    My husband & I have lived in Medford for over 40 years and LOVE it! Our daughter, on the other hand, couldn't wait to move to Portland after she graduated from High School. It can get awfully hot during the summer, but the winters aren't too severe. Mrs. T. Brown

    We did visit Medford last April for 4 nights. Your comment about the weather changing the same day was correct. We flew in on a 88 degree day. The next day was 90 and I was in shorts and tank top. After a late breakfast we drove east for awhile and stopped at Lake of the Woods. The lake was frozen and snow all over the place. I was cold but it was a sunny day and just beautiful. We are looking for a place to retire and have family in Grants Pass. Thanks for the video.

    I wish our family could afford to live in Medford! We got to live there with our expenses paid by my husband's company back in 2017 and we fell in love with the place!!! The cost of homes over there is just way out of our price range but that is my dream place if I could pick to live anywhere.

      100%. It's much more affordable here than many of those areas. A lot of the folks who say it's not affordable here are comparing it to how it was 20 years ago, or comparing to places like Klamath Falls...

    I am a Portland Oregonian born in 2000. The same year when Carl “The Duck Man” Barks died. He was the creator of Donald Duck Comics and had help with another Oregonian Cartoonist named Mike Royer on the Donald Ducks comics while at California.

    • @callibor3119
      @callibor3119 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Mike and Carl worked on Donald Duck Comics longer than Bob Iger existed as CEO, twice, and they are not being treated nicely at all for all the work they put into working with Disney as Oregonians.
      We have Oregon Ducks for a reason it is by Mike Royer that the Ducks stay Ducks and Donald stays the mascot.

    • @callibor3119
      @callibor3119 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I am rooting for Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse to be public domain and for the public to give Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney, Hugh Harman and so many others a new light and pass our love for the Disney that we grew up loving and passing it onto the next generations. But it’s difficult since those 2 characters are trademarked.
      I am searching what else is public domain, but our Oregon Duck with Mickey Mouse is being held against the public and I want to be fan of Mickey and Donald like I did when I was kid, before Disney was called “woke.”

    Hello!
    I’m a nurse from the Philippines who’s going to be moving to medford within the year. Are there any major differences between Asante and Providence hospitals, other than size and religious focus of Providence?

    • @BuyingSouthernOregon

      Hey there! Thank you for watching and reaching out. The biggest difference I'd say is the size. Locally, Asante has a much bigger presence with three hospitals and many more employees. They have also been ranked as a top 15 hospital system in the US for a long time.

    Laid back is right almost everything shuts down by 11:00 p.m. even alot of bars don't stay open late on the weekdays. It's also rated as one of the top area to retire so we have a lot of seniors in this area I've noticed. Good point on the politically irrelevant, yes Oregon vote is essentially controlled by Portland lol 💯

  • @dadduorp
    @dadduorp Před 5 měsíci

    Regarding your comment about a person’s views being “politically irrelevant” (due to population size), I think that’s called democracy.
    I live on the Oregon coast in a very rural area, but near a fairly large city. My immediate neighbors lean right and are pretty isolationist-minded. When I go into town, I see people who actually enjoy the diversity and open-mindedness. My immediate neighbors however, hate going into town unless they really need something.

    • @BuyingSouthernOregon
      @BuyingSouthernOregon  Před 5 měsíci

      My comment wasn't about a person's VIEWS being politically irrelevant. It was about the general political landscape in Oregon. The politicians generally center their campaigns around talking points that matter to the people in the bigger cities like Portland, Salem, and Eugene because that's where the votes are. They don't really need to or try to appeal to the needs of the more rural Oregonian's across the state, in most cases. That's what I mean by being irrelevant.

      @@BuyingSouthernOregon optimism is a virtue, Drug addicts dancing naked and marching up and down the street. There is stuff like that here and it is saturated with people who try to tell everyone what to do when they dropped out of highschool. Medford isnt safe or peaceful not by a longshot

    • @BuyingSouthernOregon
      @BuyingSouthernOregon  Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@chrissmith-zb5xo I've lived here 30 years and not once have seen anyone naked dancing in the streets...believe it or not. lol. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but I certainly wouldn't say it's common. Southern Oregon is like many other places in the US and face some of the same issues with homelessness that the entire country is facing. In regards to safety, I share facts about crime statistics in my videos...no opinions about those stats. Safety and peacefulness are completely subjective and differ from person to person. I think that's important to remember.
