώ.... Is working this trick. Thanks a lot for that.
Great idea, I will try it.
Thanks
Thanks so much man I got my battery back!!!
thanks alot ! will try that right away ! greetings from zurich!
Μπράβο μεγάλε! Ευχαριστώ πολύ! Δούλεψε!!
It works!!! Amazing thank you so much😅
thanks man really helped me a lot saved me 100$ worth of my rc plane batterys
Amazing, this really worked, saved me $35 worth battery
When you connect the good lipo to the bad lipo, do they have to have the same # of cells and same amperage? For example, will it work if I connect a good 3000 mAh 3s battery to a dead 5200 mAh 4s battery?
It is work....thanks so so very much...it is really work for my baterry...no need to buy new one...
dude, I don't know if this is dangerous or not, all I know is that you just saved me 50 euros... thank you so much
I don't have an extra lipo, so i used the battery of my car and it works, just took one minute!!!
Thank you! This was really to help for me. :-)
What will be the variation in the setup if I want to do that with 1s lipo battery
Thanks bro!!! Its work for my 2s lipo!
Hi, thank you, your idea keep money in my pocket..for a few batterys im gone do the same..good day :)
I did the parallel connection but from the balance wires, it worked just fine since i had two of the four cells at 0v.
Thank you, this saved me!!!
You sir, are a fucking genius!!!!!!! Pardon my French, but what a simple hack... Not being a total neophyte with electronics this sounds like a dangerous endeavour... So to those who read this post, I assume our gracious host means to mention that the suggested hack seems to work, but do not connect both batteries too long! Be careful and cognizant when dealing with lipos! THANKS naxiangirl
What are those clamps called that you connected the dead and the living batteries with and where can you buy those clamps from?
Will that way work on a limskey 3500mah mah 40c 2 cell 7.4v batterie and will i need to set the timer same as what u did or can I set it leaser or more minutes
Great idea. I'd add that you could use the charge lead from the charger instead. It has 4mm banana and male XT60. Easier and safer. Speaking of safer I wouldn't attempt this without both batteries in separate lipo bags and an extinguisher on hand. Better yet in the bags and outside. Thanks for posting.
It works!!!! :D Just fixed two batteries!!!
It worked lol... I did a dead 2cell that was 3.46 and I brought it up 5.94 and it worked... But I just hooked it up to another lipo I just touched the prawns together red to red black to black real quick touched them together 4 times at five Second each time and it worked now it's taking a charge
Really works! I charge my battery 1500 mAh 11.1 V in 2 min and works..
It worked with me. With a 4s 4500mah. Thanks
amaizing man.... its realy working..............
Just did this works perfectly Thanks
I have 3s lipo battery 🔋 when connect it to charger 1s give n response how i can solve this problems
will some other type of batery than lipo revive a lipo or does it only work lipo to lipo?
hi friend, thanks on the video but if i have 1 dead cell and i have 3s battery and the other two ones is 4.2 v and ather 4.1.
and one dead cell , how to fix it?
i need to do discarge to the 2 cell and after try to charge all?
Can i charge the lipo using another li ion 3s pack?
I dont have another lipo
doúlepse! efcharistó fíle!!!
HOLY SHIT IT WORK 2- 2.2 TURNIGY LEFT THE BALANCER ON ONE OF THEM AND WAS DEAD NOW I AM GOOD TO GO WITH 2 BATTS THANKS
Worked for me! Thanks!
Fixed mine!!! Saved me a 75$ battery... Happy holodays too you bro.
+Marvin Pursley Hi, do you know what kind of cable is used here? I tried my XT60 but it doesnt fit in the yellow thing :-S thanks in advance
I just connected my two batterys red to red black to black via two wire that i soldered alligator clips onto.put my battery back in the game.. voltage tester tells me all my cells are good on it
what you have done is actually parallel charging of the batteries, where the batteries are balancing each other out, leaving the batteries to have the same voltage and some amperage after sometime...
should this work with 1 cell lipo? My 1200 mah from my quadcopter got discharged and from my 15-18 min. flight time, it became 30 seconds of flight time. That's a huge difference!
thanks I hope it will work in my case
do the two batteries have to match, i.e. capacity etc
Great video dude thanks! best ideas that I have seen was on Volt daddy (i did a google) Probably the most helpful info on batteries and this kinda things that I have found.
you can use a 12v wall charger too if you dont have another battery. Just need to cut the end off and get the correct polarity and do the same thing. Works the same just dont leave it like that for longer than a minute or the batt could blow.
Wow I won't be throwing batteries out again. I just revived mine too.
I used some spare 240v house power cable between my batteries and did it outside on the drive way.
There was no spark or big current draw when i joined them, but after 60secs my battery was working and back on charge.
It works!!! Thank you!
Will this work if my 4s has 3 cells at 4.2v and one at 1.0v or less?
can i use this process on my 2s lipo by using nimh 7.2v battery ?
plz help me
It was a little bit scary, and some sounds. But it works!! thx :D
Hey I have 3s 11.1v 5000mah battery showing 1 cell with 4v only and no other cell available, checking it with multi-meter 2nd cell shows 2.87 and 3rd 0v . I have 3s 2000mah many batteries , so how can I use them of recover 5000mah battery.?
tkyu its working 100%.... my problem solved
What was the cable you where using
thank you a lot
Nice.. How about if only 1 cell dead around 1.2v?? And the other cell still at 4.1
My batt is dead before i used it..
this balance charger can to fix any battery?
i had to do the 1 minute ten seconds 3 times though cause it was so drained and i used a 3s lipo battery with a bad cell and it still worked great
Can I do this with a car battery? I dont have a spare LiPo.
You need a current limiting resistor in series with those batteries.
thanks, but how badly will my battery be damaged?
In most cases you can raise your battery voltage. But raised internal resistance caused by irreversible changes in chemistry of this battery already persists and there is no way to get rid from it anymore. Which mean that you will be able to charge this restored battery and use it for small current. But it wouldn't be suitable for flying/driving anymore because in can't support large discharge current anymore. And voltage will drop to low voltage level after 10-20 seconds even on 30% throttle. So in fact this battery is dead. You may use it to power your googles or transmitter... maybe.
I'm really scared to try that, I'm afraid i'll set my house on fire ...
Chances are you will have a fire! This is dangerous stuff this guy is telling people to do!
will this work for a 11.1 1000mah airsoft battery
Thanks
Where can you buy lipo batteries on Naxos?
Really nice. You can shorten your 1:10 bei half. Just take some awg12 wires with XT60 between it. Or if you want to spend some Money for even quicker reanimate your dead lipos, buy a 40-65c Battery and do it with it same way. Works great.
ah and your 5v charging is genius. double your rated capacity. Just charge them to 5v. I got 10 minutes more flight time with it.
IncredibleCisco lol. You saved my day.
wow ... i can't believe it worked !!! ... i didn't even use another battery to revive it ... i just used and old computer power supply .. and plugged 12+ to red and ground to black .. and wala... its ALIVE !!! :)
I have 2 dead battries in 4S lipo what I do
