I like how Ron smiles a lot in his videos. It makes it really wholesome.
Thanks!
@@RonCovell you are a creative thinker your ability to recreate the whole Bomber seat 💺 is amazing iam happy that I have found you on CZcams videos you make many people who are not into metal shaping to look into this even further have an excellent Saturday afternoon bye from 🇨🇦 #YSW respect back to you Ron Covell you are an intelligent Metal Master
he's adorable
Kind of a Bob Ross for sheet metal, in a very positive way.
I'm always impressed at how you make such complex objects using simple forms, like when you make the templates and then the wood parts, all of that to bend the metal to the perfect form. It's really awesome!
Thank you very much!
My daughter wants to video knitting and asked me what I like in builder/maker videos. I will show her this, a perfect example of basic filmmaking skills and snappy editing making a complicated task easy to understand.
Also, I now know how to make a basic bomber seat.
I sincerely wish you both the best, in your respective areas of interest!
We're honored your posting
I appreciate that!
The fasteners along the seams, rather than welds, give the seat a sort of industrial aesthetic, which I like very much.
I like that look too. Rivets are often used for this work, but I know that not all of my viewers have a rivet gun - or even an air compressor to drive one!
At the beginning of every video I can't imagine how he's going to pull it off, but by the end I almost feel like I could do it myself!
Well, you probably CAN do it yourself!
Watching you effortlessly bend metal to your will, while simultaneously educating the rest of us in such a calm and professional manner is very soothing. I really enjoy your videos, you have a knack for making the seemingly impossible, possible, for all of us laymen out there 👍 Thank you for sharing!
Wow, thank you!
Well said, RGL!
I'm sure most of the viewers, myself included, think the same.
High end craftsmanship with simple tools is a rarity on youtube, thank you for this vid
Slim Picken's would have loved this!
Dr. Covell or: How How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bend
I love what you say!
Great Video! When I woke up this morning I didn't think I was going to become smarter today, but I did. Thank you Ron!
Excellent!
Bob Ross of sheet metal
YOU ARE AN ARTIST INSIDE.
AND A BLESSING TO WATCH.
ALL THE BEST.
Thanks so much!
Oh, look at Ron with his fancy fine tooth blade on his jig saw :D
Thank you for making this video, it looks quite approachable this way.
You're very welcome!
Lovely.
I just got into sheet metal working at home and a new world of manufacturing opened up 😍
Fantastic!
These seats are true masterpieces.
Maybe you can make some for yourself!
@@RonCovell With talent and experience... maybe. Seriously, your creative demonstrations are for me real artistic performances with real power and not stuffs that comes out of a 3D printer or with a horrible finition with mold join.
You are unique 👍🏻 i’m a welder
I learn a lot from your videos
I appreciate it thank you so much 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Ron, you’re like Bob Ross of Metal Bending.
Thanks for the very nice compliment!
I feel like watching a life time experience of metal fabricator, thx for sharing. Hope i can restore my old peogeot seat with a bomber seat :D
I hope you can, and will!
Really great video Ron! I love that you have taken the bomber seat project and used it as a vehicle to show very different fabrication processes while still building clean and beautiful parts. Being able to build a beautiful part with a shop full of specialized tooling is great, but distilling that down to a set of simple steps using common tools and simple processes is magic.
Thanks so much, Joe. I got a lot of comments on past videos with people saying they didn't think they could do this kind of work without expensive tools. Now they have no excuse (hah!).
Whenever I watch your videos, first thing I do is hit that thumbs up. I already know it’s going to be good
Thanks - as I'm sure you know, lots of 'thumbs-up' helps the CZcams algorithm to steer more people my way.
@@RonCovell definitely. The more people I can steer your way, the better. I look forward to taking a class with you as well
I've learned to slow down and do the extra steps necessary to have a better end product. Thank you Ron!
Learning the proper speed is actually quite important. You can ruin a lot of stuff by going faster than your control allows.
Absolute sorcery Ron!!!!! Good god this was beyond excellent!!!!!! I will be doing one of these with my grandson! Thank you!
I hope the two of you have a grand time together!
Thank you for making this video. I have always been interested in metal work and finally have time to experiment. I enjoyed how you made it simple for the person with limited tools to make this.
Hey, that's great! I hope you have a great success with this project!
Thanks Ron again for another great project.
You are very welcome!
Thanks Ron for sharing a simple version of the seat.
You are very welcome!
That's really cool. I appreciate these simple ideas with metal shaping that uses common stuff. I could see some techniques being the same to make a trans tunnel and maybe even the dash I would like to make on my project. Lots of time but not a lot of money. I just picked up my first hammer and dolly set. Can't wait to put it to use!
Welcome to the journey!
Fantastic video! Thank you very much.
Now that's a bomber seat, that I could try to build on my garage.
I hope you do!
I actually made myself a bomber seat for use whilst working in the garage it’s great for sitting and pondering next move or thinking of solutions to problems it was your video that inspired me to do it. Thanks Ron 👍👍
That's great to hear! I have a favorite 'thinking stool' myself, although it's not a bomber seat.
Ron is the Bob Ross of metal working!
Thanks for the nice compliment!
Great vlog, thank you for sharing your beautiful vlog with us. Ron, this vlog needs a small booklet describing the steps to building this great project. Or better yet, put a lot of your tips in a book!!!
Maybe someday I'll do a book, but the videos seem more interesting to me right now.
i got a tractor in my head this seat is perfect for. i love you Ron your the best
Thanks 👍
Craftsmanship at its finest ! Great video sir
Wow, thanks!
Absolutely a master of your trade Ron, not to mention so humble. I would love to see your process of building a vintage radiator shell. To me a very hard process which I would imagine to be fairly easy for yourself. Please please please. John
There is an article online that shows me making a radiator shell:
www.motortrend.com/how-to/work-metaland-build-anything/
Ron, glad you used a countersink, there is nothing more painful than a burr on the backside. Yet again another faultless video.
My thanks 👍
Yep - nobody likes a burr in the backside!
Such a simple but elegant design.
Thanks for sharing Ron.
You are very welcome!
i have watch a few videos about making a bomber seat. This is the best tutorial ever. Its pefect. Thanky you
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Simple tools but expert technique! Thank you very much Ron!
You are very welcome!
More than the sum of its parts, sheet steel, button head screws and nuts and some edge strip. Elegant functional and comfortable! Just beautiful! 👍👍✊✌
Thanks so much!
A lot of good tips can be gleaned from this exercise. Not only did you use simple tools but you also used the bare minimum to accomplish an outstanding project. Jere
Thanks so much, Jere!
I really like this video!!! The way you explain things helps someone with less experience.
Thanks!
You are the Bob Ross of metal working. You show how to create elegance with simple tools and techniques. And, like Bob, your voice is so soothing. Thank you! I suspect you work very hard to make it look easy.
Thanks - I take that as a high compliment!
Thank you Ron, great discussion/demonstration/build…..very subtle (pro) 🧐 tip, don’t fight it 🤬,clamp it 👍
Yes, clamps are good!
Man you make it seem so easy Ron
Once you learn how, it isn't too hard.
Thank you Mr.Ron. you make it so simple
I'm glad you liked this video. Not everything has to be complicated!
If anyone looked up "making it look easy", there would be a picture of Mr. Ron. A brilliant mind with a bright and happy countenance. Thank you sir for the best 20 minutes of the week.
Wow - that's high praise indeed!
I did enjoy that. Particularly useful tips for curved edges.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm am definitely going to try this on my project car with some tweaks. What a great video
Go for it!
You sir are great I love your videos !
Glad you like them, and there are more to come!
I just love me some Ron Covell!
Thanks!
Thanks man. Always enjoy your videos. Your a modern day Master.
I appreciate that!
Amazing, a wooden jig for bending metal. Wow and thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow! I learn something from every one of your vids! Thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks Ron, great information to share! Always enjoy learning from you! An older student from your class in New Paltz NY in the 90's
Hey, thanks for 'chiming-in'! That was one of the few workshops I gave in a working space with a dirt floor!
Love how you showcase formwork and what is possible with even modest tools.
Very nice design and finish.
Thank you very much!
You are an absolute legend! Thank you.
Wow, thanks!
Ron, you're a legend. I'm still amazed with the easyness you work, no hussle, no anger... =) A master.
Why get angry - it's only metal!
As just a guy who thinks this is neat with little sheet metal experience, I really appreciate these “limited tooling” videos for techniques I can use, Thanks a lot Ron!
Thanks for watching!
I love creative techniques and methods, than you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Wunderbar ! that inspires me to build a new seat for my motorcycle sidecar
That would be cool!
I love your videos, Ron. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I can't imagine a chain of events that would ever lead to me needing to build something like this, but I will NEVER miss one of your videos.
Wow, thanks
Super, love that blue tape trick
Glad you enjoyed it!
Showing how these simple templates and forms that are such excellent tools are made is what makes these videos so high quality teaching material.
I'm so glad you liked them!
The smile on your face reveals your passion for the craft. A master at work. I love your videos, they are truly inspiring for me as a (very) hobbyist motorcycle builder.
Thanks so much 😊
Very informative video Ron, Love that you used simple tools too show that it can be done easily.
Glad you liked it!
Greetings from Denmark. What a fantastic video, I'm very impressed. Good job.
Thank you very much!
Thanks Ron you are always awesome and a wonderfull smart person. You made this bomber seat not only using a simple jig, but I can also see that you used affordable inexpensive tools that encoursges many of us afford to build it. Thanks for all your concern and teaching.
I'm glad you liked it!
There are very few things as satisfying as seeing a Master working and also sharing his experience in such a didactic way.
Thanks a lot
My pleasure!
fantastic work! learnt a few new things as usual from you! thankyou!
It really couldn't get simpler than this. I really appreciate the time and effort you've put into making this version of the bomber seat. I'll have to give it a try sometime. Thanks again and take care.
I hope you do try it!
great work sir - always pleased to see what your making Ron
Thanks!
Awesome job Ron and with minimum tools.
Thanks, Randy 👍
Awesome video Ron! My father and I love your videos. He recently starting collecting metal working tools after watching your stuff 👍🏻👍🏻
That is awesome!
I don't watch this channel enough. You are an excellent teacher. I'm glad that you "dumbed it down" on this latest version. That is not a bad thing in any way, it makes me believe that's something I can actually do at home and as a student. Thank you.
Don't be afraid - dive right in!
Looking forward to the even simpler build video where you just will the seat into existence.
I'll be thinking about that one!
This is a great demonstration!
I was really stumped on how I was going to build the back seats for my car. After seeing this I know have a great base to start from! Thank you so much for teaching!
Fantastic!
I'll be building these in my new workshop next summer!
Thank you Mr Covell for sharing this. I'm dreaming about making one chair for my desk, but now I'll make some more for my living room too ☺️
Merci encore et bonne soirée !
Ron: “I hope you enjoyed this video.”
Me: “Every second of it, sir. Thank you.”
I'm SO glad you enjoyed it!
Love all your videos, looking forward to the next one!!!!
More to come, for sure!
A very interesting and informative video. I have no need for a bomber seat but you video made me want to make one. Super good video
Thanks so much!
Always enjoy watching your videos Ron, nice idea of the hose on the drill bit must remember it thanks
I didn't invent this idea, but it certainly works well!
You make this look so easy :D thankyou for the videos, I always enjoy them.
I'm very glad you enjoyed the video. More to come, I promise!
Thank you again for these great captions. Love your metal problem solving as always.
Glad you like them!
Simpliy stunning 😉 Definitely looking forward to the next installment. All the best to you Ron.
Thanks, you too!
good work as always Mr. Covell thanks for the tutorial videos
Glad you like them!
Another stellar Covell motivational video. The only thing you left out was how to get someone else to do the work... That's always the hardest part! :)
Good call!
Even a yoyo like me can follow Ron's simple instructions. I have found myself a good channel - an instructor who understands the K.I.S.S. principle ( keep it simple, stupid). Not saying Ron is stupid, just that his new viewer is.
I do like to keep things simple, when I can!
Very Nice!! Going to look up the other vids.
Please do!
You sir are AMAZING
I appreciate that!
I love watching you work, you always make it look so easy.
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful. Can’t wait to see what you come up with the edges. This was very inspirational. Thank you 🙏
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the great video. Going to help with the seats I am going to build
.
Glad it helped!
THANKS YOU FOR Sharing This video
My pleasure

More to come!
Very awesome seats... Great video, Ron! You and Craig are both my heroes, and great guys!
Wow, thanks!
Another very informative video packed full of great techniques. Thanks Ron!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Ron. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing this.
My pleasure!
Seriously impressive work, thank you for this!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic as always. cheers for another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Ron, wonderful video! thanks a lot.
You are very welcome, and I'm glad you liked it!
