Seen a few Cortina Mk1 - loving especially the Lotus ones with the green details. The Cortina Mk2 is something that I've seen only one time in real - and this has been an estate around 1-2 years ago at a classic car meeting. It was even a left hand drive. Here in Germany the Ford Taunus models were more popular here. But the Britisch Cortinas were also sold here. The Cortina Mark 3 was looking very similar to our Ford Taunus (TC1) from that time but some details were different and the rear end of the saloon was looking way different. Since the Ford Cortina Mark 4 was looking as same to the Ford Taunus counterparts - so in design the TC2 and the TC3 were only different by the name plates. So it is of course interesting to see this Ford Cortina Mk2 Crayford Convertible. Really rare - when only 400 were made then my guess is that only a smaller two-digit survived.
I was offered a Crawford cortina2 in OK condition in late 1970’s for £1000. It needed work and I needed a reliable car so had to say no. Even then we knew it was going to be a classic. In 1980 I bought MGB conv for £150 and Sunbeam Alpine for £150.
