SWISSVIEW, VS - Petit Mont Collon

Eine unberührte Gletscherlandschaft umgibt den Petit Mont Collon (3’556 m ü. M.) und südöstlich davon den Mont Collon (3’637 m ü. M.) in den Walliser Alpen. Das Massiv erhebt sich nahe der italienischen Grenze. An seinem Nord-Fuss liegt inmitten von Arvenwäldern das charakteristische Walliser Dorf Arolla (1’998 m ü. M.). Als Ausgangspunkt für eine Besteigung bietet sich die SAC-Hütte «Cabane des Vignettes» (3’160 m ü. M.) an.

The Petit Mont Collon (3,556 m above sea level) is situated in the Valais Alps southeast of the Mont Collon (3,637 m above sea level). The two mountains are enclosed by a unique glacier landscape close to the Italian border. At the northern foot of this mountain range lies the characteristic Valais village of Arolla (1,998 m above sea level) in the middle of Swiss stone pine forests.
A good starting point for climbing the mountain is the SAC chalet "Cabane des Vignettes" (3,160 m above sea level).
