Can’t stand people like Ashworth, sell themselves at interviews and where they want to take the club to, their ambition etc etc but as soon as they see the chance of making more money, off they go, they’ve got no integrity and if he goes I hope it fails badly for him, and remember their fans demand success and if they don’t get it straight away the pressure will be on him, here’s hoping anyway.

There was absolutely no chance of Wilson going to the Euros this season after his injury record this last 6 months. However, as you say if they can’t get any cash for him you raise a good point about what to do him.
I am hoping for a win tomorrow, Craig! I would like to include Tino in a back five and rest Miley in preparation for a tough test next week against Arsenal, but that's not Eddie's way. I can see why you like the spy angle, but it's par for the course for changing jobs.

@@johnson_street_IEMD Well if Ashworth had verbally agreed a deal with Man Utd when Ratcliffe first put his bid in that takes us back a couple of transfers windows. So whats to say he hasnt deliberately fucked our FFP up or hasnt been stealing intelligence and tactics plans etc. He wants marching out of the building until we are clear he hasnt been in secret talks with them.

I feel a bit sorry for Wilson, he's been great for us and he's not injured himself on purpose. The frustration stems from the fact that we have two strikers who seem equally susceptible to injury. The result of that is that both are possibly being played when not fully fit.
Sad really but the warning signs were there last season.
i think we should keep wilson as decent backup option. he has never disappoint nufc and has always scored when called upon. i dont get why people starts hating him, everyone has bad seasons in their careers. we should support him in this difficult period. due to ffp restrictions i dont think we will be able to spend much and i dont think from the money we get from selling wilson, we will get any other good striker. so it is better if we should keep him
The longer Man Utd play this out in the press without starting negotiations, the higher the compensation should go.

Ashworth done what? He turned England into the most boring team on planet earth along with Southgate.
He refused to sign a striker for Brighton and left them with Maupay upfront. Brighton went from relegation contenders to Europa as soon as he left.
Newcastle we’re close to signing Maddison, Paqueta and Diaby and Ashworth decided Lewis Hall was a better option.
He never recruited brightons hidden gems like Mitoma, Caicedo etc, that was Sam Jewell, all Ashworth did was negotiate a price. All Ashworth wants is over priced British players.
If Newcastle get Rangnick, he will be a huge upgrade over Ashworth. Rangnick is the bloke who scouted Haaland, Mane, Nkunku, Gvardiol, Keita, just to name a few. Don’t think Man Utd realise that Ashworth is very stuck in his ways of British players.

Wilson has missed 11 games up till now .he has to go in the summer or keep him as a squad player .he scores goals. We need a new striker . Ashworth let him go ASAP. .money talks. We need a midfielder as longstaff is not up too it .yes he sorted 6 goals but that's it. He should be a squad player too .our midfield is shocking. Also a left back who is pacey .Bailey at villa flew past burn .move burn into centre. But Dan knows alit if what's going on .transfers and what is going on in the club . The quicker the better man united take him the better before the summer window. I think Wilson has played his last game.
Wilson isn't worth anything near £15-20m. He was never good enough for England in the Euros.

Time to think beyond Callum Wilson as you cannot sustain a EPL top position with the injury track record he has, sorry to say for Euros 2024 he would be a risk for Gareth Southgate which he will probably not take. This striking debacle is entirely on the club. What idiot believed they could go into this season with 2 strikers when one of them was sick note wilson. Should have been replaced or added to in the summer and given his absence and performance this season to do absolutely nothing in January was criminal. They have absolutely reaped what they sowed!!
I love Wilson, I’ve loved him dearly as a Newcastle player but he shook hands with an opponent and his tit fell off his body. We just need to move him on.
Agree with Craig’s point that there’s an irony in that we kept him because we might not have been able to replace him and now he’s not there anyway.
PS He was never going to the Euros. Watkins and Toney are similar, better and not made of cheese. It would have taken some ungodly form and fitness to even get him near enough to the plane to wave at it (gently) from the terminal.

Dan is finished. I'm bored of it now, it's not the biggest deal, and he will have questions over him now about being a short term fixer, he comes in, gets a bit credit, then is off to the next paycheck before the longer term difficulties appear
Ashworth is not a disaster. Man Utd have different PSR constraints and will have different targets. They’ll be some cross over, sure, but they need different types and positions to us.
Ashworth is replaceable. He has no ‘special powers.’ It’s annoying and Man Utd will slot it into their delusional system of imagined greatness theses days but it’s not a disaster. They’ll get someone else. If Ashworth was that special he’d be at Man Utd or Liverpool or Gooners.
Callum……… oh dear. Love the guy but he’s a classic eg of a chronically badly managed player in terms of physical fitness. If you look how our current players are instructed to stop and report any pains or niggles and are taken out straight away.
