- So stoked to show you how I built these DIY floating nightstands with storage drawers for our new
apartment before I head back to my full time job next week and the builds slow down a bit. This one was so much fun for me this summer - I just worked on this matching set of nightstands when I had some free time, and they turned out so great! Not bad for a woodworking therapy project… hope you all love them as much as I do!

I love the design and the visual appeal of these nightstands. Using the french cleat system was a great choice. It gives such a crisp and simple look but at the same time an elegant look.

Great finish and end result. Would have liked to have seen titebond dark wood glue and soft-close or push-to-open drawer slides.

These are SO gorgeous 😍 I have 2 live edge pieces almost exactly like these and I was thinking of using them flat as nightstands... But that is genius to have them asymmetrical as drawer fronts with pulls! What a great 💡!
Love these! Also, woodworking helps so much with the root chakra so if you're feeling anything like instability with home life, money, housing, food stability, roots, etc wood working can help ground you. 🙏🏼 It's so powerful.

Best vid I've seen for the floating tables. My only critique is when you use the brackets instead of flush mounting, you need and adjuster on the back bottom to screw out for leveling. Otherwise the table is very slightly tilted forward. Excellent quality build. And I love that you didn't use modern drawer slides.
