  • Greetings Bronco People!
Rob here again.... sorry there were no dogs in the making of this video. When it gets over 90 outside they prefer to stay cool indoors.
This video covers the installation and comparison of a Bronco Raptor Bumper and Skid plate installation on my base Bronco. I found the bumper and skid plate for a great deal only a couple hours away so I headed off in the hybrid Maverick to check it out. Other than the skid plate being used to bounce off possibly large diamonds it was in great shape, so home with me it came!
This can also help anyone who wants to upgrade to a modular bumper and understand what is involved with them.
If you have any questions let me know and as always I'd be happy to help if I can.
If this helped you out please give the video a Thumbs up and Subscribe to see any new videos when they become available!

I just bought a used Raptor bumper and in process of painting it satin black to make it look less like a Raptor. I love the look of the modular bumper a lot . It really makes it. Thanks for the helpful video.

Glad it helped you out. It was a toss up for me also in which looks better. I really liked the regular modular bumper because it looked so clean and all simple business. In the end I know there will be more modulars out there if I ever want to go back to it so I decided to go with the unique silver/raptor look. Are you just painting the plastics?

@@TheCorneringStore I am painting the large silver plastic cover and the tow hooks as well. I like the uninterrupted look, hence all black.

Looks great. What's the part numbers for the bumber, cover and skid plate?

Any chance you could share the drill bit sizes used in this vid?

Looks good and lucky, I went to my local dealership and I tried to get the factory skid plate for the Raptor and he quoted me 3K just for the skid plate and maybe the front sliver hooks and other sliver bumper piece, but still to high.

Thanks, it's still growing on me. I like it more everytime I look at it when I'm headed back to the truck. I'll probably put the old bumper/skid up for sale soon. That's crazy that they'd quote you that much. I've seen some people write that the steel bash plate is under 200 bucks so I can't imagine the raptor one would be too crazy, but with the prices, gouging, and supply vs demand lately who knows. I'm sure someone would pay it. I bought this setup from a shop that builds and sells parts and this is from a raptor owner who had them modify his truck and apparently I'd guess he just left his take off stuff there for them to sell.

I’m literally trying to get this done on my rig. 23’ Badlands. I dig the look please post a video of how you ended up sorting out the spacer issue on the skid plate. Cheers!

Did you need any additional parts to install the modular bumper coming from the plastic bumper that came stock on the base model? I’d like to think the bolts all just go in the same place and the bolts don’t need to be any longer than the existing ones that hold the plastic bumper on. I’m going from a plastic bumper to a Raptor bumper. Thanks for any help in advance!

@matttorres8921 everything bolted right up from what i recall. You just need to cutoff the tow hook deals on the intercooler brackets or buy the parts for the non base that don't have the tow hook loops. If you are using the raptor skid plate you will however need a spacer and longer bolt. I've kept the raptor bumper, but moved on to the ABR skid plates.

@@TheCorneringStore Thanks so much for the reply and information, did you end up making a spacer for yours?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Před 15 dny +1

@matttorres8921 oh, I almost forgot. The base plastic skid plate will take significant cutting to fit with the modular bumper. From your question about the spacer I'd guess you are going to run the raptor skid. I didn't get around to making a spacer. I left that bolt out and didn't do any offroading until I had the arb, but I did buy a longrr bolt that I belive would be the correct one with spacer. M10-1.50 X 75. Class 8.8 hex cap from lowes or home depot. Hillman brand. Hope this helps!

@@TheCorneringStore Thanks a ton for that bolt information! I was able to get a Raptor bumper off of a guy locally that had gotten his Raptor Bronco off of the delivery truck and drove it less than 5 miles to the shop that then upgraded the front and back bumper for him. There's not even a bug stuck to the bumper, really stoked to upgrade our Bronco. Thanks again for all the info!
