Falcon is a character who is good at pressuring his opponents, Mario is not such a character you can rush down without serious consequence. The weakness is you cannot treat Mario like any other character, if you're constantly pressing buttons you're going to be eating some up airs.

Falcon does fine against Mario, the problem is Fatality. Falcon's buttons aren't particularly oppressive like Fox's or Joker's but Fatality is mashing like they are, which is why NoTag is having such an easy time whiff punishing. Just look at the amount of up smashes he throws out. In Game 2, he dies bc his Falcon Kick got shielded TWICE. That is absolutely on all Fatality. If anything, Falcon beats Mario, both characters have fantastic advantage states, but Falcon's higher ground speed means he gets to set the pace in neutral in most scenarios. Mario does have great shield pressure against Falcon's subpar oos game, but shielding in Ult is often suboptimal to whiff punishing anyway due to high shield drop animation and low aerial lag in this game. The fact that Fatality kept trying to Falcon Dive oos further cements his suboptimal game plan, he should be whiff punishing/intercepting those aerials.
Fatality seems to be under the impression that he is playing Fox or a Shoto, someone with impeccable frame data. He isn't. Falcon has high ground speed for a reason, he should be waiting/baiting and whiff punishing Mario, not preemptively calling out Mario's damn near lagless aerials.
I'm interested to see after a month or 2 where things end up. Right now Fatality has a little grace period due to his extended break, but I'm not sure he'll be able to make the climb back to where Sean is at
Ah Fatality (: when are you gonna learn that you need skill to make it to the top. Losing at locals is showing your true colors. You could see when Fatality panics trying to get a kill, he just spams up-b. It's sad that his fan base considers him a top player
