- Visiting a national historical site, learning about a Filipino hero, exploring Dapitan, and finding the most amazing cafe in Dipolog City...
Just another beautiful day in the Philippines!!
This video is another raw and amazing adventure day in Zamboanga Del Norte. We woke up and found ourselves hanging around the market in Dipolog, before finding ourselves exploring Rizal Shrine in Dapitan. I really love the amount of trees in both Dapitan and Dipolog... not to mention the historical beauty!
OH, AND MAKE SURE YOU GO TO MELTING POT CAFE IN DIPOLOG!
IT IS AMAZING! THIS DAY WAS AMAZING! GO PHILIPPINES!

One of the best things about this part of Zamboanga Del Norte is how close Dapitan and Dipolog City are! Highly suggest checking out these two places (only 15 minutes apart) in North Western Mindanao.
I am currently in Hong Kong as I type this... But expect another Zamboanga Del Norte video :)
Super Apir!

Although you missed a few bits and pieces of information about Dr. Jose Rizal by not being able to visit the museum, but like you said its a good reason for you to come back. I have been to the Rizal shrine numerous times but it never ceases to amaze me each time. Additional facts about Dr. Rizal while he was in Dapitan, he was the first person who devised Dapitan's water system, the actual prototype can be seen at the back of the replica house. All the houses at the compound were designed by Rizal and he helped build each and every one of them, and in those buildings he taught the first batch students of Dapitan which started the creation of formal education in Dapitan, and one of those students eventually became the very first mayor of Dapitan. In Dapitan Dr. Rizal was able to discover three species of animals that were named after him, these were a flying lizard, a toad, and a beetle. :-)
Dr. Jose Rizal was a real genious. He was educated in Europe. Studied Medicine in Heidelberg and became an eye doctor. He also studied in Berlin, Madrid etc. He was a poet, and wrote books about the atrocities of Spanish in the Philippines.
So interesting and inspiring learning about his life
🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇
Jose Rizal was also a polyglot, a person who can speak, read or write in several languages!

A lesson learned from this vid and from you kulas is that we should really visit local markets of each city/municipality we visit to really appreciate the locals. Thank you for the good vibes Kulas and Kumar. More power! #SuperApir #MaoNaDiha #SMILE 😆
I love visiting local markets to make some chika, support local, and meet some amazing people :)
Thank you Kyle for the video. It's really informative.
Your genuine and ardent affection for all things Filipino makes me think that perhaps you were one in a past life. Seeing how you were completely drawn to the wood-bamboo-thatched dwelling made me mutter to myself this guy had to have been a Filipino at some point. And I completely relate as I am, as my daughters often profess, white outside but oh so Filipino inside. Love the grounds of JR’s Museo; bet it’s just as alluring inside.
Ohhh balanghoy ahhh my fave snack, I'm missing Philippines so much already even I was just their this summer.
I've been there last year and so nice place, dapitan.
