There’s plenty of guides saying as much but at 7:35 to Cowboy’s left before he goes into the cave there is a flower bed - if you plant a vestige seed there you have the best early game regular and large deralium farm. You can run up from there to kill the 3 archers and their buddy (who can each drop regular deralium) and then kill the big knight (who can drop large deralium) before running back down to rest. Not guaranteed drops but the run is quick (and you can use the Lucky Paw to increase drop rate). With about a half hour of farming you can probably get your weapon up to a +7 or +8, and with an hour of farming you can get it up to a +9.

You should kill: 4 crossbower, 2 big guys and 2 little guys. i don't know how it was "before" (if there was any before) but i'm satisfied. It's soulslike - you shoud be prepare to grind. After this session and getting first rune I bitch slapped big head boss, not for a sec was in danger (me: 81lvl)
I always finish clearing the area just before a new episode of the walkthrough drops. Then I watch the whole thing and if it’s the case, go back and pick up what I’ve missed. I’m enjoying it so much, thx for the series.

10:06 - small correction - you don't have to kill them with ranged. While in Umbra you can hit their stilts, breaking them after a few hits, getting them to drop down.
If you want to cancel a spell, as you were talking about your Aura of Tenacity which consumes Mana over time, instead of pushing the button, Hold it and it will cancel it after about a second. 18:26 Your Umbral scourings are also tracked on the left of the Inventory Screen under your Vigor bar. Next to your PVP hands, Plucked Eyeballs, and Co-op coins. 31:31 There is an item on your left that you run past several times.
Mendacious Visage takes a lot of damage from the forsaken grenade, just throw into the open face & run around while the poison takes effect & then repeat until his health is gone.
I accidentally killed that petrified npc woman. I threw a grenade at her just like in the video and she suddenly died. Is there a way to get her back or is her quest line lost for this playthrough?
If you 2-hand your weapon as you are entering a building expecting a fight, or any tight quarter fight, it will keep your weapons from bouncing off the wall and putting you in that sort of stagger animation that keeps you from attacking.
That is actually good to know, struggling with this very unfun boss fight (imo) and keep just playing something else as I don't want to go back to this
The two holy bulwark guys on the upper path both have chance of dropping large craft materials so you can farm them. The drop rate isn’t great, but I find when I use a rabbit paw or whatever I get one each time, but takes a few runs to get one without a paw.
Been following for a long time, thanks for the great walkthroughs. I was having an issue in Fen and I knew you'd have it done. Loving this game so far, running beautifully on my PC and it's great for a little in-between while waiting for ER DLC and such.
Just for anyone confused it's not bugged where he is using the umbrul sourings. The spot where he is using them is a donation area which eventually opens up more items. You can buy 3 from the vendor, but that's it

I just did the same. I didn't have a fire grenade and I figured if you can throw a grenade from a foot away with fire and she lives then why can't you take a swing with the fire axe? Nope fucked that is she super important?
If you're in umbral you can actually get under those walkers on the tall stilts and break the stilts. they can't hit you when you're directly beneath them. They don't break easy though but for me, it's hard to dodge their poison throws when I'm in a casting or throwing animation.
If you had problems using the empyrean grenade like me, try using the radiance spell cleansing spring. Mine was bugged and refused to throw the grenade.
I know you like to get EVERY item, so to let you know @30.29 there is an item under some boxes you can roll through in the hut directly behind the kick down ladder 😁 love the videos btw- my go to!
those gargoyles dont sit on the ceiling to dive bomb you anymore, they are just sitting on the ground. also, outside that cave is now a ladder you can kick down so theres a direct shortcut from the vestige so you dont have to go all the way around

To take down the “Face” I used the throwable spear that has poison. He does a bit of scene before opening the face, then you charge the throwable spear and throw at a distance. Even if he closes the face, he will take considerable damage over time from the poison even after the face closed.
That BOSS, MENDACIOUS VISAGE (at 24:30)was a joke for me. I run up to that upper platform and he came after me then I jumped down to the arena area and he got stucked/bugged in that camp-fire thing xD that noob. I went out of my way to grind levels and have been using the Bloody Glory grand sword and it has been pretty phenomenal for me, when I holy buffed it, I was dealing around 1k with a charged heavy and it was +4 or +5
that head boss felt great to find on my own. my strat was to poison him with the new javelins we got and then circle him to smash the back of it with my axe
0:30 didn’t he forget the throwable item below as well? I think it is the hatchets. 7:10 that whole hill area is a great early farm for upgrades. They drop regular deralium and the next tier.
Fantastic guide honestly and truly. This game is a disaster though. Spent hours in this are and ended up uninstalling out of shear boredom. No map, no compass, winding paths that look similar and enemies ambushing and swarming with weird combat mechanics. I see why it never lived up to the hype and died out immediately. Looks nice though.
I'm surprised to see how much of navigating areas has changed since earlier versions of the game. At the end of navigating the first little sixe section you have to use unbral to take the ladder to get to, theres now a ladder shortcut leading back to the vestige. In the laat video, there apparently had been a whole section of walkway that lead to ab elevator removed. Im certainly used to seeing little tweaks yo fames ad they get patched, but not usually big noticable changes to how you get through areas

Hey so on PS5 for whatever reason if you disable HDR the game runs 10x better. IDK if this works for Xbox or PC… but I was SHOCKED. I saw a small channel video on CZcams and tried it and the frame rate on performance is really good now other than the short stutter here and there which I still get in Elden Ring is about equivalent. I wish I saw this sooner!! Didn’t find out until the manse of brothers area. It’s actually so improved I played on quality instead of performance for a while and didn’t realize it… crazy

For those who dont have the empyrean grenade (if you havent followed this walkthrough from the beginning) using the sanctify spell will also work to free the NPC from her petrification.
So when I got to her I talked to her hit her with the grenade but then she just disappeared without logging out. I can't see her in the cells is she somewhere else or have I done something wrong any help be appreciated

On topic of endings which was your favorite and which do you recommend i do 1st?
So is there a reason my +6 agonys light numbers-wise seems to be a lot stronger than wilmarcs? Or is there a hidden value somewhere I'm not seeing? Cys right now Agony is 268+61 while wilmarcs of the same level is 178+106. If it's simple math it's obvious which is stronger but if the scaling plays a major factor I'd understand. Kinda wanting someone to explain it for me.
Yo cowboy. Don’t know if you’ll see this, but since you are or have been in contct with the devs, i would like to point out some stuff regarding the faction rewards (pvp, coop, vengeance). You need 184 pvp wins, 534 vengeance mobs and 107 coop boss kills to be able to get all the gear for the two gear related trophies. I, and others think this is borderline absurd. Would it be possible for you to maybe ask them if they have any plans on changing this? I would like for them to either remove those gear pieces from the achievement/trophy requirement or at the very least double or ideally triple the rewards you get from each of those 3 activities. On a side note, apparently no one has the “All Bosses” trophy/achievement. Do you know if this is a bug or if there is some special requirement for unlocking this achievement?
In Australia and New Zealand we get 150 Plucked Eyeballs per vengeance kill. I do not know why, it appears to be some kind of regional thing. I currently have 2300 saved, and have already donated or spent over 2000.
@Satsujinki1973 I'm in NZ and I get 150 plucked eyeballs from not playing online lol not sure if this is an intended thing. Also the donation bar is at the halfway mark.
@@gb9884 You shouldn't be getting vengeance lanterns if you are set to offline. That is very weird. But lucky you. I'm pretty sure at this point everything spent in the shop goes toward the bar, not just donations as some have speculated.

At the 4:00 mark there’s an object that I can lock onto and soul flay. However after it makes a little affect nothing seems to happen. I’m not sure what it’s for. I’ve ran into a few of these later on in the game too.
How did you miss Agony’s Light as a radiance catalyst earlier than this. I have two of them. I have no friggin clue where I got them but I want to say pilgrims perch. It’s way more op that Wilmarc’s catalyst of the same level. Even plus 3 it buries it in damage. By a major amount. Following your guide. It’s great btw. I work all day and if I get lost I get frustrated too fast. Watching your guide helps to give those “a-ha!” Moments and a direction to head in!
The statue has one of the best agility weapons at this point in the game. Has both inate bleed and poison buildup. Just break the statue and the sword is yours.
Same. Considering you can't accidentally or intentionally hurt npcs such as the ones in the shrine this was an ultimate f_cking troll move by this company.
You still missed the Hatchet. Right at the start of the video when you went to grab the upgrade mats, the hatchet is just below them past some boxes...
I have the exact same weapons, same level and same weapon upgrade as cowboy and he's doing 100 damage per hit and I'm doing like 60. We're all weapons nerfed in the updates or what?
This game would be excellent if they’d fix the frame rate problem on console and reduce the mob size by about 1/3. Other than those two things I’m having a great time. Also enemies shouldn’t follow you infinitely imo.
@@DaChapoGuzman Dude, same... I also noticed the game gives you a lot of patches to plant your seed... but hardly any seeds to use. Horrible game concept. Enemies either need to be nerfed or reduce the number of enemies. Artificial difficulty does not make this a souls-game.

Thx. A spent an afternoon farming and upgraded an physical weapon, a purely holy weapon and a split physical/holy weapon to +9 and +4 (boss weapon).
They must have patched that area because now after the first few runs they stop dropping anything at all. Nada

I used the poison Javelin throwable that also worked well.

The big dude dropped some heavy bulwark armor that is pretty sweet. It looks like it has bird shit on the shoulders though.

6:39 these large guys drop the large shards for upgrades… you can farm them really easy to get to plus 9 very early.

For anyone who doesnt have any ranged abilities if you soulflay the walkers (stilt mages) it knocks them off their stilts

Also when fighting Mendacious Visage, when it summons the worm slugs, if you roll through them you can dispose of them without taking wither damage.

The side route you took you can farm it and get a +9 weapon right after the flesh congregator helped out a lot
You can brake the stilts without taking damage and then kill them on the ground when they fall too.

On a side note, apparently no one has the “All Bosses” trophy/achievement. Do you know if this is a bug or if there is some special requirement for unlocking this achievement?
In Australia and New Zealand we get 150 Plucked Eyeballs per vengeance kill. I do not know why, it appears to be some kind of regional thing.
I currently have 2300 saved, and have already donated or spent over 2000.
@Satsujinki1973 I'm in NZ and I get 150 plucked eyeballs from not playing online lol not sure if this is an intended thing. Also the donation bar is at the halfway mark.
@@gb9884 You shouldn't be getting vengeance lanterns if you are set to offline. That is very weird. But lucky you. I'm pretty sure at this point everything spent in the shop goes toward the bar, not just donations as some have speculated.
@@Satsujinki1973 could it be that I have a Playstation online subscription but choose to play offline? Strange bug. Maybe it wouldn't work at all if I didn't have an online subscription.
@@gb9884 I will have to test it with my Xbox. Because I only play online for the vengeance kills. I don't like the invasion side of things.
I guess I will have to attempt to do it to get the hands at some point.
Played every soulslike in existance and i can safely say this is the worst area designwise. Makes Blightown look like a playground.

At the 4:00 mark there’s an object that I can lock onto and soul flay. However after it makes a little affect nothing seems to happen. I’m not sure what it’s for. I’ve ran into a few of these later on in the game too.
How did you miss Agony’s Light as a radiance catalyst earlier than this. I have two of them. I have no friggin clue where I got them but I want to say pilgrims perch. It’s way more op that Wilmarc’s catalyst of the same level. Even plus 3 it buries it in damage. By a major amount. Following your guide. It’s great btw. I work all day and if I get lost I get frustrated too fast. Watching your guide helps to give those “a-ha!” Moments and a direction to head in!

There are a few conflicts, 2 in particular I'm aware of so I'll be mentioning the choices when the time comes.

The statue has one of the best agility weapons at this point in the game. Has both inate bleed and poison buildup. Just break the statue and the sword is yours.

Same. Considering you can't accidentally or intentionally hurt npcs such as the ones in the shrine this was an ultimate f_cking troll move by this company.
@@gb9884 I think you can kill your NPCs in the Shrine? It's related to the Putrid ending
You get the kurakajin sword from doing that. One of best agility swords

You still missed the Hatchet. Right at the start of the video when you went to grab the upgrade mats, the hatchet is just below them past some boxes...

I have the exact same weapons, same level and same weapon upgrade as cowboy and he's doing 100 damage per hit and I'm doing like 60. We're all weapons nerfed in the updates or what?
This game would be excellent if they’d fix the frame rate problem on console and reduce the mob size by about 1/3. Other than those two things I’m having a great time. Also enemies shouldn’t follow you infinitely imo.
For real, I went to fight the hushed Saint and was chased half way across the map😂 had to use 2 vials before I even went thru boss door
@@DaChapoGuzman Yeah the combo of too many enemies and the fact that they can follow you forever makes the game feel bad sometimes 😬
@@DaChapoGuzman Dude, same... I also noticed the game gives you a lot of patches to plant your seed... but hardly any seeds to use. Horrible game concept. Enemies either need to be nerfed or reduce the number of enemies. Artificial difficulty does not make this a souls-game.
@bphussar I've been kinda holding out to use versitge seeds until I find a good farm spot or not near a "bonfire", I've been glancing at fextralife game progress walk-through to see what's ahead

If you kill the main boss at forsakne fen before talking to the wayfarer are you just done and locked out of his questline ?

so did the developers patch in ladders? when i got right here theres a ladder to kick down. cowboy just rolled off and im pretty sure i didnt see a ladder in his video
