That "Hey, we're having fun right?" was so depressing lol. I think it's pointless to open vintage packs. Most have all been opened and most of everything has been pulled. Just buy singles or sell the packs for another sucker.

I mean, we buy these cards for A LOT of money. We do hope they appreciate over time, not tank. Most people don't spend 300+ on a card and much less a binder full of them if they just want to collect it because it's pretty. I'm 30 now, not 13. I Love Pokemon for the same reasons, plus the money lol. We expect appreciation from PSA 10s. But PSA is garbage. Buy Becketts

CGC is the worst because their label is turbo ugly.

CGC are bunk , ive seen clearly flawed cards being rated as a 10 .

I think most collectors just want consistency, and that is where PSA seems to be lacking compared to CGC and Beckett. I’m still debating which company I want to send cards to and initially was thinking PSA but am leaning more towards CGC now. Either way I feel like the whole grading industry should have greater transparency and regulation.

For years, I kept going back and forth between beckett and psa. They both have their pros and cons. Honestly, you can't go wrong either way. All things considered, I like beckett slightly more. I don't own any cgc cards so I can't really speak about them. Although, I dont like their grading scale and not a big fan of the label design. The slabs do appear to be very clear, though.

Can you see a sparkly card better in a psa slab or a bgs slab the does sleeve in the bgs slab lightly lessen sparky glitter cards from shining as the PSA slab is see through and let’s you stare right at the card

My overall issue with sgc & psa in specific, is their grading. I can not prove it, but it's been said for years they pick and choose who, cards not people, they give what grade to. and how many they give, not to mess up their pop numbers. To many 10's or 9.5's the over all card value goes down. Collectors will stop using them. My overall opinion is Bgs & psa are good for sports cards Csg is good for tcg The newer compies Arena for sports Tag for tcg Tag is very interesting, they use a.i. no humans are used to grade. They use a 1000 point base system. Once the card is in their system it can never be regraded the computer remembers the card. You can send to other for re grade. SGC is the worse of the bunch. I sent in over 100 cards split in 4 orders and not one graded a 10. All were 9.5 or lower.

As of 6-13-24, Lugia Rises psa 10 is pop 6.

how do you trust a grading service that so wildly changes their rating on the exact same item?

I like CGC the best because honestly, I just think they have the best-looking slabs. (The newer slabs I prefer over the older ones, but I would have liked the sub grades) I also think they have been more fair with my grading VS PSA (I have never used Beckett)

Awesome vid! I found your channel looking to see if every pack from this set had reverse forms for every card in this set. I'm going through my collection and only have 2 reverse cards. they are kabuto and raticate. I've been opening cards since base set, and still open today. I dropped ya a sub!

I do not like graded cards i think it has hurt the availability of just hobby collectors... with that said! I like bgs slabs imo they have a cleaner look even though i own more psa slabs. Edit. And yeah you brought up a good point about the psa gradeing standard. I have some 10's i honestly do not belive should be 10's. Like the centering is sorta off on the back. Theres a little big of whiteing and a slight nick on the bottom left corner. Imo that should be an 8 at best but psa gave it a 10.
