- Engine Fires, Blocks Falling Out, and Other Engine Failures can happen during any hook on any track at any time. We hope this never happens, but it does. One puller told me recently, "We may have an idea it's going to happen [or likely going to happen], but we really get to see what happened when it goes and how to resolve it." All the engine failures of the 2019 tractor truck pulling season that were filmed by WWPTV. #tractor #tractorpull #tractorpulling #tractorpullfails #tractorpullmishaps #tractorpullcarnage

I can't say this video surprises me too much. When you overclock an engine THAT MUCH, I'm fairly sure the hosts and audience alike expect this to happen at least a few times.
i dont know anything about these tractor pulls, how can these tractors with 4engines not be able to pull the weight without blowing all 4engines,like i said i know nothing about engines that have all that horse power, thats gotta be hard on the wallet, how much does the winner take home?
@@jerryedwards4489 I'm not suggesting they "try" to blow their engines up. But if you're going for the win... well, you're tempting fate by now. I got feedback from a more recent video explaining how a standard engine block is literally written into the rules. So add ridiculously overpowered parts, and destroying the block is becoming a real danger.
Of all the motor sports, Demolition Derby and Tractor Pulls have always been my favorite. With DD, it's the figure 8 intersection and with Tractor Pulls its the engine failures. The excitement just never ends.
Expect. Thats the real reason you go to watch.
@@jerryedwards4489 Its because of not just how much weight it is but how they increase the weight. As that weight on the trailer moves forward the front of it is pushed down onto the ground so you don't just have the weight of the trailer but the dirt its dragging against.
I love how absolutely no one seems to know that fire extinguishers exist lmao
the dirt's not gonna set alight, not really that important. Better to let the driver bask in the warm glow of his hard work going up in flames before snuffing it out, just like his hopes and dreams of winning
Two reasons I need to go back to the USA. Hi octane drag racing, and this tractor pulling thing. Absolutely awesome entertainment.
Thousands of horsepower, noise and fury blows up and pisses oil, coolant, metal shards and fuel everywhere before catching fire. Dude bowls up with a fire extinguisher from his glovebox. I love these guys.
It is great how you take the time to honor the driver/owner with the name, date, location..
No one else does this... Thanks
^^
I noticed that too tbh I love it
except 9:47 looks wrong for Radial Reactor

I like how they're on fire and everyone is just looking at it like "what the hell happened?" instead of running for a fire extinguisher!
Yeah I like my own comment and I even replied to it, what now brown cow! lol
In the whole video I just saw one fire extinguisher and that one was so small that it probably came out of a women's purse..
I'd have nightmares if i squirted cracks through out their block. Mostly flash fuel
steel doesn't burn...much.
@Dave Micolichek lmao!
@Dave Micolichek imagine cold water to hot block crackling back in your face, no thanks. Steel fragments !!
3:33 i recognize those throttles on top of the engine, my friend's foundry makes limited production runs of em. the first rendition he put on a blown Chevelle, where it blocked the driver from seeing out half of the windshield. so ridiculous but so awesome at the same time
10:05 I request a moment of silence for that poor, poor radial.
6:32 Interesting to see the smoke go black white gray white gray white in the course of a single second.
Wondering what got burnt out in that order to make those hues lol
@@SEATACx All of it, would be my guess.
When I watch these, I always marvel at the slow response to use fire extinguishers when there’s a fire.
90% of the time it’s an oil fire or gas fora and when you put water in an oil fire it will spread so that’s why fire extinguishers are used instead of water
It's simply incredible how unprepared for fire some of those tracks are, such as at 1:23 and 6:26. What the hell, let it burn...crowd entertainment.
I was thinking the same exact thing at 2:05. Like wtf? Just let it blow up.
Duuuuuuuudes you have to understand these engines are incredibly expensive to fix and replace, letting it blow up could send pieces into the crowd that could cause injuries.
@@knowingfps: Nobody's advocating letting the engines blow up. The drivers are the ones pushing them beyond their limits. Kody and I were criticizing the tracks that don't provide adequate fire suppression capabilities. When there's fire, something has already gone wrong, and it needs to be handled, quickly. I'm well aware of the cost for those engines. What I can't believe is the number of people and companies that have the money to spend on them!
@@Fire21ccfd I see srry for the misunderstanding
6:50 is the best example
I remember my first time seeing 2 engines on one of these tractors and being amazed. Now ive seen 5 on one and im just dumbfounded 😂

Giving the people what they want… GOD BLESS AMERICA
In all of these , it looks like it's everyone's first rodeo ! Truck blows up , on fire, and everyone's standing around with their hands in their pockets not knowing what to do!
Grab some hotdogs
These things blow up all the time, they've seen it many times and they know what to do: stand around and watch.
This is actually stuff I like to watch on you tube
@Dave Micolichek Right on. Channel didn't blow up until we did this! Ready to the 2019 Fails? We already did part one. I might re-release the entire year. I don't know. And I have 4 other fail type categories that I think you might love!
@Dave Micolichek LMAO!!
Subtracted a buck nine!!
Me too
I prefer the catastrophic engine compliance videos myself
LOVE THOSE OLD CIRCLE BECONS!
It really is sad seeing awesome engines spilling their guts out everywhere.
Sadder still to see people wasting their money this way.
especially when they use warbird engines
Bill Cobbett ya there’s people who spend thousands on these tunes
No. It is not sad. The people who built these machines not only know blowing an engine is a possibility, but actually a likelihood. What are we gonna do...? Build an absurd machine like these and NOT run them to the max? Just sit and stare at them, imagining what they can do?
BTW... I have little to no interest in this “sport”. I think it’s kind of dumb. Came here for a laugh.
I'll agree, but the contestants know the risks when pushing their engines that hard. It's the same mindset if a tech like myself gets a CPU and GPU that DEMAND water-cooling. I don't do so, but know people who do fully understanding what a failure means. You put the money in knowing full well it MIGHT fail.
The fuel usually burns out by the time they get a fire extinguisher on it, alcohol burns off quick, diesel is a little slower but not as hot so that’s why you don’t see a big panic when they catch fire I know looks pretty dumb how they react but they see it week n week out that’s why they don’t flip out when they blow up👍
Engines being pushed far past their limits and No fire extinguisher within a mile this is awesome.
@OG JT that's not the point. You still should have something to extinguish the flames that could easily and quickly overcome the tractor and driver.
7:00 that guy is still waiting for a fire extinguisher
I know! I’ve watched a few of these types of videos and they never seem to be prepared with handy fire extinguishers.
I like that you put the location. I'm always watching for Canfield, Ohio.
Right on! Pullers want to know what, when, where, who. So we try to help because one day we will not have the memory we do today. Some people do not like the captions and that is okay too. You are allowed to not like things in life, but what you see here is years of listening to pullers and fans alike.
Something feels very apt about a pulling truck being called money hog or high maintenance especially in a fail compilation
Wow the carnage! Thanks for the upload.
My tractor is on fire, I'd better hurry up and remove this FIRE RESISTANT protective sock off my head so I can look like a real genius lol
I was just about to comment that!?!
Wtf are they thinking?
Alcohol on fire= "just sit back and remove your fire resistant protection off and wait for it to end by it self"
And the people around working there...? "Billy! Bring the meat! We have a free barbecue!! "
Hahaha... Yeah i giggled pretty hard watching the guy remove his fire suit WHILE his rig was on fire. Why even wear one? They would look better in overalls anyway.
@Dave Micolichek Better off being burned than sweat a little? lol Okay you go right ahead. I've been there, done that. I'd sweat half my weight away and sit in a giant puddle of my stink before I would rip off the stuff like that guy when my tractor IS ON FIRE!! Let's see you put out a fuel fire since you seem to think it's so simple and easy...
@Dave Micolichek lol, nobody is sweating to death on their tractors, settle down there, Mr.excitable... As far as the fuel fire goes, you have NO clue what you're talking about.
@@farmcentralohio I have been in Le Mans type of racing with cars where you are driving one (1) hour on circuit track before you change driver... And I have been on fire at home where I had My whole head in fire whitout racing gears...
For me it's ridiculous that he could'nt have His Gear on for what 10min??!?
And the only time the fire protection is usefull he ripped it off....
From the eight second time mark to the thirty six second time mark It's amazing how the engine keep't running until it was shut down . 0:08
Looks like the entire crank flew apart and came out the oil pan
I notice that your grandstands are not full in some videos.. bring your diesel burning, flash blinding circus to Australia.. those stands would be jam packed.. that would be definite show material.. Aussie fan 😎🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👏👏👍👍👌👌

Hagerstown was BAD!!! There were a LOT of Teams THRASHING to get to Chapel Hill!!! You missed Kevin Schmucker's Meltdown!!! Thanks for Sharing though!!!
i agree with other comments about fire extinguishers or the lack of wouldnt happen here in scotland .
Some real bad breaks in there! Nice compilation man.
Yeah, some were just burst panels, but most were complete ground up rebuilds. And one I was a part of. But this is a video a fan wanted to see, so we made it. We have a whole series we are going to make.
Those 2wd mod class trucks are essentially running top fuel engines,(drag racing), they are run significantly harder, significantly longer than in top fuel. Its insane how much punishment is going on in 300 feet.
Ahhh tractor pulls! Most fun you can have standing up.
What a feeling. You spend a ton of money on one of these, and then it craps the bed.
These machines were Pulling like a 13 year old until they dropped their load, lol. Good to watch/see.
John, Australia.
Fine print on ANY tractor pull waiver: “If your vehicle catches fire, you must burn to death like a man. No Exceptions”
It turns out engines are more like electronics than I thought. If you let the magic smoke out, they stop working.
Poor ol terry blackbourn his engine broke that cost more than most tractors that were there lol💪 they still build the Baddest tractors on the block tho👊👊
As far as the fire fighters here.. Hmm a small can aint gonna cut it. At least the euro pullers have people near by with buckets of water if not fully suited fire fighters within 20ft of the track.
I'm sure though this is just a rare thing to see, but that's scary seeing that one that was on fire for over 60 seconds. Geeze!
She'll burn out,the melted parts are cheaper than croaking a block.
Автору Огромное Спасибо, видео как всегда на высоте!!!
I could totally do this for a living on someone else's pocketbook.. hold the skinny pedal down until you start going off into the rhubarb or part numbers start flying out..
Majority of tractors don't have a skinny pedal. They have a throttle lever. And two brake levers.
And there I was thinking all it took to avoid doing much was to be called boss when a t shirt with 'event staff' is just as good.
Everyone is more interested in seeing what broke rather than putting the fires out 😂
“All this horsepower and nowhere to go!”
The best of Ursus C-360
We had a tractor split a block in two at the county fair in my town.

Its amazing how some of these tractors are more than 50% engine by weight
No kidding, I'm curious to see how it's all linked up
6:42 the dude is like: oh all chill just a little fire on my truck all cool.
6:40 has to be the worst fire team I’ve ever seen... one guy just standing there like yeah that’s fire. No one else comes to help 🤷♂️
These are all very expensive failures, but that is a risk being taken for the sport...🤷♂️
Some of these actually made my eyes widen.
the lack of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers is appalling. like one volunteer with a fire extinguisher is all you need
Tractor go BRRRRRRRRRRRRR... BOOM!
9:10 this man just eats that fireball LOL
And thats why I keep my visor down 😂
Sidewinder just poofed out of existence, what a way to go out with a bang
When those diesel tractors blow the blow up hard I've seen them blow the hood strait off they definitely go out with a bang OUCH!!!!!
@6:49 is that a whole "CASE" ah fire
You would think with all the organizing they do for these pulls they might have at least a fire extinguisher instead of a bucket of water
Buckets of water work best for European leagues most of the time. Think about diesel, gas, alcohol, all different types, and the Full Blown Wicked thing was a freak happening of something leaking onto an extremely hot neighboring header.
@@WWPTV You're an idiot if you think a bucket of water works best on fuel/oil fires. Save the water for wood fires genius.
It is what they use in Europe. Bucket of water at ever distance marker. I didn't implement it, just reporting it. They put them put out super fast over there. Over here in the states, we use chemical like AKE Stop Fire one of the sponsors for the NTPA. Have an opinion and merely state what you have seen with your own eyes and all the sudden, "I am idiot?" Tough crowd!
in denmark we use water 95% of the its all you need. less damage to the traktor than the fire extinguisher
@@WWPTV - Yeah!! The Header Pipe Broke and it Tore the Fuel Line to the Right Motor!!! That was the FIRST Time that I saw them use FOUR Complete Bottles of StopFyre!!! And It was STILL Going!!! They Backed him up THREE Times and it just Kept Re-Lighting!!! Only when Puller from another Team came in and hit it with Dry Chem did it go out!!! They were PISSED at the guy!! All the Crud that that Dry Chem left was a MESS!!!
Engine blows up in a giant fire ball...
Announcer: "Well that's not good."
I get a real kick from seeing these expensive toys blowing up, LOL. 😀
It happened so why not bring new eyes to the sport? Pullers don’t like these videos. Fans do though.
I guess it is okay if one has too much money. Me, I could pay off my mortgage, and do a considerable amount of world travelling on what it costs to build one of these tractors. @@WWPTV
Congratulations cool👏👏👏🚜🚜🚜🚜👷👷👷
I think it was the fourth one the gas with a few engines on fire nobody with a fire extinguisher? Sounds like a safe place to race?
Man that was sad to see that 40 series Deere with the aluminum hood, blow up before he even got out the hole😖🙁
Does that void the John Deere warranty? @12:00 the "fire crew" uses an aerosol can style extinguisher!
Deeres' tears are not covered
Can’t believe they don’t have a few fire extinguishers laying around
This remembers me of the fair my family went but they move to another state
5:36 I love how this one had a seizure as it approached its inevitable demise
8:12 That wheel threw in the towel and went home LOL
If you've ever held one of those blower belts it would amaze you how so many of them get broken and thrown off. They're so thick and stiff you can hardly bend them with your hands.
@4:42 classic mini hith and twitch lol!
The track needs to invest in a pumper fire engine and have some hose lines ready with self expanding foam to knock the. Would be alot better than trying to get the flames out with fire extinguishers and hoping you all have enough to get the fires out. Even a gas powered pump connected to a huge tank of SEF will a two inch hose and high pressure firefighting type nozzle would be a pretty good setup for battling large fuel and or oil fed flames. Be safe ya'll.
I like the radial airplane engine at 9:46
Threw a chunk of metal straight up in the air.
Im rather impressed that there are any parts out there that can stand up to 300lb of boost.
Damm thing's never break at home!!
Gives me a lot of podracer vibes. Wonder if Lucas saw one of these shows with a lot of failures before making that sequence?
"Somebody get a hotdog" lolll
I noticed that the engine would catch if was to over heat
Number 13 took a real nasty number 2 in the middle of the track
seems to me these pulling associations could put together a few guys with some real fire extinguishers to put fires out on these tractors and trucks, that are putting money in their very pockets, instead of track staff standing around watching some one's tractor burn up?? wtf over?? glad I'm not running my equipment on a track or under an organization that's too cheap to buy some fire extinguishers just to have on hand, that's the very least that should be done.
You took the words right out of my mouth. I can't believe the total lack of adequate fire suppression, -especially considering all of the alcohol motors being run, -that stuff is downright scary when it lights off..
So I have seen groups with them on their hips, at each distance marker, you name it. But when something like that happens, I’m paid to stay there. The officials are paid to see to matters on the track. But a lot of times, these invisible fires sneak up on them. The visible fire to the Everman tractor was tough to watch because the announcer was telling them there was fire. And I have heard numerous pullers say that chemicals does a lot of harm to an engine. I saw one guy recently have an extinguisher on his hip and it was exhausted and the fire was still going. Fuel was cut off but somehow it was still leaking on to a hot header. Took about 8 minutes total to completely put out.
@@WWPTV Yeah, I know firsthand what a dry-chem extinguisher does on an engine fire, -they are cheap, but they almost cause more aftermath damage than they are worth. I suppose if the thing was going to burn to the ground, -well, that'd be a different story. Once that dry-chem powder sees any moisture, it is corrosion city, -no good at all. CO2 extinguishers are where it's at for stuff like this. Halon used to be the shizz-nizzle until they quit making it, now they are super expensive.
@@ratman5727 in Europe they use water, there are waterbuckets every 10 meters or so.
Yeah we have seen that in other videos we've posted. Saw one dude put it out with a rag. SMH.
interesting and entertaining..but the only note i want to add.. how come the officials are cheap in the fire
extinguishers??
The one thing that I see in almost all of these engine fires is the fact that there is no immediate fire extinguishers going to the fire . Why not. ? That should be a priority .
I feel bad for the drivers. The engine explodes / catches fire / dies within 5 seconds or 10 seconds after they take off from starting point. Use a small jet engine on these things and it will push and pull much more power without blowing up. A high strong powerful small jet engine will help do the job xD But i'm probably wrong on this :|
Insane, insane, insane, insane
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awedome!!
That one dude got literally flame broiled
Anybody ever hear of a BCD 20lb fire extinguisher
One good squeeze of the trigger and the fires out
No kidding. I guess they would just rather stand around and watch things burn up.
Seriously. All them event staff should have a FE ready to go.
Sorry, I don’t know my fire extinguishers.
Very few of these are what I would call catastrophic failures. When you still have a block, crank and heads that can be reused it isn't too bad.
Understood. What is catastrophic to you and the puller could be entirely different things. For a 4 wheel drive puller losing your front or rears could be a big deal. We will call them in the future, "When the pulling expectation isn't the desired result" and see how that title does.
Sehr gut
must have bottomless pocket books to not carry a fire extinguisher and the ones that do have tiny ones like is this all i need for fight a engine fire
The fire extinguishers they do have are the size of a pack of pringles 😂
Last two pulls the track was not prepped properly. Tractors bouncing from poor track conditions causing undo stress on motors n tossing oil up n causing engine failure at high rpms. Port track prep.
More accurate title: "It just got expensive!"
Or “The crowd may be laughing but my wallet isn’t”
Or “who’s gonna clean up that oil?”
First 👍up guys
thanks for the great video upload guys
6:27 The tractor is on fire and nobody gives a damn lol
If you are going run a sporting event that has petrol engines that go bang sometimes BUY some bloody fire extinguishers and NOT crappy little ones ..BUT ones that may be able to put a fire out
