How to empty soda cans with hidden hole. (air-filled cans) Pop Can Collecting

  • A lot of us collect those cool soda cans but eventually they all leak and make a mess in our collection space. The best way is to make them into “air-filled cans” meaning we empty them without an obvious puncture. Here’s a video showing you how to do it!

One time on vacation as a kid, my dad bought me a box of soda cans that you couldn't just buy anywhere. I was so happy that I kept them for special occasions. The less cans I had left, the more special the occasion had to be. I still have two cans left. They expired in '09 and amazingly one of the cans still holds the soda to this day.

The old cans actually hold out much better. I never had a leak issue before, until the Star Wars Episode 1 cans. Those were the first cans I had leaking, and every other cans I collect will eventually leak in 2-5 years. I also found out that cans that has been put in a fridge will leak faster than cans that has never been chilled.

Now I'm fascinated when i discover a tool I've never seen or used before, i immediately want to know what it's for and how its designed to be used. It's handy to know the proper name and function of basic tools, i think it's something everyone should be taught in school as a self-sufficiency skill. So I have a can themed after a game franchise that I got from my friend as a gift a while back, and I haven't dared to open it and I've decided to keep it on a shelf to display. This video just saved my life from having a ruined can, and ruined everything else on the shelf. Thank you kind sir, and thank you for the physics lesson that I shouldn't have needed lmao.

i have a beer can thats 30 years old i kept and it has so much pressure built inside that year after year i keep thinking this thing is going to explode like a grenade one day. but after keeping it sealed for 30 years i just leave it lol
side story when i was young my dad said he left his beer can collection at my moms house. i found it in the basement. found 3 really old molson mini fat beer bottles. i called over 2 friends and we took turns drinking one. once all the beer was gone we noticed at the bottom was some mold type stuff stuck to the bottom. we all thought we were going to either die, or get super powers. suprisingly nothing happened.

That's actually a good experiment with the relationship of temperature and air. This man is right, as temp increases, air expands and (only in a container) creates more pressure on the sides.
In the air however, hot air creates low pressure since it expands out and up.
