  • The latest North American route for TSW2, 'Sherman Hill' runs various types of Union Pacific freight from Cheyenne Wyoming, to Laramie Wyoming and points in between. The SD70ACe and SD40-2 (SD40N?) complete the add on along with different rolling stock and operations of the modern era. In this video we'll take a look at the old railroad towns at both ends of the line, the industries in between, the rolling stock and engines.
    This'll be the first of many videos covering the route in it's entirety.

    There’s still 40 tracks with a train every 25 minutes on average. The big station is now a museum on 3/4 of it and a nice bar and restaurant on the eastern half. Crew depot next to it. Yard isn’t orange. A lot more dense in person. What people don’t know is there’s an entire underground tunnel system underground from the passenger days. We operate 7000 right now. Tennessee is furthest east we go. From a engineer that runs this route, cringe to see the route but enjoyed your video. Enjoyed and enjoy the info.

    TSW got the yard pretty much spot on, and the tan shop next to round house is pretty much spot on. (it is the steam shop where they store and do maintenance on the steam engines). The round house mainly stores the retired desiel engines like the dd40ax and E8s

    Thank you for reviewing this route addon. I was a little cautious about this route after Cane Creek. It's nice to see the modern Reefers in this game - that's a plus and I think it's the first time that we do see modern Reefer cars within TSW2. I'm still mixed on this route. I may get it further down the road or wait until another route comes around. I would really like to see a route that's just made up of manual switches and have a switching route on TSW2, but that's just me.

    I noticed the route looks a lot better when there is cloudy or rain conditions - The details in full sun seem to get washed out. Reminds me of the problem with ambient lighting they had Sand Patch grade back a couple of years. Need to wear rays, when playing, guess it makes it more realistic...

    The cab isn't terrible...from experience wide bodies have that flat color to it, but the game definitely portrays it as very bright. Contrary to what people may think, those cabs have very dark hues to them and little light gets in. Under the desks are almost blacked out even in broad daylight. The engine sound is awful though lol. Cool review man!

  • @TheMax0005
    @TheMax0005 Před 2 lety +1

    I turn off the step lights and truck lights with external view (3), open the window engineer side and turn the switches off. It's way faster and I can do the rear loco too without getting out. I also set the rear light to dim and turn on the number lights for the rear loco as per regulations. The SD70ACe should have quite a loud cab (nickname: Thundercab). Also The engine is started by air, not by an electric starter (This one is loud too). Sadly It's not simulated in this DLC when you do the training for the SD70ACe :-(

    Thanks for the review I was waiting for this one, in my opinion it looks…. Not bad? But it also looks really really weird? It’s hard to put my thumb on it but the lighting and scenery throughout most of the line, especially Cheyenne is very flat. (Granted it is fucking Wyoming it’s not going to look like the Swiss Alps ) but I don’t know it just looks really odd. You go back to a route like sand patch and you can see that the lighting at the very least was spent a considerable bit more time on. From what I’ve heard they had to get this out by a deadline, why there’s no track three which… whatever. Not like people are gonna die without it but it’s interesting to say the least. The ACE actually doesn’t look bad, they actually got in contact with someone who has horn recordings for the first time in fucking forever.. if not THE first time. so it’s nice to see that ball finally moving. But as far as everything else on the locomotive I don’t know…. It all just looks like they didn’t really spend a whole lot of time studying the weathering and sort of just pulled whatever textures they could get from whatever assets they use. Also from what I’ve seen, (they’re not that high res) Granted again, I’m sure that’s for a good reason.
    Good video, odd route.

      The om board computer screen must read "lead" and "cut in". On the radio make sure it says bank comm on. Release the brakes and depending on length, wait a few mins and take off

      @schnauzahpowahz  Před 2 lety +2

      I made another video w the SH dash 2, as well as pinned a message regarding it as well. I'm not retracting anything. Its DTGs own fault for having the Cane Creek dash 2 as the default loco unless you change the livery, which myself and countless others will not know to do. Maybe for those that hang on every dtg/matt stream are in the "know", but its still their fault for not making it clear, or in a manual etc.
