  • In this Video Corin Explains how to care for indoor bonsai. Although trees naturally grow outdoors these trees are not as hardy and some are sub-tropical species, therefore they can be grown indoors with enough light.

    Merry Christmas Corin! I appreciate (so so much) the fact that you talk about indoor bonsai. So many that do bonsai videos say you cant do indoor bonsai. Well I live in Canada and it's -36 today. Try having all outdoor bonsai when it gets that cold. If you could maybe do more videos on how to keep indoor bonsai happy (yes I realize outdoors is better for trees) I would be very thankful. I just dont have a choice here so some tips would be great!

      Well if this happens to you. Then you should check your soil. Is nearly impossible to over watering if your soil is correct. Always check root and soil when buying a tree. 😊

    I heard you can keep chinese elm outside with protection. Last winter I kept mine inside but with about 6-14°C. This year I moved and could not overwinter under 20°C that's why I decided to overwinter it outside with protection of a fleece. Hope it will be able to survive.

    • @greenwoodbonsaistudio
      @greenwoodbonsaistudio  Před 2 lety +2

      As I mention, you can keep them cooler, but they need to get used to the cold. most sold in UK for xmas will be in leaf and have been kept warm, so best to continue that for the next few months. Putting them outside right away will not do them any good.

      Unfortunately they are the hardest indoor bonsai to keep. In fact we don't sell them due to that. They need to be warm and humid, well watered with plenty of light. They can get upset very easily. So don't take it personally if you struggle with it.

    • @greenwoodbonsaistudio

      That is why we favour a granular fertiliser, as it feeds more consistently for better results. We use Naruko, Phosmag or Bio Gold
