- What’s happening in this movie clip?
Jang enters the room and slowly raises his gun to Lucy's head. And then she reaches 100%. Her body disappears, leaving her clothes behind. Jang fires his gun at nothing. Del Rio (Amr Waked from Wonder Woman 1984) comes in and shoots Jang to death. The black matter in the room disappears and morphs into a flash drive that lands in Norman's hands, thus expanding and completing his research. Del Rio asks where Lucy is. A message appears on his phone saying, "I AM EVERYWHERE."

What’s the movie about?
Lucy (Scarlett Johansson from Avengers and Lost in Translation) is studying in Taiwan and is dating Richard (Pilou Asbæk from Game of Thrones) that she met at a nightclub. When Richard has a briefcase to deliver to the mysterious Korean Mr. Jang (Choi Min-sik from Oldboy), he tricks Lucy and cuffs her to the briefcase. Lucy has no other option but to meet Mr. Jang, who is a dangerous drug lord that kills Richard. Lucy discovers that the briefcase contains the synthetic drug CPH4 and she is forced to work with Mr. Jang as a drug mule with three other men and transport the drug to Europe hidden in their abdomens. However one of her captors kicks her in the abdomen and releases the CPH4 in her body. Soon Lucy enhances her brain capacity and develops her physical and mental capabilities. She uses her abilities to kill the criminals and flees. However her power does not stop increasing and is destroying Lucy who needs to use more CPH4 to stabilize her body. She contacts Professor Norman (Morgan Freeman from Street Smart and Glory), who is an authority in brain capacity, and the scientist becomes her hope to save her. But Mr. Jang wants to retrieve his drug and is hunting Lucy down.

the most overlooked and coolest part of this whole scene is if you look at the 'memory stick' it has no/infinite depth to it almost like a whole universe is inside it.

I love this movie. It took the idea of what could happen if you could use 100% of the brain, based on the old idea that we only use like 10% of it, and created this fascinating storyline.
It's a movie, it's not suppose to be real, it's suppose to tell a interesting story. Just like every fantasy story tries to do. The author creates their world from a set of rules, and builds their story within the confines of those rules.
Scarlett, and Morgan do a great job bring these character to life. I think Scarlett got the role in Ghost in the Shell based off her work here.

the thing about this movie is that she starts manipulating time and space, these things have nothing to do with her brain, so it just becomes one of these crazy B movies acid trips that somehow got a hollywood budget

@@kraken5003 it’s supposed to be sci-fi fantasy.People add on to their imagination and have fun with it.the problem with today’s movie critics is that people tend to be too realistic and stick to the Canon source of information to build a world.this is great dedication to making the reader feel as if the story really took place in a real world but there’s a problem is that sticking to what’s real can limit the use of your creativity and even authencity. Sometimes not everything has to make sense.Lucy is the type of movie where the creators just let their imagination run wild instead of building it on real life information and personally I think that’s what makes a show interesting.

Morgan Freeman is always in every action movie that has a lot of things that doesn't make sense but is very entertaining at 1:18.
If you don't know much about theoretical physics or even delve into quantum thought experiments, Dimensional analytics, speculative biology/evolution or just read up on Ideas thought up by some of histories most amazing philosophers, physicists, mathematicians and scientists, than I'm not surprised it doesn't make sense to you.
Sure, we can argue that the brain uses 100% of it's capacity, but what about it's evolutionary potential? We were also using 100% of our brain's capacity when we were nothing but dumb apes hunting primitive tools and that could only communicate with simple grunts and expressions, but look at the difference between us and them now. The 10% of our brains capacity won't work if we are still using the word "capacity" instead of "evolutionary potential," because it could possibly measure that drastic evolutionary change our brains have taken since and could give us an idea on what it will change into in the future.
To summarize. The question should be, what is our brain evolving into? How will it change how we perceive the universe and our reality?

Part of me wants to make this movie the Origin Story for Earth before something like the Mass Effect Universe happens. The knowledge Lucy handed down, causing the end of the energy/oil/etc race, technological advances bringing Earth to a higher standard and then both good and bad Alien civilizations come to say hi or have a disgust towards Earth and try to limit it's advancement. Something neat like that. Was an interesting and enjoyable movie.

The best thing about this movie - it is original, not some 10th sequel sh1t or a repeat of a previous great movie. Movies used to be a creative art. This movie shows that that is not a lost art.
when I died at age six on a stainless steel slab in a hospital, the one they sew up people on and the blood can be washed off of easily, only I wasn't bleeding, I guess they figured I might puke or maybe they were going cut my arm open to get an IV inserted. anyway, my last words were "am I going to die now " and then I died. the doctor screamed get these parents out of this room the no more sound no sound no light no nothing no time passed it was just nothing at all I was and then I wasn't. Three days later I opened my eyes, i had that IV in my arm. a young man was in a chair reading comic books. he said my mother had just left and I was on 24-hour observation he was glad I was out of the coma because no one thought I would make it. i don't even recall being sick after that , I had shigella , mabey they gave me antibiotics so anyway i had no sense of time passage. i assume they did some CPR and got me back on that table but i had no thoughts that was 60 years ago. And i think i did some good in this life , i know i saved many many lives because of the work i did in hospitals , helping infected dying people like i was saved i guess. Its funny how that turned out really. Like my pathway in life was just pushed down that path . who knows how it all works , i sure don't .

I think instead of this being a action movie based on the myth that we only use 10% of our brain, this should have been a cosmic horror movie where the protagonist is slowly gaining understanding of how our universe was created and how it will be destroyed, and that her body keep adapting more and more until she disappears from reality, slowly losing herself identity until she becomes a part of the fabric of the universe. And even better, from it as a action movie at first with gaining these "powers" but then reveal that it is actually just her shedding her physical form for more knowledge.
