- I've been wanting to build a live edge cabinet for the longest time and finally got the chance to do so with a beautiful oak slab! Even cooler, it has adjustable shelving to house electronics and board games. I'm so stoked on this build and hope you guys love it too!

This literally looks amazing. I love that you show your mistakes.
It looks amazing. Totally going to remember that joint compound trick for the future though...
Thanks, girlfriend! So smart, right? Can’t wait to try it!
If you are going to paint over it, you can use this product from Bondo:
www.homedepot.com/p/3M-Bondo-12-fl-oz-Wood-Filler-30081/206680651
It is a two part chemical that you mix, but it dries completely, ready to sand in about 15 minutes. It only has about five to ten minutes of working time after you mix it, so make small batches. They say it is able to take stain but I have not tried that. It works fantastic for painted surfaces.
Most definitely more live edge projects. It looks so good, and the color is spot on. Have a awesome weekend Sam and pops and mom...and puppies....
Fantastic! I'm so inspired! Thank you! I would LOVE to see more videos of you making this kind of furniture!
Thank you! I’m all about that! I love building furniture!

Thank you! Okay! I will! 🙌🏼
Excellent & keep up the good work... One of the best channel ever seen. Furthermore, you share your measurements and details with all your followers for free👍🏽.. Many thanks ❤️
Sam, Keep these up! I'm about to get started on my first live edge furniture. Your videos are some great references. I'm still making those epoxy coasters every week for selling. Good stuff!

Yes I would like to see more live edge woodworking. I love the live edge
Yess! That makes me happy. 🙌🏼
@@diyhuntress I enjoy doing woodworking myself but my job takes about 98% of my time and I dont have many woodworking tools anymore after my divorce. But I plan on getting more and doing more woodworking
Looks perfect, the oak looks stunning as well!
Thank you! So happy with it. 😍
I love the color combo.
Thank you! 😍
Great project. Great video. I'll be using these plans to build an outdoor cabinet for my bar and smoker supplies. To weight down the center of large glue-up panels and boards I bought 25-lb bags of lead shot (available on Amazon). The don't take up much room in the shop and will conform to odd shapes when necessary.
am blown away ! this is just remarkable that u'v built it from scratch !! 😍😍😍🙌🙌
i have already re-painted an old console with a similar blue color and left the top with natural dark stain and it turned out great
Ahah - thank you!
This turned out Beautifully!! Great build Sam!!
Ficou incrível !!! Parabéns.
🙏🏼
Me ha pasado lo de la pintura, pero aun así, después de las capas necesarias, quedas satisfecho, excelente trabajo!!

Awesome piece Sam, great job! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks, Fred! 😍
Only discovered your channel yesterday & got to say some of your finished pieces are stunning 👌🏼
I have owned a power planer for over an year and I still don't know how to flatten a slab. I use it mostly for jointing edges. But girlllll you're so cool for knowing how to
Hahah - it’s a life saver! I actually share some tricks for using one in my dining table video!
Every build you take more risks and it’s paying off, awesome work
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
Great work! You've done some pretty big builds lately and aced them💪 Love the live edge😎👌
Thank you so much! On a mission to push myself and make cooler things. 🙏🏼

It's amazing! That turned out so good, and the top couldn't be more perfect. There's nothing more satisfying that seeing a beautiful raw piece of wood being oiled. :-D Beautiful build!

Definitely more projects like this!
Yess! Have some more furniture builds in the works that I can’t wait to share!

Thank you for the love!
Nice job Sam. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Just found your channel a few days ago while looking for cabinet/buffet build ideas and this and the blue cabinet you built with 2x2 framing has completely inspired me! I'm used to building aquarium stands that need to hold hundreds of pounds and don't have to have a showcase furniture look to them😆. Getting started on the cabinet build soon!👍
Glad you found me! Hope you’ll share your cabinet with me when you’re done! 🙌🏼
@@diyhuntress I definitely will! So far so good! Side panels are done but I learned I need a table saw and a pocket hole jig😆. And since I'm so used to 1x3s and 2x4s, working and framing with 2x2s is a nice change!
So impressive!!!
Thank you!
Beautiful job Sam !
Thanks so much!
Love it!!! I would like to try one soon!
I would love that!
Woahhhh that’s so cool!!!

Stunning work.. Enjoying your vids so far.
Thank you so much!
@@diyhuntress absolute pleasure. Your simple ideas are brilliant.
very nice project, well done. love the channel!
Thank you so much!
Amazing!!!
Thank you!
If you prime with a Shellac based primer it is helpful in both ply and edge banding absorbing moisture and bubbling from a water based latex top coat, and it sands nice to give a really smooth top coat. Good looking project!!
So, so helpful! Thank you so much!
@@diyhuntress unfortunately I learned the hard way on a Murphy bed build where the thin vernier of the birch ply bubbled from the water base paint. I almost pushed the whole shop in the street because I was so fustrated with it.
Love this. Great video
Thank you!
Fantastic!
Thank you!
Really nice job!
Thank you!
love it!
Thank you!
Excellent

Thanks, my dude!
😍😍😍love it! Very cool!
Thanks for the love! 😍
I've got to figure out how to post a picture of this shadow box that I built so you can see it!lol!
This is great! I just found your channel today and having been binging it all day! Much of what you create is similar to what I would like to do for my own home and its so exciting to see that it's all collected on one channel! I don't yet have any tools, what would your top must have tools be? Thanks so much!
What! This makes me so, so stoked! Thank you so much for all of the love! I vote you start with a miter saw or circular saw, drill, and sander. If you’re willing to hand sand, I’d swap the sander for a nailer. You might have seen them, I have some three-tool projects that are great starter projects for limited tools. Good luck on your journey!
Very good ..from Italy
Thank you!
excellent video. I like the way you show your mistakes, we all make them. where did you score that slab? I think on the other half of the slab you should try using Nakashima style butterfly to stabilize it instead of the epoxy - you are ready for the challenge. and lastly I find it incredibly awesome that you respond to all comments!
Very nice
Thank you!
I love it. So glad I found your video on this build. I am planning something very similar, sadly, minus the live edge slab. What is the distance between the bottom shelf and the bottom of the legs. Also, what color paint did you use. Thanks so much. Take care.
very nice
Thank you!
Found you from SawStop mentioning you on Facebook. Subscribed.
Thanks for stopping by!
excellent miss merci pour ton partage a+
Thank you!
You need to also oil the bottom of that slab to help preserve the wood. Otherwise, the top and bottom of the slab will move differently and you will get a cup shape to the top because the bottom will absorb moisture and expand while the top is sealed and remains more stable. Voice of experience.
I did! I always finish both sides.
Super cool! Getting very inspired by your works! If I’m just starting out on DIY stuff, what planet should I buy?
Thank you! That’s awesome! I have a RYOBI power hand planer and a RIDGID 13” surface planer. Both are awesome!
Liked...ummmmm LOVED!!! #woodworkinggoals
Thanks for the love!
Realy realy nice! Hopefully there’s no copy right on it. I think… I have to go in my workshop…
Keep it up !!!
Thank you! Came up with this design on my own and published plans for it... so, you’re more than welcome to replicate. 😊
Great job Sam once again. It is also a shame you don't have second anvil. Wile E Coyote would shake his head at you. 🤣
Thank you! So true! 😂
Great look and project. You should make your own edge bending from real wood.
Thank you! One day... 😊
It looks awesome!! What kind of table saw do you have? I’m in the market to upgrade.
Thank you! I use a Saw Stop job site saw.
