    Sharon is largely responsible for popularizing mindfulness in the West. As one of the founding members (along with Jack Kornfield and Joseph Goldstein) of the Insight Meditation Society, Sharon brought a deep level of mindfulness meditation practice into the U.S. mainstream.
    Here she explains the 4 sublime states:
    - metta (loving kindness)
    - karuna (compassion)
    - mudita (sympathetic joy or empathy)
    - upekkha (equanimity)

    I am sooo grateful to have heard this just now!
    After I digest what I think this may have just done to shift my "be the change" (by adding - drop the ego idea of changing others), I may come back and share the effect it has on my life in terms of dropping certain excuses I have used to become stagnant.... Idk... Seems to fit with the - "I" am the only one I can change...and holy moly...even that is a challenge! What on earth makes me think I can...
    Anyhow, thank you!
