Hey Tyler, the 645Ci manual transmission doesn't bolt up to the S85 V10 in the M5/M6, the bell-housing bolt pattern is completely different. You need E9x M3 6-speed which is a direct bolt-on and the only one you can use. I sent you an email with some info back when you posted the first video. I guess good news for the 645Ci, it doesn't need to die. :D
Whoa a BMW specialist has entered the chat!
THIS NEEDS TO BE PINNED!
They won't do things the white way anyhow, lol.
Luckily this 645Ci can be saved, but I guess Hoovie will need to buy an E9X M3 now, and destroy that 😢
@bradleyscarreviews nah if it gets pinned than we won't get to see the shenanigans when it doesn't work
This is just me but I would also consider swapping the wood from the manual car to the M6. The M6 has the light blond color that does not fit the vibe. The darker wood in the manual car will look much better.
From my experience with quite a few BMWs, the clear coat on top of the wood in the 645 is probably cracked and maybe discolored from the Florida sun and heat while the M6 might still be clean at its mileage and if garage kept
645 trim won't fit on the M6, a/c contol buttons are slightly different on those cars
Yes I agree
@@paulie-Gualtieri.I see you loads Paulie
That trim in the 645 is standard, prone to cracking and worth nothing. The birdseye in the M6 is an expensive option.
Hoovie is just the right amount of calm, crazy, and chaotic.
Yeah, you gatta be, in this business, 😂, I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first supercar. The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly till I can afford them
It's always good to have a financial plan, but investing is not as easy as it looks, I've incurred alot of losses trying to invest
The best advice that i learned from Manny Koshbin is don't buy a Super or Hyper car until you have 5 times the price of it in your Bank account, when you purchase a Super car you add a car to your garage but u add also maintenance and unexpected damages that can happen in future.
If you have that much money sitting in your bank account, that means that you are not investing your money properly. Money sitting in the bank doesn't really do anything for you because interest rates are so slow. It's better to have $1 million in a place where it can make you 5% on returns rather than having that $1 million sitting in your bank account making you 0.5% returns.
You need to get a financial planner or expert on investments to aid diversify your portfolio to commodities index funds, digital assets etc, to provide illumination and guidance in the financial markets.

Hoovie: "It's way too nice"
Also Hoovie: Gives long list of issues covering almost every corner of the car inside & out ...
haha yeah his idea of "nice" is very different from most people!
Considering he spent $8k on it, its a nice car. Sure it has some issues, but if he was a regular Joe that would work as a grocery getter/daily driver easily.
For a used 6-Series, that's considered nice. You don't want a not nice 6-Series.
Scratches and dings classifies it as ‘not nice’
I mean usually a parts car doesn't drive or you can stick your feet through the floor
Not *_fully_* baked? Not taking a leak wherever? Nor followed by clouds of smoke?
I live in Florida. This cannot *_possibly_* be any one of ours. We must denounce it. LOL! 😋
The parts car would be a perfect new series for M539 Restorations. That'd be an awesome collaboration.
I mean, Sreten has a spare S62 laying around in a crashed M5, and even a spare M70 V12 from the E31 he's rebuilding 👀
I don't think Sreten wants anything to do with another BMW N62 V8 for a long time! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@MapOfEurasiaIf you know Sreten you should know that S62 from that crashed M5 is going into a wagon E39 at some point, and the V12 will be such an illegal swap in Germany! 🤣
That's a badass Idea! Besides replacing the transmission, he'd have to make it compliant for German Tuf! I wouldn't want Sreten to fall out!😆🤦🏾♂️
@@joealex65 do you know the video where he talked about that? I seem to have missed it
Love that Hoovie gives Daniel-San (and Wizard, EuroAsian Bob, Magic Mike, etc before that) shout outs on their CZcams channels. Speaks volumes on his character
The Car Wizard (David) didn't want to make a CZcams channel at all. Hoovie kept bugging him, then he promoted the heck out of the channel for him once CW actually made it. Hoovie has given so much to his local car friends. The CW now has an insane number of subscribers and does very well for himself (in addition to his amazing shop, obviously). It's from Florida.
Oh, just wait. 🙃
Why do you think the telephone area code on our Central/Eastern Coast is (321)?
3-2-1...KABOOM!
(Actually, that is indeed one of our little known fun facts. The Cape Canaveral areas were, literally, granted that telephone area code to reference the shuttle launch countdowns in about 1999 or so. Feel free to look it up. I believe it was originally meant to merely be a backfill/overlay area code for our area's much more ubiquitous 407 designation here in Orlando before it was, rightly, granted pretty much a life of its own. The rest is history; and now you know. LOL!)

The socialist paradise of 20mph......😂
@Hoovie, i said this on Car Ninja's video as well, but that 645Ci transmission doesnt bolt up to the S85 V10. The only one that bolts up is the e92 M3 6-speed. That 645Ci is useless for your conversion, unfortunately.
Wouldn’t the car Ninja know this?
The kit FCP sells is for the e92 M3 transmission. They are both GS6-53BZ, but they have different bellhousing bolt patterns. In doing some simple research, I couldn't find anyone that had done the swap with the 645Ci transmission, but several that had done it with the e92 M3 transmission.
This is unfortunately correct. I've got a 6-speed swapped E60 M5 and the only transmissions you can bolt in are from the M5/M6 or the E90/91/92 M3. The 6 speed from the non-m cars won't work. I'd love for you to prove us wrong though as this would make manual swapping SMG cars much easier.
@@ShipofTheseus-ez8giI love the screen name ❤
Perfectly describes half the HoovieFleet 😂
I agree with that era 6 speed manual being so great. I had the same one in my 08 550i. Short shifter was so smooth and effortless. Maybe a touch rubbery feeling at times but otherwise perfect!
Put in a DSSR selector rod the next time you have access to the driveshaft tunnel and you can take a lot of the rubbery feeling out of it.
Content as always is awesome. Suggestion though from a former audio engineer - normalize all of you tracks to a specific db level, so that we don't have to turn up/down as the levels change ;--)
Good luck with all your new endeavors!
Sreten is going to cry when he see's this.
You’ll need some sort of adapter plate to make this transmission fit directly to the V10.
Loving this channel!! I'm genuinely more excited about the house/farm/garage build than I am about the cars at this point and I was the same with Strads house and also WatchJRGo's new house and shop transformation!!
you must be new here. lol
These mechanics are getting smart hosting their own content about hoovies hoopties when they fix them lol
I've never done a swap like this, but does this necessarily "kill" the donor car? Would you not just put the automatic in its place?
The car is worth 6k without the gearbox probably in parts, and wouldn't be worth a lot more when put all together with the correct computers. At the moment the labour involved is too expensive.
Dont think the SMG could Electronically talk with the 4.4L V8 only the M V10
@@CRAPO2011I've believe I've seen a 550i in the wrecking yard with a SMG.

@@justinheffernan1the non m cars that had an smg were different from the m ones.
If you put the auto back in the 645 would it make more or less than just selling for parts ?
My guess is it's probably impossible or prohibitively expensive to get the factory manual 645's computer to talk to the automatic or SMG transmission.
Let the auto transmisison cars die
I was wondering the same thing, but I have had many other dumb ideas….
@@louisjones2653 i know on the m3s its pretty easy to do but not sure if these would work the same
I feel like pulling parts of the 645 won't be hard and will be more profitable than installing a terrible SMG back into a driver quality 18 year old BMW
I like this journey you’re on right now with the new place. It’s beautiful. I hope it’s at least a little haunted.

I sat with my coffee, popped open and YT and was VERY delighted for a new Hoovie! 👏 Proud of the manual swap M6 choice! That is going to be soooo fun
Same with dinner.
Apparently the Maybach turns the Wizard into the Car Jizzard
If you plan on keeping that Maybach, I wonder if the head unit is the same as the S Class... I remember years ago Tavarish went with this company called Seicane that makes Android head units with OEM styling and buttons. The buttons are bigger on the S Class version, but I bet it fits, and would add a lot of functionality.
Those manuals are super rare and in that color, i saw that car once down here once parked at church one day when I had my newer 06 that I bought new and order in a manual. I put 170k miles on it and the engine was just like that one. I had fixed any leaks on it and because I was meticulous with maintenance it had very few issues. I approve patting it out for the m6 it’s a great idea!
those 6 series are pretty fun cars. comfy and fairly quick for the size on the 650. i was very close to getting a used geneva debut edition one a few years back. matte bronze exterior with a beautiful white/brown 2 tone interior. a beautiful car.
You get a cool manual M6 and hopefully that 645 part out will help save several other cars! All good
Give the rolling shell of the 645 to 100PercentJake, so he can LS swap it with a manual :D I know he loves the 6er.

I wonder how long ago this car came from New Jersey ? Definitely been within the last 4 years but the 645 definitely hasn’t been a Florida car it’s whole life, great videos as always Tyler !
Just swap the transmission out of the M6 into this one , or would that be too expensive. At least it saves a pretty good car .
You mean do two transmission swaps, and more to the point swap in one of the most hated transmission’s the SMG into it? Waste of time money and sanity

@@mcspikesky yep, not every car is worth being saved. make your money off the bits, take the big parts you need, and call it good. some cars are just dumb, and it's ok to make them go away.
LS swap it with a junkyard motor and tranny!! LOL
The SMG I don’t believe came ever in the 645i so it’d have to be done pretty much from complete scratch with a lot of custom work, which is more work and money than the car would ever be worth.
That was our car from @carsandbids, we had a feeling that this was hoovies plan with this 645. Glad hoovie is enjoying this clean organ donor for the M6 😆
Got an original 3 pedal M6 of the same color. It’s a beautiful thing to drive.

The Aston 02 sensors are the same as a 1.2 ford fiesta, even the same part number, replaced them in a V8 vantage and zero issues
To good to be a parts car imo
LS swap 6 series? Would be an interesting comparison to the V10...
You could make a top gear style v8 blender or power farm equipment with the N62 haha
I have loved the 6 series since they came out. I really would love to get newer 6 series as my grandpa always had his old school car as a reliable car for any relatives visiting in Huntington Beach. I have loved this "bengal butt" look since these have came out. Always loved these cars. Love to see one swapped to a manual!

Personally I would take the mirrors of the parts car, repaint them and put them on the m6 cause they look way nicer in my opinion
No they don’t lol
@@Wildman2291 I said personally not universally
Regarding the Ferrari cylinder heads: I was always concerned about warped cylinder heads, especially the length of sis cylinders in-line. The cam journals warp with the head. Then the cams are spinning as on an eccentric. There is a "truing" method a GOOD machine shop can perform by plunging the head into super heated oil then pressing it in a jig to cool down straight and true.
Be sure to have the camshaft journals checked for alignment. Be certain the valve seats didn't loosen up.
I'll be watching.
Electronic clusters are a pain. Alfa 164s used to have this problem with their climate control module, they used a mylar ribbon to adhere the cable to the display and the heat made it warp and pull up over time. Solution is to replace the old tape with metal tape.
After the first video of this BMW M6 I saw one in real life and it really did age very well
“it’s fine!” *revs the piss out of it*
Only up to 5k rpm, soft limiter.
I have a 545i 6speed manual black on black and I’ll tell you that’s a drivers car and suck a underrated platform. These cars aren’t the fastest on the block but their real quick and make all the right noises with a exhaust mod. It’s hard to see the 645i go but it’s gonna be so worth it for that M5 manual swap!
Hoovie,
I think if I were you and had both I’d keep both just to see and feel difference for fun have test. The comparison would be interesting. But I do know having German and working on German it’s not surprise that sometimes it take a car to make another. Thanks for all videos👍
I feel like the wizard could have replace only one sensor not the whole 4, could keep some of the wire maybe so they will be usable still, could buy the ford one for 1/4 price..
If you have the money you might as well do all 4 as preventative maintenance.
Oxygen sensors are a consumable part. That's similar "logic" to replacing one Pirelli or Michelin with a Kumho or a whole set.
Tyler never buys Lexus/Toyota vehicles. I think he’s a masochist 😂
I can confirm about South Florida Car dealers. When i was in college I worked for a used car lot in Miami. We would literally fix stuff in methods we knew would only last a few thousand miles if even that. All the time things like stop leak to fix headgasket problems, or thicker oils to stop noises, or even just zip ties and super glue to stop stuff from rattling. They also changed the name of the business every 3-4 years to reset the 1 star reviews on google and have a big grand opening sale, and owned around 6 different lots from between Homestead to Fort Lauderdale. I worked there for 5 years through school as it was the only place that would work around my school hours and let me make enough money to graduate with no student loans. Thank god i wasnt a salesman and was just a porter/cleanup guy. I dont think i could of lived with myself if i actually sold one of those cars to someone.
I'm restoring a very ruined (but stick) V10 M6 and the thumbnail had me worried! Until I noticed the dual, not quad exhausts. Glad you can use a 645 for the swap.
That M6 is going to be sweet with the manual trans.
Good luck, can't wait to see a video when it is done.
I’ve had 2 645ci’s great car great drive. Definitely getting a 3rd
15:05 Wizard sleeps/hides in Hoovies' cars to get away from Mrs Wizard😂
Fun project, go Hoovie!
Makes sense with the Aston since the engine is supposedly two duratech v-6 engines in one block.
Totally right about south Florida dealers, bought a 2015 s550 coupe in 2016/7, plenty not disclosed. Even the local mercedes dealer who inspected it for me didn't protect me. Suspect they had an inside guy.
May have been bought in Florida but that has NJ inspection sticker. I bet it lived most of its life in the rust belt.
Love seeing more manual conversions!
I think the biggest transformation wont be the third pedal, it'll be the gear ratios. That 7-Speed is apparently very long geared, and the V10 is not the torquiest engine ever built. Having a gearbox with more 'normal' ratios like one off the N62 V8 should mean the V10 will rev much faster. A channel here in the UK swapped in the manual from the E90 M3 onto a V10 M5 and apparently revved so much faster and that was the most noticeable improvement.
This is a very cool swap! Nice Hoovie - Glad to see you're doing the right thing here :)
Swap the trim also!! The black wood finish looks so much better!
Love ship station! Saving great deal of money… thanks for the info.
I valet'd some M6's in my days. One time I left the hand brake on and some other guy went to get it and he basically did a burnout with the clutch to the point the car was smoking. He went to pull off like a normal car not knowing it was an automated manual with the handbrake on... I can bet the clutch was completely fried after that day.
Brilliant idea! Well done Hoovy!
Its a good project. Make sure the parts match.
"I was dreaming of pigs and horses......and giraffes!" I'll have what the Wizard is having.
12:12 On E34s it's better using the original plastic one, as the metal one can make some very not nice noises, it's the exact same part, not sure how it is on this newer generation, but might want to look up if you accualy want to use it or not, Hoovie
It would be interesting to get an update on what the parts car is worth parted out. BMW parts prices are insane to begin with. I'd imagine that used parts fetch a decent price. Sad to see it chopped as its a nice daily driver.
My old buddy got burned on a Toyota MR2 he purchased from S Florida. Clean as new but rod Knock. I swapped a better drivetrain and did uogrades. Worked out at a loss of course.
This is not a stupid idea, in fact, I think it is a amazing idea. I love the BMW M6, and with a manual transmission it will be bulletproof and will be such a sick car. That should become your daily driver, I love the lines of that car, it’s still relevant today. Don’t worry about the donor, I’m sure it has more problems than you know. Again, you said it has some Florida in it😂
Bulletproof except for the well-known engine and electrical issues!
I would swap the interior trim as well.. that black trim looks nicer than that dated wood trim in the M6
I hope that manual swap goes smoothly. Hey you know what would be a fun manual swap to see? An EG civic hatch or some other 90s Japanese car!
You and the Wizard Crack my up !!!
I didn’t mind the SMG II trans in my M6. It was so much better than the SMG I in my E46 M3. I only kept my M6 for about 6 months. I own a bunch of 928 and the M6 was FAR more expensive to maintain than those!
20:32 never seen the wizard move so fast hahaha
Agree with a few other comments that the darker wood from the parts car would look really at home in the M6. The super light wood just never looks as good, imo.
It’s like Christmas morning when I see Hoovie upload
