Yu Yu Hakusho is that anime that did everything so well from the story, fighting, character development, music and opening song. I have yet to meet someone who watched Yu Yu Hakusho and did not like it.

"learning a new TCG can be so overwhelming"
That's why I just grab cards with the art I like. I have like half a binder of digimon cards but I haven't played that game a day in my life

Oh, the nostalgia! I definitely cannot get them around here. If it’s not magic, Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh, you can count it out.

Wutizgoinrhyme, here's the one comment "pitch" for UniVersus as a game that you asked for. It may not be a short comment, but I hope it's straightforward enough.
In UVS, imagine that you ARE your character. Your attacks are the techniques you'll be using to try to KO your rival. Your Foundations are the, well, "foundation" of your training. They'll be a source of different effects to use, as well as a resource to help you play your cards. Assets can represent different things, like arenas, tools, or even allies that aren't fighters. And Actions can be seen like events that could happen in a fight.
The general flow of a game is that both players play foundations to build up their "Stage", and then play attacks and/or more foundations depending on what you drew, or if you just want a larger Stage.
When an attack is played, both players can use effects to impact the stats of that attack, among other effects. After that, the defending player can try to block with a card from their hand. Damage is then dealt based on how the attack was blocked, or if it wasn't blocked at all.
Play continues in this way (attacks are played, blocks are made, more foundations may be played) until one player's health is reduced to 0, or a player cannot complete a "Cycle" when their deck hits 0 cards (shuffle your discard pile to become your new deck, remove the top 10 cards from play, and resume the game).
It honestly can be fairly complex, but I am always willing to help teach people how to play the game. Been doing that for years now. If you'd ever like to try learning the game, if you have Tabletop Simulator on Steam, there's a full UniVersus Table Mod that's kept up to date. No official digital client though, since it would be a licensing nightmare with all the different IPs used in the game. I may just be a random person in the comments, but feel free to hit me up if you're ever interested in learning. I am always willing to teach, and can always try to make the time.

Also, here's a simple breakdown of your pulls.
Dark Tournament is actually a bit of a special set. Packs now are usually 11 Cards (6 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 1 Rare or higher, 1 Character), but they added an extra card to each pack of Dark Tournament. That 12th card is a card that was reprinted from the original Yu Yu Hakusho set a couple years back.
Every box generally has, on average, 6 Ultra Rares, and 1 Secret Rare. In a box of Dark Tournament, you should also get one XR Character Card (foil version of the normally non-foil Character cards), and one "Retro Reprint". The Retro Reprint is not legal for the game's Standard format, but it is legal for the game's Retro format, which is the supported eternal format. It also seems like boxes also have one Alt. Art Ultra Rare in each, but that isn't known for sure yet.
Also, the Chrome Rares are the Serialized cards. In Dark Tournament, there are only four different Chrome Rares, all Character Cards (Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei), and they are each limited to 100 copies of each printed. So there are only 400 of the Dark Tournament Chrome Rares in total that can be pulled.
So, this is the breakdown of your major pulls:
      XR Character: Kurama, Youko Unleashed
Retro Reprint: The Toguro Brothers (an Action card, not a Character card)
Alt. Art Ultra Rare: Rose Whip Barrage
      Secret Rare: Genkai's Guidance
      6 Normal Ultra Rares
So it seems that pulling an Alt. Art UR doesn't take a normal UR slot.
Also, if you've actually read all of this Rhyme, I've got a card I think you'd like that I could send your way. Feel free to hit me up, and we can get that sorted out if you're interested.

Oh yeah, last thing. There's stuff coming out for multiple different licenses in UVS this year.
Last month they released a Cowboy Bebop deck and a Trigun Stampede deck (one deck for each IP). Next month, they're releasing two decks for Critical Role, the D&D Actual Play series. The next My Hero Academia booster set comes out in May. A pair of Godzilla decks are scheduled for June. And two Attack on Titan booster sets are planned for the second half of the year, with the first one scheduled for August.
There's also one currently unannounced license that's getting a Preconstructed Deck at the tail end of the year too.
And one of the big draws to the game is that you can combine cards from all of these different licenses in one deck.
Anyways, I hope you have a good one Rhyme. Peace.

At the very least, the card games seem to have the same bones as their predecessors. Pokemon just felt like a watered down MTG and was very easy to learn. Card games like Buddy Fight were carbon copies of YuGiOh.

Unfortunately Universus is essentially a dead game, I don’t even know a single person who plays it lol.
