    COD nailed our accent, interactions, cursing and our humour. Absolutely loved this haha, perhaps enforcing pushing some aspects a little to far, but love to see aussieland being involved with such a big game.

      Except you wouldn't sound like this in 1941. Your accent at this point is a mix of North English and west country east anglia accent. The accent aussies are Known for wouldn't be a thing until the Greta migration and the 1970s

Practically almost never, forgotten fronts with huge amount of history and combatants are gonna still going to be left forgotten in the mainstream media.       Besides the 2nd sino Japanese war technically wasn't part of WW2 as it happened prior to the official outbreak in 1939.
      Thus, it would have to be a standalone game

      Its physically not possible...In order to do that they would have to depict China as it was under Nationalist rule fighting against the Japanese....Hearts of Iron IV was banned in China for simply showing Taiwan under Japanese control....so yeah no...it won't happen because they would want sales in China.

    Everyone talking about the misplaced weapons but can we just take a moment to ask why the Major has Slade-Wallace Equipment? Did he think he was off to fight the Boers. I know they want their characters to stand out but really it's nearly 40 years out of date to be used in combat and had even been abandoned for ceremonial duties by the 1940s.

      @@misterfox7210 I can understand that point of view and I wouldn't expect anything to be 100% perfect, but I have been playing COD games since Finest Hour and while it did have its problems ,over the years this whole random uniform and weapons from different times/ places is relatively new and not a change I like at all, you can make a game fun and engaging without having to resort to it. If its multiplayer, then do what you want as far as I care but I do think the story mode should try and at least look right.

      Umm honestly Besides the weapon Innaccuracies I had 10 times more fun playing Vanguard's Campaign than I did with with both COD 2 and World at War.
      I mean this campaign takes 9+ hours to complete on Vetaran compared to 4 hour 30 minutes on Regular.Ive been playing COD since the original and honestly this was an extremely good campaign.
      But it did a mistake in taking inspirations from Inglorious Bastards tbh.But the gameplay level design is 10x more fun and enjoyable than I did with WW2,COD 2 and WaW.
      Gameplay,Enemy uniforms,Locations, Graphics,Villan,Level Designs we're all 10/10.
      And in terms of Historical accuracy I would give Vangaurd's Campaign a 5/10

      The Volkssturmgewehr triggers me tho, because not only it was anachronistic, it was also out of place. The weapon was not used for offensive operations, rather being a last-ditch weapon for the homeland Germans when they're about to lose the war.

      There isn’t a special “desert” uniform per se, just the standard Khaki uniform worn by the rest of the British forces from the time. As for the slouch hats well the vast majority of men should be wearing helmets but really it was a mix of the two throughout North Africa. Last time all Australians were wearing slouch hats into battle was at Fromelles in 1916.

    The more I think about it the more I think they should have had this character be an Indian soldier. If they want to showcase a "master and servant" storyline I find it would've made more sense to show a Indian unit because to show a British officer looking down on Australians doesn't really make much sense since the majority of the defenders of Tobruk were Australian units with Australian officers led overall by an Australian.
    That is unless this takes place in late-August(the Australians were relived by mid-August) then I guess you can make the argument that this unit is just the few Australians that were kept at Tobruk though that still begs the question why a British officer from a armored unit is in command of an Australian infantry unit.
    If anyone has more information that shows Australian soldiers in WW2 had do deal with this then please let me know.

      There is also a VG on Polina's mission as well. It's a VERY inaccurate use of the weapon as it is a last-ditch defensive weapon for homeland Germans.

    This story would've been more appropriate for a World War I game. ANZACs hadn't been under British officers since then, and the anti-authority culture is played up a little. That said, I would rather they ham it up and merge historical facts than leave it out.

      Say the same for the number 4 Enfield, although they were adopted in 1941 I don't think they made it to North Africa until late 42 early 43.

      Especially as the Australian soldiers included a large number of Permanent Military Force Officers and soliders as well longer term Miltia personnel. It was hardly the ramble that the bs mythology of Peter Weir's Gallipoli has unfortunately spawned for WW1 and WW2 Australian solidiers.

      Don’t know, but the Germans definitely didn’t use the STG44 in 1941

      Yeah Australian troops used the WW1 Lee-Enfield MkIII* while British troops used the newer No.4 Mk1 rifle.

      You are correct the Number 4 only saw limited actions in the very end of North Africa Campaign and was mostly saved for north west Europe. In fact as it has been said Austrians never used it sticking with the 1 Lee-Enfield MkIII* formally known as the SMLE until after the Korean war when they replaced it with the SLR
